Aurora's POV
My world crashed before my eyes, I was angry, I was sad yet I couldn't do anything about it, I couldn't even express myself. “She has to return to her pack, Will she be accepted? I don't think Alpha Elijah marked her as his mate, What will she do now? Will she be bullied again? Who will accept her now? Even if someone was going to accept her, it would be someone of a lower rank or someone who doesn't have a status, Her family will definitely have a lot to spend, She might be alone forever, Or she might end up being a mute mistress, What will happen to her now?” I shut my eyes tight as I could hear these whispers loud and clear. I couldn't dare look into their eyes, I could feel them judging me. I laughed within myself, I should be the one rejecting him in front of everyone but he was doing it, my life was a fucking joke. I walked to meet Indigo, “Please, save me, please.” Indigo looked at me with indifference, this was the first time she looked at me this way, she had always had nothing but love for me but today was different. “Aurora, I can't help you, I'm not the one cheating on you, it's your husband Alpha Elijah who is cheating,” Indigo hugged me, “Just the way your Mother destroyed my mother's marriage, that's just the way I will destroy yours.” I pulled away from the hug and stared at her in disbelief. Did she pretend to like me all these time? All to make me suffer for what our parents did? How could she? I trusted her. “I guess the party's over, I will be taking my leave,” The Lycan King said. The moment he stepped out of the ballroom, people followed him and the room became empty. “You bastard, how could you, why did you do that? I curse you Elijah,” I asked angrily. “What is she saying?” Elijah yelled. To my surprise Elena slapped him across the face, “You bastard, have you gone mad!!!” Elijah yelled as his face turned red. Elena went on her knees and bowed before Elijah, “Alpha Elijah, I'm sorry, I deserved to be hanged for it but my lady asked me to slap you,” Elena pretended to cry at Elijah's feet. Elijah closed his eyes trying to control his anger, “Aurora, you and your minions have twenty minutes to get out of my house, I'm going to step out and when I get back, there shouldn't be any trace of you.” I sat in my room emotionless, my brain was on total shut down as I watched Elena pack my things into my box. “Are you okay?” I nodded my head. I wanted to cry but I couldn't cry. “Let's go,” Scott said, he helped Elena carry my things to the carriage and I followed them. I was scared, I didn't want to return to my house, Father was barely around and this could only mean I will stay with his family and they would make my life miserable. I also didn't want to return to the diamond pack. My parents may accept me into their home but will the pack accept me back? “Lady Aurora is here!!!” The guard announced as I entered the house. The servant at home helped me carry my things from the carriage to my room. “Look who has disgraced our pack and is finally back,” My stepmother clapped her hands, “It was difficult getting you married to such a person of high rank and you spoiled it all.” “Let my daughter rest, she just came back home for the first time since she got married,” Father smiled. I searched his eyes and there was no sign of disappointment. “Thank you,” I smiled at Father. “Remember, you are my daughter and nobody else matters in this world,” Father replied in sign language and it brought joy to my heart. “Yes, you should rest, it would be impossible to arrange your marriage to someone of higher rank so we will settle for a non ranked,” My stepmother hissed. I was already disgusted by her being near me. “I should go upstairs and rest,” I informed Father. Stepmother didn't understand what we were saying as she never wanted to learn sign language. I went up to my room and shut the world out. I didn't want any disturbance. Night turned into day, day turned into days, then weeks. I thought it would get better but nothing, I was worse than ever, I didn't like going out, stepmother has been making it difficult for me anytime the suitors she brings home reject me. “My lady, it's time for your lunch,” Elena said as she knocked gently on my door. I ignored her and continued reading the book Father had given to me from one of his travels. “My lady, you skipped your meal yesterday and this morning so please eat something today,” Elena knocked again. “My child, you have to eat so you can go to the market, a new fabric is out and I have asked the modistes to keep some for you,” I ran and opened the door when I heard Father's voice. “Father, what kind of fabric is it?” I asked excitedly. “Eat first then you and Elena would go and see the fabric,” I smiled and nodded my head. I wasn't hungry but I forced myself to eat something so I could go to the market. “A suitor would come today, his family have agreed to marry Aurora, he is the last son of Omega Nickolas, his name is David