Finally, she could talk again and told him, "Give me a few minutes baby, I am going to pay you back!"

"I know baby," He smiled, "I know."

Benedict pulled her closer, his hands roaming her back as their kisses grew more passionate. He murmured her name against her lips, a soft, reverent sound that sent shivers down her spine.

"I love you," he whispered, his voice raw with emotion.

"I love you too," she replied, her voice steady and sure.

They move together, the love they feel in every touch and kiss. It was as if the intensity was palpable from the life they had built together and the battles they had conquered together. They lost themselves in each other; time stood still as their passion reaffirmed an unbreakable bond.

Later, as they lay wrapped in each other's arms, breathing steady and warm within their closeness, Sabrina rested her head on Benedict's chest. The beating of his heart was like a lullaby.

"Days like today remind me how lucky we are," she said drowsily.

Benedict ran hi

The secret, she was certain, lay in the pattern of the guard's rounds—when he passed by her cell, he inevitably stopped on that farthest corner. He never gave her much attention, thinking her just another condemned prisoner with no choice. Clara was not like the others. She was waiting for this one, single chance. She reached up to the small grate above her cot, the one she had secretly loosened during the last few days. It was a tight fit, but Clara had managed to create a small opening large enough to slip through, using pieces of cloth and the thin, wiry metal she'd managed to pry loose. She drew herself up, using the makeshift rope she had prepared, her hands steady despite the adrenaline coursing through her veins. She was almost there.Footsteps approached again, closer this time. Her pulse was racing. This was the moment she had been waiting for.Clara gave one final glance over her shoulder, to ensure that Dolores was still asleep. With gritted teeth, she heaved herself up thr

In one swift motion, she lunged forward, swinging the keys in a tight arc toward his face. Morales instinctively ducked, but Clara wasn't aiming for his head-she was aiming for his side, for the pocket where he kept his gun.Keys reached out, Morales grunted in surprise, taking a stumbling backward step. Clara's heart pounded in her chest, her veins full of adrenaline, she did not hesitate to use the moment to her advantage. She pushed herself forward swiftly and dodged around Morales's receding back to make a beeline for the gate. But just as she stretched out to the gate, a strong grasp closed around her arm. Morales regained his balance far quicker than Clara had permitted herself to let herself think."Not so fast, Clara," he snarled, twisting her arm behind her back with a jerk that sent a shock of pain through her shoulder.Clara gritted her teeth, refused to let the pain show. She would not give him the satisfaction of seeing her break. She kicked backward, aiming for his shin,

Her mind was already racing ahead, thinking about the next steps. The safe house was just a temporary stop, a place to regroup. She couldn't stay there forever. She needed to plan, to figure out her next move. But one thing was clear. She wouldn't be stopped. Not by anyone. The van veered hard onto a quiet dirt road and down from view, where city eyes and noise wouldn't see. Clara felt her heart ease some but didn't calm at all; it settled and hung inside, weighing against the pain. It cost a great deal to what she was to do. Clara was uncertain whether she had been ready to take that risk of its coming result. Yet, there was no backing down. She could not retreat at this point. She had gotten this far.As the van came to a stop, the man glanced over at her. “You’ve made a dangerous choice, Clara. Don’t forget that.”Clara met his gaze without flinching. “I’ve made my choice. And I’m not going to regret it.”The man sighed, opening the door to the small, dimly lit building in front of

Clara's eyes turned icy, a fire burning in her chest. "I'll make them regret ever crossing me."He gave her a slow, almost reluctant smile. "Okay then. I'll keep collecting the pieces. But remember, don't go rushing this. If you do, you're walking straight into their hands. Take it slow. Wait for the perfect moment.Clara nodded firmly. "I'm not leaving until I've done what I came for."The man stayed a moment, his eyes furrowed to study her as if trying to read her deeper. "You're not some woman to underestimate. But tread carefully. Those kinds of people don't just fall."Clara said lowly, saying it more to herself than the man. "I'm not afraid of them. They will not know what hit them.He gave her one last glance before he was out the door and leaving, his footsteps echoing down the hallway. Clara stood by the door, gazing after him. The quiet in that room had become deafening, but it wasn't the silence that bothered her. It was the wait. But waiting didn't scare her. Clara knew th

Delacruz nodded. "We have been monitoring Clara's bank accounts and any possible activity. She has not been using her main account, but we found something else. She accessed an offshore account a few days ago. Small withdrawals, nothing large, but it's enough for her to stay off the radar."Vargas sat forward, his interest piqued. "Could she be preparing something? Something big?""Could be," Delacruz said. "We do not know what exactly she's up to, but that's enough to give me concern. We even tracked her being close to some private jet hangar."Ramos raised his eyebrows. "A jet? She's flying the country?"Possibly, Delacruz answered cautiously, "But she's smart. She could plan here, wait for the right time to make the move."Vargas stood up, the weight of their failure hanging over him. "Then we need to move fast. We can't afford to wait. Every second we lose, she gets closer to whatever it is she's planning."Ramos slammed his hand on the table. "Alright, let's pull everything we've

