Wendy looked at Sabrina, her lips pursed tightly as her eyes welled with concern. "You don't have to do anything you don't want to do," she started softly. "But you need to think about what's best for Saben. He's growing up so fast, and one day, he'll be asking why his father didn't show up for him."

The frustration inside Sabrina became unbearable; she shot back, "I know that,Grandma" Wendy's words were so heavy to bear that Sabrina could hardly be patient as they sank on her shoulders. “I’m doing the best I can!. I am the one raising him. Not Benedict. Me."

Leila, the peacemaker, reached out to touch Sabrina's shoulder with a soft hand. "Sweetheart, I know it's hard. But maybe. maybe it's time to face him, even if it's just for Saben's sake."

Sabrina shook her head. Her frustration was building. "No, Mom. I can't. Each time I let him back in, it feels like reopening old wounds. It always ends the same. He doesn't care. He never has.".

"Sometimes," Wendy said, her voice firm, "we hav

Sabrina took a shuddering breath. She wanted so much to believe her grandmother. She wanted so desperately to trust that she would find the strength needed to get through this. But the doubt remained, shrouded at the periphery of her mind like the dark cloud that hovered off to one side. Then there was Benedict's echo, his sudden invasion into their lives. The doorbell rang, cutting the silence. Sabrina jumped in surprise at the sudden ringing of the doorbell. Leila got up with ease, but Sabrina didn't budge. She was in a state of deep thought, trying to connect the dots of her emotions.Wendy, however, noticed that tension in Sabrina's shoulders. "You are much stronger than you give yourself credit for, Sabrina. Even when you're weak, you rise. You always do."Sabrina looked at her grandmother. Her heart was heavy, yet strangely comforted by her words. It was true. She had risen. Even when Benedict's betrayal had well and truly shattered her, and everything she'd fought for seemed to

Teresa thought of everything and went wild with her thoughts. Los Angeles is the place for fashion and luxury, and it is right that Sabrina is there. She missed Sabrina as a mother misses her child and felt a very strong urge to find out what was going on with her grandchild."I want you to keep a close watch on her, Detective," Teresa said, her voice steady and cold. "I need every piece of information you can gather. Where does Sabrina live? What school does her son Saben attend? I want to meet them in person.""Understood, Mrs. Thompson. We'll continue monitoring her and keep you informed of any new developments," the detective replied.Hanging up the phone, Teresa slumped in her chair and leaned back and stared out into the window as the sky was now spread before her. Now she only focused on that: Sabrina had gone off with a child. Even though Sabrina built the best possible life for herself, all of that aside, it meant to Teresa if Saben was really her grandchild, that she should

Teresa sat on the sofa and gazed at her phone; on its screen, a message from an investigator was staring back. Inside, everything she had: the office address of Sabrina, along with her mobile phone number. As she began rereading, her hands became slightly trembling. Mixed within her was excitement and nervousness as well as this yearning deep in to reconnect again. For a moment, she hesitated. What would Sabrina think? Would she even respond? Would she be angry that Teresa had gone to such lengths to find her? Despite the fears, Teresa knew this was something she had to do. She couldn't let another day go by without trying.Deep breathing in, Teresa opened the messaging application and started typing on her device.Teresa:Sabrina,This is Teresa Thompson. This shadow, the shadow of the betrayal Clara, the lover of Benedict, had waited for, just begun to glow in Sabrina's life. All these years she was there but always on the sidelines watching with her eagle eye. Benedict's attentions waxed and waned toward Sabrina after all these years, and what drove Clara now was jealousy mixed with a desperate refusal to let go of what she thought hers. If Clara could not have Benedict then she could ruin Sabrina's life. Clara sat in her plush apartment, tapping the long, polished fingernails of her hand against the champagne flute.A wicked grin crept across her face as she opened up her laptop and scrolled through photos and whispers of Sabrina's success. Sabrina Ultra, the brand, was now the epitome of elegance and resilience, of strength and creativity. That was the thing Clara had hated about it. A knock on the door pulled her from her thoughts, and Penelope entered, her face set with determination. “The PR team is ready to draft a response. Also, the legal team is preparing to send a cease-and-desist to Clara.” Sabrina nodded. “Good. Let’s make it clear that I’m not going to let this slide.” As Penelope left to tidy up the loose ends, Sabrina's phone buzzed with a message. It was from an unknown number: "Enjoy your moment in the spotlight, Sabrina. It won't last long."Her hands gripped the phone tightly, her pulse racing. Clara wasn't finished yet—but neither was she. The next evening, she stormed into an exclusive restaurant where she knew Clara was dining. Heads turned as she crossed the room, exuding the aura of grandeur. Clara looked up to pretend surprise."Ah, if it isn't the woman of the hour," Clara said mockingly, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Cut the drama," Sabrina snapped. Gradually, Sabrina began to discover another Benedict. He had come off of that workaholic, snobbish man she was acquainted with earlier. He proved to be patient, attentive, and truly committed to amends. Whether helping Saben build a treehouse in the backyard or volunteering to cook family dinners – much though his culinary skills left many things to be desired - actions were louder than words for Benedict. One evening, as Benedict tucked Saben into bed, Sabrina stood by the door, quietly observing. Saben had his giggles as Benedict attempted to read him the bedtime story in funny voices, his deep baritone an amusing contrast for the whimsical characters."Goodnight, Daddy.""Goodnight, champ," replied Benedict, leaning forward to kiss his forehead. And then Benedict turned and met Sabrina's gaze. Some things said no word. But in the expression exchanged, forgiveness did not shine. Still, there was some sort of acknowledgment made here—a tiny baby step toward mutual comprehension.Ben