and he is kind of slow, he also has hearing issues,” Stepmother said and I dropped my fork. This was part of the reason why I didn't like coming down for my meal, because my stepmother would always say something crazy. “Their world is going to be so quiet for both of them,” Indigo laughed as she passed the dining room to her room. “I will get snacks at the market, let's go to the modistes and Father, I don't need the carriages today,” I stood up. “It's your favourite colour,” Father said in sign language and I nodded my head and left without saying goodbye to stepmother. “Wait here, let me get the snacks,” Elena said, leaving me at the corner of the market, where there was barely anyone and I nodded my head even though she had already left. “Isn't that the mute?” My wolf heard someone say from a far distance. Not now, please wolf, don't pick up any sound, please. “I hate her so much,” Someone said. “Me too, she won't even be able to speak, how about we teach her a lesson?” Another said and they burst into laughter. My legs began to shake as I heard their footsteps approaching, oh my heavens, where was Elena now? “Hi dummy,” one of them pushed my head. “What's the use of greeting her? She can't speak,” One of them said and they all laughed. “This is going to be fun,” One of them said and they began to transform into their wolves form one by one. I moved back out of fear, I doubt they would understand anything I tried to say. “Move,” I heard someone say. Huh? Whose voice was that? I looked around and it was weird because I heard it in my head. That was telepathy, it could only happen between mates but I was mateless. One of the wolves ran to attack me, “I said move!!” The voice yelled and I moved, just then a branch fell and injured the wolf. I looked around and saw Elena wasn't anywhere near and I couldn't even tell who the owner of the voice was. “Let's run, else we would get killed,” My wolf said and without any warning, she transformed and started running while the other wolves were running to attack us.Aurora's POVI ran as my legs could take me but the wolves appeared from nowhere and attacked me. I was fighting for my life when another wolf, who came from heaven knows where and attacked the other wolves. I was surprised how just one wolf attacked many wolves till they ran away.I was weak and transformed into a human, I used my hand to cover the intimate part of my body. The person who turned into a wolf turned back into his human form and his guard handed him a long robe and he wore the robe over his body.“Are you that easy to bully?” The person said without facing me. That was the voice I heard earlier.“Get her something to wear from the market,” he instructed one of his guards without sparing me a glance.I was grateful, he respected me and didn't turn but who was this man? What was the reason I could hear his voice? The guard handed me a garment and I wore it. “Are you that weak that you can't fight them off?” he turned to look at me and surprised rather shocked appeared on
Aurora's POV The ballroom fell into total silence as everyone watched with different expressions on their faces. What was this? What exactly does this man want? I have nothing to offer, so why was he asking for my hand in marriage right in front of everyone? “So will you take my offer, Aurora?” The Lycan King, Tristan asked with a smile on his face. Even at this moment, my eyes searched the crowd for my ex-husband, Alpha Elijah, and he also looked shaken. “That's a rather hastening decision Lycan,” Father stood between us, “And at that in front of everyone.” I let out a breath of relief when I saw Father in my front. Thank goodness, because how would I have dealt with this situation? “I'm speaking to the lady in question. Do you have a problem with that, sir?” Tristan furrowed his left eyebrows. “My daughter is tired and must retire home,” Father bowed his head as a sign of respect, “Elena you should take her home.” I turned back one more time; Father and the Lycan King were
Lycan Tristan's POVI sat on the bed while the maids massaged my legs and my hair with oil.The first time I saw Aurora, there was something about her that intrigued me so badly, and proposing to her at the party last night wasn't part of my plan. It just kinda happened.“What madness was that?” Mother barged into my room.“We should learn to knock,” with a wave of my hand, the maids picked up their things and left my room, “What madness are we talking about?”“Why did you make such an announcement in front of everyone?” Mother scoffed and folded her hands across her chest.“About my marriage?” I stood up, walked to the table, and poured wine into a cup for her, “I thought you would be happy that I was getting married?”I handed Mother the wine, but she ignored it, and I kept it back on the table, “Yes, I'm happy that my son would finally be getting married, but to a mute? Hell no, I thought it would be Ava.”“Ava?” I raised my left eyebrow, “Ava isn't bad; given the chance, I would m
