Naya's POVI was surprised as Talon rattled off the precautions we needed to take to ensure my safety. He had clearly done his research and knew exactly what to do to protect me and our unborn child. But despite his efforts, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was burdening him. I honestly wanted to know how he got so good in the precautionary methods he was taking, but I didn’t know how I was going to ask him. I felt that it would steer up some sort of argument. I didn’t want to get into any fights with Talon. I just wanted us to live in peace and harmony. I liked how things had been moving smoothly with Talon and I. I saw the niceness in him that I had never seen before. And, I wasn’t willing to take him for granted, especially after what he had done for me. I didn’t want to feel too entitled even if I was carrying his child. So, I sat him down and told him everything. How I felt like a weight on his shoulders, how I didn't want to hold him back. Talon was hurt by my words, and
Eric's POVI sat in my room, deep in thought about the property. It had been on my mind for weeks, and I couldn't seem to shake it. I just couldn't forget how Talon and Naya had deceived me without a single thought. If Talon had not lied to me, the property would’ve been his a long time ago, but he did lie. I didn’t want to make a mistake in handing over the property to just anyone. I admit that Nelson was my son, but I just felt like he wasn’t the perfect match for the property. I felt like he wasn’t ready to handle what lies ahead. He had been so desperate in having the property to the extent that he had grown to hate me fot not handing over the property to him. Talon on the other hand had kept a low profile since his fight with Nelson. He didn’t say a word to me, just like I said none to him too. But, who really was going to be fit to handle the property? Was it Talon whom I had lost faith in? Or, was it Nelson the over ambitious son of mine? Or, perhaps an outsider? Just as I w
Naya's POVTalon and I had finally managed to get to the Thwaites mansion. It wasn’t an easy decision for us to make, but we ensured that we made it to the dinner. I was dressed in a green flowing gown with a white semi-heeled shoe to match. I made an extremely light makeup and I combed my hair to the back. Talon on the other hand wore a neat and shiny black suit. I’m pretty sure that he wanted to impress his dad with his dress sense. After all, his dad had not seen him that way for a while, ever since he cut Talon off. We had a little chit chat before we proceeded to go to the mansion. Talon had told me to stay calm and not forget that he was going to be there for me if I ever had difficulty speaking up. He made it clear to me that he cared about me and the baby and didn’t want to stress me out. We promised each other to leave the mansion immediately if the place ever got too stuffy or toxic. I had thought that I was the only one who was tense, but Talon seemed to be more anxious
Naya’s POVTalon and I left Eric's house feeling relieved and happy. I could sense that Talon was proud of me for making the announcement about our pregnancy, and it made me feel even more grateful for him.“I really appreciate what you did back there. It must’ve taken a lot of courage for you to have stood up to speak. Your speech changed the atmosphere. Everyone was quiet at first, not until you spoke. I want you to know that I’m proud of you,” he said. I was literally blushing. Talon had never told me directly that he was proud of me. He had made it seem like he was in several occasions, especially since we got closer. But, he had never told me directly that he was proud of me. Now that he told me, I couldn’t stop smiling.“Really, Talon?” I said trying to act surprised.“Yes, Naya. Thank you for what you did back there. I didn’t even expect us to have such a nice and peaceful dinner, but we did. Did you even notice how happy my dad was? I thought he brought us here to scold us, b
Naya’s POVThe next day, I woke up feeling nauseous and headed straight to the bathroom to throw up. Talon woke up with me, looking worried. I assured him that it was just morning sickness and that I would be fine. However, he insisted that we go to the hospital for my first check-up and ultrasound. I tried to decline, but he wasn’t having it. He told me that he didn’t want to take chances. He said that he wanted to make sure that I was fine, as he didn’t want anything to happen to me or the baby. All my efforts to tell him that we shouldn’t go to the hospital fell on deaf eyes. So, I took a warm bath and got ready. I wore a loose gown that made it easy for me to move around. While I waited for Talon to get dressed, I got ready too. I did a light makeup on my face. Soon Talon was out of the bathroom and he began to dress in front of me. He made sure to go completely naked in front of me, and I could see how he looked at me seductively. I wasn’t ready to make love that morning; I ju
Naya’s POVFew days past and I had to admit that Talon was a whole new person. I was deeply surprised by his actions. A lot had changed about him. He had been distant and aloof for as long as I could remember. He would come home from work and barely speak a word to me. I never knew what was going on in his life, or what he was feeling. But something had changed. He came back from work and told me everything about his day. “Hello, Naya,” he said with a wry smile on his face.“Welcome home, Talon,” I said in a calm tone.“How has your day been?” “So far, it’s been nice.”“That’s good to know. I hope you didn’t have a hard time at home with anything?”“Not at all. I’ve been fine all the while,” I said with a smile. I was happy that he was concerned about me. His niceness and calmness towards me was second to none. I could see it deep down that he genuinely cared for me.I added, “Tell me about your day at work today.”“Well, it’s a good thing you asked.” He reciprocated with a smile.“
Talon's POVI rushed Naya to the hospital. She had passed out due to stress, and I was extremely worried about her. I couldn't get the picture of her smiling towards me before she passed out, out of my head. I wanted her to be okay and free from any form of stress. I loved her and she was carrying my child. I had every reason to protect her. The hospital staff did their best to reassure me that she would be fine, but I couldn't shake off the feeling of helplessness that I felt at that moment. Deep down, I wanted to shake the feeling off my head. I wanted to be normal and hope for the best. But, my fears piled up. I didn’t want anything bad to happen to the woman I loved or my baby. They both had a special place in my heart, and I was not ready to replace them. I knew at some point that I had to be strong for Naya. When Naya finally woke up, I knew that it was time for us to have a heart-to-heart conversation. I gently encouraged her to open up to me and tell me what was on her mind.
Naya's POVI met Nelson in a restaurant for dinner, hoping to catch up on lost time and rebuild our friendship. But the conversation took a strange turn, and before I knew it, we were discussing Talon and his ongoing property dispute with his brother. When Nelson arrived, I could see the guilt in his eyes. He knew that he had let his down, and he didn't know how to make things right. That was my own version of the look I saw on his face. I asked him why he hadn't been there for me when I needed him the most, and he told me that he was afraid of making things worse. I was taken aback by his response. I had never thought that Nelson was the kind of person who would be afraid of confronting his problems head-on. But I could see that he was genuinely sorry for his behavior, and I decided to forgive him.I couldn't help but feel frustrated and confused about why Talon was still fighting with his brother, even though he had already won the property. It seemed like a petty and unnecessary c
