Miguel's POV

" If you check in page two of the contract papers before you, everything you asked to facilitate this business transaction are all in there." I said with a calm tone as I looked at the three gentlemen that were sitting in front of me.

One of the men whispered into the ear of the man sitting in their middle. Immediately the middle man picked up the pen and signed the paper.

" Congratulations Mr Martinez, I anticipate doing business with you." He said stretching his hand out for a handshake. I quickly locked my hands with his.

" You would not regret it for one day." I said confidence in my tone. Now, that is how to seal a contract legally.

Being a CEO for the past two months has proven to be very stressful. I had made so many tough decisions, taken so many risk, made a few losses and bagged a lot of contract. People expected me to be like the former CEO, my father. They expected me to have to bribe people and companies into entering a contract with me. But where is the val

Elena's POVFlashback I sat in a corner of the cafeteria as I watched everyone. Every other person were eating lunch like kings except me who had just two fingers of banana and a bottle of water. That's what people who enter Ivy league schools by scholarship are made to go through. I felt so out of place in this school but I had to take the opportunity when they offered me scholarship. My eyes scanned around the rich children as I ate my banana and my eyes met with hers. It was the Lawson heiress, I always wanted to be like her. She looked away after a few minutes. I had to make her my friend that way I stop being an outcast. After school I took a bold step to meet with her. I stood in front of my locker watching her. As she was about to go out through the exit, I walked backwards, and bumped into her making her books fall" I'm so sorry." I said as I helped her pick the books up." It's fine" she said with a small smile as she took the books from my hand." My name is Elena"" I'm

Isabel POVI poured more wine into my cup left resting back to focus on the television. I had streamed the whole product launch event of Martinez corporation since I was unable to go. I was glad I could help him with his product. My eyes caught a glimpse of someone, Antonio. He was greeting Miguel Martinez with Elena by his side. My phone vibrated and I checked the caller.Miguel Martinez. As expected. I connected the automated voice before swiping the answer button." Good evening, Miss Cruz." My eyes widened in realization. How did he even get to know my gender? I decided to play dumb knowing that he could be playing mind games." Good evening Mr Martinez, lovely event you had."" Well, you couldn't show up to even give your speech yourself, how can you be so sure." " I apologise for my absence but it was inevitable." " I understand, you clean up so good though. No one has ever seen you not even at your merchandise drop off locations."" Someone had been doing a background check

Isabel POV I stood in front of the restaurant staring at the familiar door. It looks like I've obviously been here before, I gasp as my assistant the memory flowed right back." No." I voiced out. " What do you mean no?" Talia asked confused at my facial expression." Are you sure this is the venue?" " Yes, this area has been secluded for a while so there aren't much people here." " I can't go into that restaurant." I said walking back to the car. " What do you mean? You said you have to save your company?" She said following me closely behind." Yes, that exactly what I said but not this venue. No hear." Tears were already streaming down my cheeks and my hands were vibrating. " What's wrong Isabel? Talk to me please." She pleaded this time in a calm voice. " I can't just go through that door, I just can't." I said before entering the car.I sat down in my room curled up in one corner of the room. Miguel POVI paced the length of my room as I waited impatiently for the effect of my act. Few minutes later I heard the shrill sound of my ringtone. I smirk knowing I have the upper arm. I swiped the answer button." You better have a good explanation." I said immediately the call connected." You are breeching your contract by withdrawing your shares before the end of the said contract." I was suprised at her choice of word. I had expected her to have been begging for forgiveness but rendered me speechless." You also didn't keep your end of the deal." I said " Last I remember the contract was I help you with your product and you invest in my company. There was a stipulated period of time for your shares to remain with us." She said. The perfect comeback. " Right now, what you are hearing are called speculations, rumours that the Martinez corporation are going to stop doing business with Cruz group. I have not withdrawn from your company, at least not yet. If I don't get my reques

