Kyra and Gerald remained in their hidden spot in the alley until the rogues rode past and the sounds of the hooves of their horses hitting the ground could no longer be heard.

While in hiding, Kyra made Gerald tell her everything about the rogues and all the havoc they’ve wrecked since they found a way into Anton’s pack. There were a few times she wanted to stop him from talking because of how bad the things the rogues had done were, but she was the one who asked and encouraged him to speak, she needed to stilled her heart and listen.

“Where did you think they went to attack today? They did not waste too much time.”

“Well, we cannot know until the dust has settled. Every so often they just drive around to scare people, but they still end up causing one problem or the other. Like how they would have trampled you to death if I hadn’t saved you.”