Taylor Elite Hotel's grand ballroom became a wonderland for Saben's 8th birthday. Balloons in shades of blue and silver floated near the high ceiling, cascading ribbons adding a playful touch to the elegant space. A massive cake, shaped like a superhero fortress, stood at the center of the buffet table, drawing excited gasps from Saben's classmates. There were giggles in each corner of the room; children running around playing tag near the decorated tables. The room was full of freshly baked pastries and chocolate fountains, and everybody could enjoy such a feast in a view of great-moving music.Saben was dressed in a sharp blue suit with a little red bow tie. He darted across the room, his eyes shining bright with excitement. His energy was infectious. Every few minutes, he would take a friend by the hand, leading them to a different corner of the party, eager to explore everything that his great-grandmother Wendy had prepared.Benedict stood near the entrance, his arm resting on Sab

The ballroom continued the birthday celebration of Saben. The grand ballroom glowed with a warm golden light, casting over the laughter-filled space. The blue and silver balloons danced near the ceiling as Saben's classmates ran around the superhero-themed decorations, giggling. In the middle of it all stood Saben proudly in his blue suit, the tiny red bowtie slightly askew as he grinned up at his father.Benedict knelt down to fix it. "There. Now you're the handsomest boy in the room," he declared, tousling his son's hair.Saben chuckled at that and peeked over to Sabrina who stood by, her flowing white dress moving across the floor in a graceful elegance as she watches them with absolutely pure adoration in her eyes."You say that all the time, Dad," Saben teased. "Are you sure you're not just saying this because I'm your son?"Benedict grinned. "Absolutely not. You could walk into any room and still be the most handsome kid there."Saben raised an eyebrow in jest. "Even in a room f

Clara's face curled into something almost dark—unrecognizable."Yes, I do. You don't know what it feels like to be in love that much, have it consume and destroy you. Benedict was the dream, was the future, and then that woman came around and took all of it back."Her lip curled up and curled with contempt."She does not deserve him. She shouldn't even draw the same oxygen as he did."Morales clenched his fists. "And if you do this? So what? They will hunt you. You will have to run for all eternity."Clara moved closer, her voice becoming a snake venom whisper. "That's why you are here, Brother. To protect me. To clear up my mistakes. That's what family does, isn't it?" Clara spoke, her voice dripping with cold resolution.Morales swallowed hard at the sight of her. But she turned slowly, so that he could see the hurt unfettered in her eyes.I never locked you out, Nathaniel," she whispered. "You just never came close enough to linger."And with that, she departed, the chill night air nipping at her skin. The darkness closed in around her like an old friend long forgotten. She did not glance back. Not when the world was weighed in the balance. The wind wailed as Eliana stepped outside onto the porch, the door slamming behind her like the last stroke on the end of a difficult page. But before she could put a foot beyond the stairs—"Leaving without me?"She faltered. Damian lingered by the edge of the cabin, moonlight glinting off of his dark jacket only accentuating the scar near his jaw more than ordinary. His face showed unreadable expressions, but his eyes-those burning, watchful eyes-were locked on her.The air caught in her throat.“Damian.”He took a step forward, hands in his coat pockets. “You said the extraction would be at midnight. He moved another step forward. "I'm not saving you, Eliana. I'm holding on to you. You keep trying to hurt my father, and you'll be dead. Leave this to the cops."She laughed, a laugh that had no pleasure in it. "The cops?" she repeated, her eyes burning. "You think they care? You think they're not already in the pocket? You think I've not already tried that avenue?""Eliana—"No!" she exclaimed, her voice cutting through the thick air. "How am I supposed to stop when your father still tries to kill me? When every animal with my blood in their veins is a target on feet?" Nathaniel's lips opened, but she was far from finished."My father—Benedict—he did his duty. He planted skeletons of your family to keep everyone safe. But your grandfather? He was laundering money and on the board of my father's company! And now your father's attempting to cover up every loose end—including my family!"Nathaniel's face contorted, shame reddening every part of it."I did not know," Nathaniel panted.

For an instant, the room held its breath. No one breathed. Even the fire paused in its flicker, as if respecting her silent declaration of war against the life she did not desire. Then Nathaniel moved back as if she had slapped him."Eliana," Nathaniel growled, "you don't have to—"“But I do,” she cut in. “You both keep looking at me like I’m going to fall apart. Like I’m not capable of making hard choices.”She blinked fiercely, her throat tightening. "But I've made hard choices since the day your dad enter into our lives. Since the day I learned your dad planning to kill me and he included my brother Saben. And then you came along with your deals and your sweet lies, and I let myself think—I for a split second believed—maybe I could have something normal."Nathaniel opened his lips, but nothing came out.Damian stood stock still, as if someone had winded him.Eliana let go of the back of the frayed armchair as if she were the sole thing holding her together."Do you think I want thi