Aurora's POVFather would never do such a thing, he would never get me married to anyone without telling me. That was Stepmother's nature, not Father's nature.Elena held my hand, “You should understand your father,” I pushed her hand from mine and ran inside the house.“Why would you bring us here to insult us?!” Omega Nickolas yelled at stepmother, and I didn't even care, “We will get to the bottom of this,” He held his wife's hand and left.“Why did you do that without consulting me first?!!” stepMother yelled, “Didn't I say I was going to get one of our youngest daughters married to the Lycan so why did you arrange your daughter's marriage with him?!!”I was angry at Father, but seeing the situation, I couldn't say anything, “Father did the right thing,” Justin said, “I would have done it if he hadn't done it.”“Excuse me?” Stepmother spat as she placed her hand on her waist.“Your eldest daughter destroyed her first Marriage and now you want to get your younger daughter married t
Aurora's POV Looking at myself in the mirror, I could see a girl wearing a beautiful wedding dress with no smile on her face. She didn't look happy. I prayed something would happen and the wedding would get canceled but nothing. I was staring at my empty self, waiting to be taken to the altar. “You look beautiful, even more precious than last time,” Elena complimented but I wasn't feeling any compliment at the time. “What's going on now?” I asked curiously, “I have been in this dressing room for a long time.” “Nothing, your Father will come soon; everyone is already at the church waiting,” Happiness radiated from Elena's face as she stared at me. “Aurora,” I turned towards the door when I heard Father's voice and I ran to hug him, “Let's go,” I nodded my head and followed Father. I held Father by his arms as we walked down the aisle; the hall was so full, and there weren't many people at my wedding with Alpha Elijah, but this was different. I lowered my gaze the whole time to
Aurora's POV When the light came on, the concern on Tristan's face slowly turned to disappointment then anger. “What the hell are you doing in my room?!!!” Tristan yelled and I felt it in my bones, “Why are you dressed like that?” What type of stupid question was he asking? Didn't he ask them to take me to this room earlier and wasn't he the one who kept this night garment on the bed? “How dare you come into my room dressed in such a manner?!!” Tristan yelled, he looked around the room with disgust, “What is going on with my room? Why is it like that?” I could feel the anger all the way across the room, Tristan picked up a robe and shoved it forcefully into my hand. He held my arms and dragged me out of the room. Tristan pushed me, and just as I was about to fall, His Grandma held me, and I fell into her arms. I stood up to thank her when I realized almost everyone in his family was standing in front of his door. Tristan's loud voice must have brought them here. “What's going o
Aurora's POV “You shouldn't mind what you just saw, they are just best friends,” Travis assured me with a smile on his face. I followed behind him till we got to the west wing, “The place you were is the North wing of this house, nobody is allowed there without Tristan's permission,” Travis opened the door, “This is your room.” The room looked extremely beautiful and elegant; it looked like a princess would live there. I wanted to express myself but Elena and Scott weren't here to help me out. Travis looked at me with concern, he held my hand and carefully walked me to the table in the room. He drew out the chair and made me sit on it. I looked carefully at him wondering what he was doing, when he brought out a paper and an ink, “Write whatever you want to tell me.” Thank goodness, someone with some sense, I picked up the ink and wrote, “Why is no one allowed in the North wing of this house?” “Tristan is the only person who stays there, and he likes his privacy; I will advise y
Aurora's POV I was scared; I didn't understand what was going on. I cooked it the way everyone would cook it and with the normal ingredients. Travis tasted from the plate of food Tristan had eaten from without any hesitation, “It has garlic.” I was surprised that despite Tristan was lying on the floor looking lifeless, Travis tasted the food, if I had poisoned the food, Travis would have also eaten the food without any hesitation Tristan's mother stood up with teary eyes. She pushed me, and I lost my balance, “Have you gone mad?!! Did you want to kill my son so bad that you served him garlic?” “Call the physician now!! Get him from his quarters immediately!!!” Grandma yelled to no one in particular but different staff ran to call the physician. Travis stood in between me and Tristan's mom and said, “You shouldn't take your anger out on your son's wife; if you want to blame anyone, it should be Ava and the kitchen staff; she doesn't even know that Tristan doesn't eat garlic
