"M-m..oosa," she released her lips from his grasp before pulling away. She was afraid, things between them would escalate if the kiss continued. She sat back and drifted away from him, creating a distance between them. When her eyes fell on him, her heart almost stopped. She saw his eyes darkening. The twitch in his expressions had her breath hitched as he looked terrifying. Her eyes witnessed his jaw clenching, slightly and his eyes plainly gawking at her. Emotionlessly.Yet she almost stopped breathing when she witnessed anger flashing within his brown eyes for a second. She whimpered, expressing her fear and looked away for a second. She found him closing his eyes as he took a deep breath before opening them."Come closer," he whispered and she quietly nodded. She didn't want to anger him.Moving closer on her knees when she reached near him, he forwarded both his hands, looking up at her.Her lashes fluttered with confusion before he indicated her to take his hands and she silentl
He held her close to him, in his arms as they both sat on the sofa. She had been crying softly and still her small sobs weren't ceasing. Her whole form was shaking with her little hiccups as she was wearing one of his shirts that reached her mid thighs. When he had demanded to know the reasons, she had started to cry and wasn't even stopping yet now her sobs alleviated to tiny hiccups as he waited patiently."What happened, Roshanay?" he asked, tracing her brows with his thumb. Her drenched lashes opened and revealed her amber eyes to him."I'm v-very scared," she muttered at last, "Very scared,""Of what?" His voice was soft. She looked down and scooted away from him so there was space between them. Looking up and down at him with fear in her eyes, she found it hard to utter the words. The words of truth.'That I was a prostitute'These words were at the tip of her tongue but she didn't have enough courage to utter these. Her body, badly beaten and a hole in her head due to the bulle
Days kept on passing and the contact between them kept on minimizing. He didn't come close to her after that night. When he would come to sleep, he would just turn his side and sleep rather than engulfing her in his sturdy arms as he used to.He was aloof. As if he had gone far, far away from her. That made a mist encompass around her.Though he was close to her but his eyes....His eyes were just emotionless. They didn't sparkle the way they did whenever he would come to work and look at her.He would just come, change his clothes, go to his study or either go out and when he would be back, he'd lay in the bed either reading a book or sleep. She would keep on looking at him, keep on waiting for the moment when his eyes would raise and rest on her for more than a second as they used to lay before but he would just give her a glance, occasionally. As if she didn't exist. As if nothing between them existed. He ignored her like she meant nothing to him.As they weren't husband and wife.
Why?The question was, why...Why her heart was beating like a drum. Why she felt her heart breaking into pieces...Why was she feeling the tears accumulating within her eyes. Why his statement was hurting her.Hurting her so much that she was able to feel the pain in her heart. Was he betraying her?She wasn't in love but still it pained her.She was forced in the marriage but still it pained her.She hadn't accepted this marriage but still it pained her.Maybe she had began to....She brushed off the thought. He was cheating on her with Farah.A lone tear escaped her eye as she sat alone in her room. She cleared the tear as soon as it fell.Prostitutes like her had no share on love.Non-virgin unmarried women like her did not deserve to get married.Tainted women like her were only supposed to quench the thirst of the sexual arousals of men.She had been taught this whole life. Her whole life these words were being fed to her.The partial reason she had not and would not accept this
Her mind was trying hard to put two and two together. Her eyes were widened with surprise yet her brain was occupied in connecting the dots and trying to make herself believe that it was him who was standing infront of her.She was stilled at her spot. Her feet has refused to move. All her strengths were occupied in coming out of the shock. The face she had always abhorred. The person whom she had always loathed. He was standing infront of her. Tall, fit and fine. Did not they take him away as well? Then how is he here?"Uncle," she whispered, still in her trance. Her eyes slightly shifted to another man in the room. His green eyes were already fixed at her face. How is he connected with Ayyan?Another question popped up in his mind.Sufyan moved closer towards her and flicked his finger. Ayaan moved and locked the door. She was suddenly on a high alert. Her heart was palpitating in her ears. But still the confusion that had her mind arrested didn't let her think much. "Roshanay,
She was back in the vibrant crowd. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Her eyes was able to spot many fake smiles and laughters. Her eyes was also able to detect envious gazes. She saw people meeting each other with happy faces only to turn around and backbite about each other. The sweet aura they exuded earlier getting replaced with venom in matter of seconds. This was what it was.The elite class of Pakistan.Fake.Ostentatious.Pretentious.Gaudy. And sham. Her honey-amber eyes noticed the bride. Zahra.Donning a black bridal dress. She looked ecstatic. So pure. So innocent. The perfect word was, 'shy'Not even for once did she look up and matched her stare with the groom. Roshanay could feel as if she was trying to maintain a difference from the groom. The bride was awfully quiet. As if she didn't like being subjected to this concentration of attention. To Roshanay, she looked fearful because she witnessed what happened a few moments ago at the road where she got caught elo
Every now and then, her eyes would get wide upon seeing the price tags making her quickly place the article away. One look at those dresses, bags, shoes and accessories, she knew she didn't belong to this place. A pair of shoes alone cost more than fifty thousand. With timid steps, she approached Moosa and looked at his chest, "can we... go somewhere else?""Why?" he asked, his eyes pinning her and she felt goosebumps arising near her neck. Whenever his light brown eyes pinned her with his austere gaze, she always found her heart doing somersault. She was still trying to process what were these feelings. They were not so potent. But they did make her shy. As if her heart was in a web of attraction. It was getting attracted towards him.Magnetized by his eyes sometimes. But she was too fearful to admit these emotions even to herself. "Umm.... it is... very expensive.... for me.... for someone like me....."She looked down again. She didn't want to look like a gold digger. Women
Her eyes were going through the lines of the book she was reading but every now and then she has to focus on words to grasp the meaning. Continuously, her mind was being shifted to somewhere else instead of thr story which those lines entailed. The book, titled, 'Zaryaab' was about an underworld mafia guy who was not just a businessman but also a prominent politician of the country. A dark and quiet aura had succumbed him always on the streets he walk and within his heart, he carried a deep and intense fire that had been burning him for years. The book was nice, engaging and full of mysteries but still couldn't get Roshanay's focus as her mind was on something else which was more intense and heartwracking at the moment. Something which required her attention more than this book. She was only reading it to drift her thoughts away but again her mind dragged her to the same point which she had been trying to avoid. The chip. She still has not planted it in his study. And she was tryi
