Fido thought he had gotten his way as he pushed Randolph out of the way to get to Hermosa's side and before he could do anything, Randolph pulled the trigger on him.

A loud bang rang out in the small underground space and Fido collapsed stiffly beside Hermosa.

She only felt her stomach flip and covered her mouth as she subconsciously stepped back, only to have Randolph's hand firmly clamped down, the muzzle of the gun with its residual heat pressed against his temple.

Brent didn't know how he'd made it to the basement with such difficulty.He also failed to notice the blood that trickled from his leg's wound as he moved.