Aurora’s POV Mother’s nature of emotional blackmail was still the same; she has always done it, and right now,w, she is still doing it.I was irritated, I wanted to show her that I was better than her at emotional manipulation, “Even better,” I emptied the gallon on my body, “Let us all go to hell.”“Tristan!!!” Mother yelled when she saw I was playing the same game with her.“How can I stop a grieving mother? I should have punished Ava but I felt it would be better if Aurora punished her because she was closer to our child than I was, so how can I stop her?” Tristan supported me, “If I was killed would you sit and watch? Wouldn’t you kill the person too?”“The situation is different, you are a full human, and her child was only a fetus,” Mother whined, “That child wasn’t even formed yet; it was just blood!!”I couldn’t believe what mother had just said, “A fetus? Just blood?” I lit another match out of anger.“Are you going to watch her light us?” Ava yelled and I walked closer to h
Aurora’s POV “They killed your child!!” Diana said when she pulled me inside the nursery and shut the door behind her, “Are you going to keep pretending that nothing happened?”“Stop,” I shook my head as I pleaded.“I can’t stop, if I stop today then I have failed Skylar,” I placed my hands over my ears, “Do you think Skylar would be happy to see you in such a situation?”“Please stop, you are hurting me,” I pleaded with tears streaming down my face.Diana held my hand, she dragged me to the front of the cradle my baby was supposed to be in, “Look at that,” she forced me to look at the cradle but I refused, “Do you see a child there? No, there isn’t, do you know why? Because your child is dead!!! You child isn’t in the world of the living!!!”“No!!!” I covered my ears and screamed, “Please, don’t.”Diana pushed the cradle, she began to scatter the room and I ran after her trying to stop her from doing, “Not my baby’s room please, please.”Diana gripped my hand, “I won’t ask you to be
Tristan’s POV It’s been days and I haven’t done anything. It’s not like I don’t want to do anything, it’s just that I don’t know what to do. Everything was on my neck; it was almost like before when I had Skylar in one hand and Mother in the other. I haven’t gotten the courage to see Aurora, she has been in her room, she wasn’t talking to anyone, she didn’t even want to see anything. I lifted my head from the table when I felt someone tap me on my back, “I have been calling you for ages.” “I’m sorry Diana, I didn’t hear you,” I apologized. I thought by now I would have exposed Diana and kicked her out of this palace but she was here helping me instead. “I know,” Diana sat opposite me, “I wanted to talk to you about Aurora.” “What about her?” I hurriedly asked, “Is she okay? What’s wrong with her?” Diana placed her hand on my hand and I calmed down, “It’s nothing much,” I let out a breath of relief, “I don’t like the fact that everyone is agreeing with her that her child is
Tristan’s POVThe cup fell from my hand and scattered on the floor. Diana hurriedly carried the child from my hand.“You said something I didn’t hear right,” I didn’t even know when I stood up and walked to where Beatrice was kneeling, “Repeat what you said!!!”“I said it was Lady Ava who had asked me to mix pennyroyal and tansy in Queen’s Aurora tea the moment we found out she was pregnant,” Beatrice cried, “I didn’t want to harm another mother because I know the joy of being a mother but just like you have threatened me with my child that was the same way I was threatened with my child, a mother would go to any length to protect her child even if she has to harm someone else.”I scoffed, “Why didn’t you say something when you were given the order?!!! Why didn’t you come to me?!!!”“Everyone knows that Lady Ava is your best friend from childhood; if I had accused her without any evidence, I wouldn’t have seen this day, or would you have believed me?” I laughed out loudly like a madm
Tristan's POV Beatrice stared at me without saying anything and it only made my blood boil, “Don't you feel like talking?” I balled my hand into a tight fist. “If you have already heard it then I believe you don't need any explanation,” Beatrice replied arrogantly. “How dare you speak that way?!!!” Diana yelled, “Do you know who you are speaking to?!” Diana stood to her feet angrily. “I know who I'm speaking to, and that's why I'm speaking with nothing but respect,” Beatrice answered slyly. “Explain the pennyroyal and tansy herb,” I gritted, “Else I will make sure you suffer, you will beg for water, you won't see, you will beg for death and it won't come.” “Even if you fed me to the dogs I still have nothing to explain,” Beatrice said adamantly. “Okay,” I stood up, “Anybody that can give me any information on Beatrice, no her weakness, if anybody can give me her weakness, not only would I free that person from here, I will make sure to give you three acres of land.” “Anyone?”