Miguel POV " You better have a fucking good reason why you followed me down here." I said in a low tone to Vanessa." Chill out, I'm not following you. I have business here." She said taking a sip from the glass of scotch in her hand. "Business? So what are you doing at my parents house?" " Well it's been long I saw you and your parents are really lovely people. So I just decided to drop by." She said with a smirk." I don't want to see you near me or my family, keep your distance." I said before walking away. Sleeping was harder as I kept replaying my meeting with Miss Cruz. She is quite mysterious and intriguing. " A merger? How bad could that be?." I asked to myself. I get to help her company and she also gets to help me. Those were the thought that filled my mind before I was welcomed by sleep.I rolled my box against the airport tiles as I approached the departure area. I was to fly to Korea to seal a business deal. I can't sit here and watch them enjoy what Dad worked for."" Then how do I help, you know I retired a long time ago." " You still have shares in the company right?" Miguel's POV I scanned through the many papers on my desk before glancing at my wristwatch at different interval. I was trying to work but I found it very hard to do so. The thought of the date I was going to have with Isabel this night filled my mind. After I was back from Korea, I talked to the board of directors and they welcomed the idea of the merger. We decided to keep it low for a while, though that was majorly Isabel's Idea. I took a look at the time one more time and it was six o'clock already. Immediately, I got up packing my stuffs to go. I heard a knock on the door and I groaned a 'come in' knowing exactly who it was. Jerry." Sir, your meeting with the Barnum's is in the next thirty minutes. Where are you going?" He asked looking at me with a confused expression on his face." What does it look like? I'm going home." " Home? How? Sir you specifically told me you had to have this meeting today." He stuttered." Good evening Ma'am, I believe you're Isabel." I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. Why was someone else with his phone." Yes I am, anything the problem?" " Well, the owner of this phone had a very horrible accident and has been rushed to the emergency unit of St Agnes hospital."" Is he ok?" I asked as I threw on a joggers and some sweatshirt. " He was still breathing as at when I brought him in. Call his family members if you know any of them." " Ok" I stuttered, I was already having a panic attack. Tears streaming down my face and me frantically running around searching for my keys." Talia!" I heard a muffled yes before she I heard her footsteps.

Isabel POVI sat on the edge of the couch, the weight of the past few days pressing heavily on my chest.Miguel and Marissa were huddled at the table, their voices low as they reviewed the plan Victor had laid out. It was straightforward in theory: expose the information in the ledger through multiple channels to ensure it couldn't be suppressed. But in practice, it felt like a gamble with stakes far too high.I clutched the coffee mug in my hands, the heat seeping through my fingers as I tried to focus."You're quiet," Miguel said, his voice breaking through my thoughts.I looked up, meeting his steady gaze. "Just thinking.""Care to share?"I hesitated, then set the mug down. "Gideon's too calm. He's always a step ahead. Isabel POVMiguel sat at the table; the ledger spread open in front of him. His brow furrowed as he flipped through its pages."What does it say?" I asked, breaking the silence. "It's not just numbers. There are names—people who worked with Gideon, who funded him, who stood by while he ruined lives."A chill ran down my spine. "Do you recognize any of them?"Miguel nodded slowly. "This one. Senator Halstead. If he's involved, it's bigger than we thought."Miguel POVEach entry wasn't just evidence—it was a ticking time bomb.Marissa paced near the window, her sharp eyes scanning the tree line. "Halstead is untouchable," she said, her voice low but firm. "If we go after him, we'll need more than this." She gestured toward the ledger.I leaned back, running a hand through my hair. "He's not the only one. Look at this—bank accounts, shell companies. Isabel POVGideon stepped inside. His gaze sweeping the room with cold detachment. He looked at me last, his smirk twisting into something cruel.“Well, isn’t this cozy,” he drawled, tilting his head as if he were examining a piece of art. “Miguel, Marissa, and the ever-elusive Isabel. What a delightful reunion.”Miguel shifted, placing himself squarely between Gideon and me. His gun was steady, aimed at Gideon’s chest. “You’ve gone too far, Gideon.”Gideon laughed, the sound low and humorless. “Have I? Because from where I’m standing, I’d say I’m right on track.”Miguel POVI didn’t lower my weapon. “Call off your men,” I said, my voice as sharp as the tension in the air.His smirk widened. “What makes you think I need them?