From then on, Benedict accepted fatherhood with a vengeance in him. He set out and, for the first time ever in his life, chose to be in Saben's life. The same corporate head who used to pride himself on contracts signed, profits generated, and profits accounted for now stood beside those he had never meant for anything. Each morning, Benedict made it a point to drive to the Taylor mansion to have breakfast with Saben. The first time he arrived, the boy’s face lit up with pure delight. “You’re here, Daddy!” Saben exclaimed, running into Benedict’s arms. It was a moment Benedict would never forget—the simple yet profound joy of his son’s embrace.Benedict started planning his days around Saben, such that he was there for every milestone that occurred. Whether it was school events or homework, he was also there to cheer him through soccer practice.“Daddy, look!” Saben called one afternoon, holding up a drawing he had made of their family. It was a colorful crayon illustration of Saben,

Benedict's jaw clenched in place. He seemed to be flashing a fleeting guilt across his face. "Because I see it now. I see what I lost. I see what I could've had if I had been the man she needed me to be back then. I'm not asking for forgiveness, Mrs. Taylor—I know I don't deserve it yet. But I'm asking for a chance. A chance to earn back their trust."Wendy's eyes softened ever so slightly, but her voice remained firm. "This isn't about earning trust, Benedict. It's about proving you're worth the pain they've endured. If you falter, if you let them down again, it won't just break their hearts-it will destroy them. Can you carry that burden?"Benedict straightened, his resolve hardening. "I can. I will.Wendy’s silence returned, but this time, there was a flicker of approval in her eyes. “We shall see,” she murmured, her voice thoughtful. “You’ve taken the first step, but there are many more ahead.”As they left the study, the tension eased slightly. As Benedict stood there, his eyes remained fixed on Saben, so did Sabrina's voice break the silence. "This is Saben, Benedict," she said. His breath hitched; he took a step closer; his eyes never left Saben."Saben …" he whispered, in awe and regret.Saben looked at him curiously, clutching his drawing. "You my daddy?" he said, his innocent voice penetrating Benedict's heart.Benedict knelt before him, the tears building in his eyes. "Yes, Saben," he said, trying to sound steady. "I am your daddy."Saben's lips curled into a small smile. "Mommy said you're a good man.Benedict looked at Sabrina, his eyes full of thanks and tears. "I am trying to be," he whispered, turning back to Saben. "I promise I will never leave you again."Teresa came forward, her face wet with tears. Clara fumed furiously as she paced around her fancy penthouse, her phone clutched tightly to her ear. It was after the press conference was over, and Benedict's words echoed in her brain like a cruel reminder of her defeat. She thought that by spreading lies against Sabrina, she would destroy her and get ahead in Benedict's life, but little did she know that the man would do the unthinkable to her—he would publicly declare to the world that he stood with Sabrina and his child. Her hands were shaking with anger as she dialed Benedict's number. She needed to see him, make him see reason. This could not be the end. "Clara," he said, his voice level, as if he were already tired of this conversation. "You think you can just go ahead and declare to the world that Sabrina and you have a child together, and that is going to be all right?" Clara's voice was acid sharp, laced with venom."You embarrassed me. You broke me!" Benedict let out a heavy sigh. "Clara, it needs to stop now. I am not do

The day of the press conference arrived, and Benedict stood before the flashing cameras, his face a mixture of determination and frustration. He knew this wasn’t just about clearing his name—it was about protecting Sabrina, their son Saben, and the family he had let fall apart for far too long. The room was crammed full of reporters, with their microphones extended toward him, like vultures waiting to snatch the first drop of blood. Benedict cast a glance in the direction of his PR team, who were nodding as if every thing was in place. Benedict cleared his throat and advanced toward the podium, his deep voice cutting across the noise."Good afternoon, everyone. Thank you for being here," Benedict started, his voice low but firm. "I've called this press conference to address the recent allegations surrounding my family, specifically regarding my relationship with Sabrina Auburn and the child we have together, Saben."The murmurs in the room went louder, but Benedict kept his hand up, s