Tristan's POV “Why are white flags raised on the road to the palace?” I questioned myself and Travis.“Maybe something tragic has happ….” Travis paused when we heard the sound of a bell, “Something tragic has happened.”My mind went blank, “Aurora” was the only name that crossed my blank mind. I didn't want to think of what couldn't or couldn't have happened, so I kicked on the horse to hasten its speed, and everyone rode their horse behind me at the same speed.I didn't wait for the horse to stop; I jumped down and ran into the palace, “Tristan,” Aurora called; she ran and jumped into my arms.I tightened my hold on her, “I'm glad you are Okay, thank you for being okay.”I was surprised to see the way everyone ran outside to meet me with a huge smile on their faces. Their eyes looked swollen, and the most disturbing thing was they were wearing mourning clothes.“What's going on?” I questioned as I pulled away from Aurora. I looked at her; I noticed she wasn't wearing a mourning dre
Aurora's POV We were all in different worlds, they were bowing to their new king while I was in pain, not just physical pain but emotional pain from the supposed death of my husband.Tristan cannot be dead; it's not possible; he just left only a moment ago; I looked around, and I couldn't tell if I became more scared or more relieved when I didn't see Travis around.“My….. My…. Child….” I cried out as I saw blood on the floor, “My…. My…. My… baby…” I didn't want to lose my child, so I bent to the floor and started using my hands to pack the blood together.“Call the physician,” I heard Grandma's voice break behind me, “Take her to the south Wing.”I held my tummy protecting my child as both Diana and Elena carried me to my room in the south Wing. “Aurora, I promise nothing will happen to you,” Diana touched my hair with a small smile on her face. Anyone could see the smile was fake.I shook my head, “Not…not… me… save…. My… child…. please.” Diana's silence told me everything I need
Aurora's POV“Aurora, what's going on? Are you okay?” Diana panicked as she grabbed me to lean on her forgetting we were both hurting and burning.“I…..I…..I”“Blood,” just that one word that left Diana's lips made me look to the floor, “Someone gets the physician now!!” Diana yelled, bringing everyone's attention to us. “What happened to her,” Tristan asked, “What did you do to her!!” He pushed Diana and held onto me, “Why is there blood?” I was weak, but I saw fear on Tristan's face, “Tell the physician to come to the North wing immediately,” Tristan carried me in his arms and ran to the north wing.“I…. I…. Am….. Scared…” I held on to Tristan's shirt tightly as he carefully dropped me on the bed. “You will be fine, I promise, you will be fine,” Tristan held my hand, “Aurora, I know this isn't the time, but I promise I don't know how I got to the garden; I don't know what happened in that garden, please.”“What is the Queen's condition?” The physician entered the room without knoc
Aurora’s POV Everyone was making me lose my damn mind, all of a sudden, Tristan was ignoring me, and Diana was giving me options.“You looked stressed, are you okay?” Grandma asked when I came out of Diana’s room.“Hmmmm,” I paused my lips into a thin line, “What are you doing here?” I changed the topic.“I was just walking around,” I nodded my head because I wasn’t in the mood to chat, “And I saw you and Diana enter her room.”“Oh, we were just talking,” I tried to keep the smile from fading, “Let’s go back to the ballroom.”“Was it Skylar,” I paused when I heard Grandma call that name.I turned to Grandma, “My husband’s dead girlfriend? What about her?” I was genuinely tired, was I going to be given another option!!!“Nothing, I can’t really remember much, but I just remembered that you two look alike; there is a resemblance,” Grandma said, and I nodded my head in relief.I scoffed mentally. Should I be grateful that Diana wiped her memory? “Yes, people do look alike, so there isn'
