King Alec's POV
5 YEARS LATER
I paced around the throne room, frustration in every step, a growl emitting from my clenched lips, moving back and forth.
Failure.
Everything we had done so far was a failure. The magic around the barrier killed all those who went in just like that stupid witch Emma.
If this expedition would prove futile then all would be lost. 2 years we had searched, ever since the dark witch revealed to us the token that could pass through the dragon barrier.
Learning of it was easy.
Finding it was harder.
ABIGAIL's POV I passed through the dark streets, being extremely careful to hide in the shadows taking off the invisibility hood I had on. No witch really used these anymore, it was much easier to do the spell, but Magic didn't work in Paria. I was almost out of Paria the neutral city where all kinds lived, the Free, they called themselves living under the King of Kings palace I had just escaped, past Paria. I hitched a ride on a wagon heading out of the city. I felt weary and tired after my big heist. Those little blood suckers were dumber than I thought. I held the bangle.in my hands quickly tracing over it. It was nothing special, it looked like a token the Parian merchants would sell. Did king Alec really think his little soldiers could kill the dragon prince? If I was able to infiltrate theirlittle barriers what more a dragon? No, I would be the one to end the little princes life.
Abigail's POV:Walking around the forest aimlessly, I was now completely sure I had lost Edwin and his father. Somehow in this large forest, the great mother witch was lost.I scoffed at the thought, pushing my large hood back, starting up at the trees to get some sense of direction. They towered over me, almost blocking the fading moonlight. The sun was almost coming up and the mist had lifted, even inside the dark forest which surprised me because I swore the dark forest always had mist, whether in daylight and darkness. It was a clever protection spell, I thought to myself. Misty on the outside but clear inside.I kept on walking though I had no clue where I was or in which direction I was heading, which was definitely not wise for someone in my position, hence I opted to rest, sitting down on a large nearby rock. Here I rested, watching the sun rise once more, Era
Abigail POV I slowly followed Tar into the forest with little Edwin grasping my hand making small talk as we walked. He kept on talking about how much he hated Devina and apparently a whole list of other watchers he had. He claimed they were too old and boring, never failing to mention how mean they were.I chuckled here and there as he spoke not missing everytime Tar glanced back at us, raising one of his bushy eyebrows. We walked for what seemed like fifteen minutes, before arriving at a clearing and then I saw it. The dragon settlement in the forest. It looked like a large village, a busy village, trees crossing paths in different ways, huts spaced in a very orderly manner. Smoke showing in the distance. It was unlike any I had ever thought. I could have mistaken it for one of the smaller towns before Paria or past the borders of Riota. It was strange how walki
ABIGAILS POVI played with my fingers nervously humming a little tune to keep me calm as the carriage started off. The royal carriage was white with a golden dragon crest on its side. Seated next to me was Edwin. Tar was seated opposite us with a parchment in his hands. Edwin couldn't keep his excitement in as he kept on twitching and twisting in his seat.Clearly he was excited to meet his friend. I looked out the window still humming softly an ancient lullaby my aunt always used to sing to me when I was little. I felt very nervous. In these last two weeks I had spent in the dragon settlement, I learnt a few things about the dragon community. Firstly the large dragon village we currently were situated in was Gard (pronounced guard) .Much to my dismay, it wasn't the only dragon village in this vast forest. There was another large village c
ABIGAIL'sPOV I stood inside the large room near the door as the queen proceeded to enter. The first thing i noticed was thelarge bed draped around by curtains, then the silence that followed. "Azian.. Baby" Queen Rebecca eased. I heard a little groan coming from the large bed. A small figure moving. "look who I've brought to see you, " "no puppies, " I breathed out nervously after hearing his voice. I don't know how to explain
ABIGAIL'S POVI looked around my little cottage and breathed in the familiar fragrance of my home.Strangely, even though I had been away for two weeks, there was not a speck of dust to be seen. It was as if someone had thoroughly swept and wiped every inch of my cottage but everything was still in the exact same place. My roses that lay beside my window still looked healthy despite the fact that I had not watered them for two weeks. Strange. I heard a soft whimper and I quickly headed toward my bedroom. Edwin had sat up in bed and was now rubbing his eyes, and trying to adjust the light. They had been asleep all through the night. When we came back to Riota, the only place I could think of where they could stay and rest was my little cottage. It was hidden well away in the mountains already due t
ANNAS POV.I heard the scream and looked at Abigail, who was quickly heading to her bedroom after Edwin.I followed my heart thumping coldly beneath its pale skin,Had she really brought back the so called golden prince? My veins boiled with anger, she was supposed to kill him.Micheal died because of her carelessness. My husband, the father of my child. No one was worth his life.I had to see this so called prince who had changed ABIGAILS mind.I walked into the bedroom and found Abigail and Edwin beside someone, Abigail was muttering something underneath her breath.Edwin moved and I could see a mop of golden hair, his face was facing away from me, but even so I felt shiver roll up my spine.Suddenly he turned to face me and I gasped .He was wide awake, his eyes held mine intently, light blue yet turned deep, his favc&
ABIGAILS POV A liche dragon? Raising people from the dead? all this seemed all too risky. I turned to look at Anna, her fists were tightly clenched before she reached out to take my hand giving it a tight squeeze. "h-have you everdone this before? " I asked him. Edwin paused for a second befoe nodding," I have-but not humans," he clarified, "small birds and such," he concluded. I breathed out. i didnt know if that was good eniugh, but i do know there was a price we would have to pay. The stronger the magic you used the higher th consequences. "Please, "Anna pleaded, "if you can do it, even theslightest possibility, please try, "Anna pleaded. i shook my head turning to Anna, "i dont think we should- raising a man from the grave? thats dark magic Anna, nothing possibly good can come bac