The room was dim, the wan gray light creeping through holes in the drapes. Eliana stood with arms crossed against her chest at the window, observing as the sky changed — black to blue, as if the world breathed in.She didn't catch the door's opening.Didn't catch the steps. But sensed him.Nathaniel."You should be sleeping," he whispered, his eyes closing as he closed the door. She didn't glance around. "So should you."A silence. Then his arrival at her."I couldn't sleep," he admitted. Her whisper a secret shared. "Neither could I."He stood behind her. Close enough to reach out and touch. Close enough to inhale the scent of her.But he didn't.Because he knew better. For if he'd have touched her back at the time, Nathaniel wasn't sure he ever would have let her go."Do you remember Nathaniel," Eliana gasped, "the first time we met?"Nathaniel smiled faintly. "It was your birthday that time ,You got mad at me easily?"Eliana smiled bitterly. "You were arrogant.""You were fire.""I

Dmitri’s smile stretched slow and serpentine across his face, eyes glinting like a blade catching light. “Good. Very good.”Nathaniel was on his feet in an instant. “You’re playing with fire, Eliana.”She stood tall, despite the quake in her chest. “Then let me burn.”Damian whistled low. "Remind me never to mess with you."Dmitri clapped once, the sound echoing through the warehouse like a shot. "Now we're getting somewhere. I like her. Too bad she's saddled with idiots."Nathaniel's glare could've softened steel. "If she gets hurt—""You'll do what? Growl at me?" Dmitri teased. "Relax, Harper. I'm not asking her to smuggle plutonium. Yet." He winked at Eliana. She didn't flinch. "What's the delivery?"Dmitri pulled out a weathered manila envelope from a locked drawer beneath the bar. “Coordinates. Names. A package.” He tossed it on the table. “You’ll take it to an old contact of mine. Neutral ground. He’ll trade it for something that might just help all of us survive William Harper.

Rain hit the hospital's glass windows, each drop reminding her that time was escaping her. Disinfectant and cold wind were the scents as Eliana stood stock-still in the hallway, her trembling hands clasped around the railing.Nathaniel Harper towered above her, his blue eyes veiled in desperation."You don't understand, Eliana. My dad—he's dead." His words were a growl, the words cutting through the air like the fine tooth of a blade.Eliana's swallow was concrete in her throat. "What do you mean?"Nathaniel sucked a rough breath into his chest, standing on the muscles in the back of his neck. "Vincent. My second. He's hunting me. Hunting you." His jaw hardened. "My father wants me to hurt. And he'll start with you."A chill ran through Eliana's body. As she thought about her answer, her ears picked up a voice that conquered the tension in the room.“I’d love to see him try Damian.”Damian Wolfe.Eliana had just time to see him leaning against the doorframe of the hospital room. The stillness of the hospital corridor had seemed so alien from the tempest of thoughts racing through Eliana's head. She sat with her elbows on her knees and fists clenched firmly together along the edge of a waiting-room chair. All this happened too suddenly yesterday.Damian Wolfe rested in his bed at the hospital, injured but recovering. Nathaniel Harper had defied his father and stood by her. And William Harper—cruel, killing, harsh—still existed, patiently waiting. She gasped sharply, trying to calm down. And then, in the midst of familiar quiet that was habitual, a voice interrupted."So… who's it going to be?"Eliana turned her head to look up at Sabrina Auburn looming over her, arms crossed, the wicked glint in her icy eyes.Eliana frowned. "What am I saying?"Sabrina chuckled, tilting her head to one side. "Come on, Eliana. I'm not dim. Two handsome, seriously sexy males hovering around you like wolves, ready to tear each other apart into shreds? It's practically a bloody mov

"I don't have time for rest."The physician huffed but nodded and left the room.William beside him, he placed a call on his phone.A mechanical voice answered. "Yes?"Harper in steel tones. "I want them all killed."There was a man in a suit beside him, tension in his shoulders. His voice even, controlled. "Understood. But. Your son, sir, is Nathaniel."William's fists were fists. Searing pain lightninged across his side, but he didn't care. He'd been shot once. He'd bled before. That wasn't paining him.Betrayal was.His own blood betrayed him.His own son.William's lips twisted into a sneer-grimace. "Not anymore."The man staggered. "Sir—"William's tone was icy. Nathaniel Harper stood in the dark of the hospital room, his fists clenched. The doctor had closed them into this small space, forcing them to confront each other in the intimate light of the bedside lamp.Years of their past hanging between them like a gauntlet.Damian spoke the first word softly."Trust you?" His voice was harsh, from pain and anger. "After all your family's done?"Nathaniel didn't blink. "I did not choose my name."Damian snorted with a bitter laugh. "No, but you damn well profited for years on it."Nathaniel's breath came harshly. "And now I'm suffering for defying it."Damian's glacial stare cut through him, searching for deceit. He was seeking to uncover a coward.A traitor. But what he did uncover instead?A man who'd lost everything.Nathaniel's voice lowered, a rough tone edging in. "William won't quit. You know that."Damian's jaw was locked. "Yeah. I know."Nathaniel paused, then moved closer. "Then let me help."Damian laughed. "Help? The last time I trust
