Chapter 1

Lindsey Miles alighted into the mouth of a cave---a silhouette figure against the outside daylight to the dark interiors of the cavern. She exhaled a smoky breath into the cool summer air of the Alaskan Denali mountains; panting as she did so. It has been a long and difficult trudge.A girl of 18, she was a petite and slender young lady in khaki shorts, warm tights, and an overcoat. Her long, wavy auburn hair formed a messy bun on her head. If not for the current situation she is in, Lindsey Miles would usually sport smiling brown eyes and a cheery demeanour. But today her eyes were full of serious contemplation and anxiousness as she surveyed the cavern infront of her.She couldn't believe what she was doing; hiking in the mountains on her own. She has managed so far, much to her self-amazement.She held a flash-light in her hand and waved it against the darkness, barely illuminating anything. She then felt for the crystal pendant on her necklace that re

Chapter 2

25000 years ago...   The little girl's eyes fluttered open from her deep slumber. Something had stirred her awake --- a strange warmth resonating inside of her, summoning her. The child of 2 years left her bed and in small tapping steps walked bare-footed in her long white robe across glistening marble-like floors to the large open terrace of her chamber where she could see the dark horizon waiting to burst into a dawn of light that would soon disperse the darkness around her. She stood in the middle of the terrace, overlooking as usual the dazzling splendor of the great city that welcomed her with a touch of the breeze fresh from the seas, her pure white hair swaying daintily with it. Reflected in her cyan blue eyes is a myriad of towering white marble fortresses that make up the city, blazing with inlays of gold, silver and other precious stones. Powerful winglies, which are large flying featherless pointy-snouted

Chapter 3

The trip through the winding corridors of the huge fortress was enough time for the battle to intensify. Queen Tisha and her trail of maidservants could hear the wailings and cries of the winglies outside. They all halted on their feet."Something's not right, your highness," Anya, one of the priestess of the Kingdom and chief maidservant, uttered grimly. "Something terrible is happening."Queen Tisha stood sensitively still, breathing heavily, knowing that what Anya just said is true.Suddenly the fortress shook violently throwing everyone off their feet and onto the floor. Eleejah bursts out crying. It was evident that an enormous power has hit the fortress, it trembled against that power."Your highness, are we losing this battle?" one of the maidservants cried out."It looks as though we weren't ready for these invaders," another one spoke in fright. "They hold power that is greater than ours!""That is

Chapter 4

Year 2010 Baguio City, Philippines It was a night perfect for stargazing; the ebony sky was clear and filled with stars. The man who's found solitude on the rooftop of his mansion that silent night is in his early sixty's. He wore an unkemptly grown beard and a shabby laboratory gown with a stencil on its right breast with his name on it: Prof Waldo Kinski. In his hand he held the eyepiece of a telescope. Here at the Kinski Estate is a vast hectare of land left barren and untilled. At the heart of it stood an ancestral manor; its one-time grandeur defaced by abandonment for a long time. However, up until a year ago, the lone survivor of the unfortunate Kinski clan came back to haunt the house as its living ghost. He had a dreamed last night of his departed family. His wife, son and daughter were all smiling at him as he vainly tried to reach out to them. They had left him, one by

Chapter 5

Suddenly his thought warned him that maybe he should make his way out but upon spotting some embossed writings on the wall, his concern quickly dissipated replaced by curiosity. Excitement surged through him again for he was suddenly imagining it all: the uncovering of the phenomenon and the unknown and the endless possibilities that comes along with it. It's uncanny! It's overwhelming! From that moment on, he knew he found ardor and purpose in life and his passion renewed. The writings appear to be a bulletin. The characters were embossed, block by block---very primitive in fashion for a spaceship. Well thinking about it, the ship didn't look like any of those futuristic sketches one would imagine of a U.F.O. The writings looked hieroglyphic-like - but he knew that one from college. This was not one and nothing he could remember of. He is certain it is not of Earth. Stealing one

Chapter 6

The Present TimesWorld Defense Federation (WDF)GreenlandSomewhere in the snowy outskirts of Greenland lies the city-like structure of the World Defense Federation (WDF) headquarters in great perimeter; a complex maze of architecture infused with high-technology. The gargantuan complex extends miles below the ground, housing hangars after hangars, and a few kilometres above ground.A typical day for the WDF HQ would be snowstorms, battle alerts, trainings, and a few recreations for its thousands of in-house army men and women. It had been that way since the beginning of the alien invasion 10 years ago; a war that has been nothing but aimless and never-ending. Today however an unprecedented occurrence threw the routine out of its loop.Yes, for the first time, it isn't a typical day for the WDF.Today, Professor Waldo Kinski, the world's prime genius and the WDF's brain of armament technology, is hailed missing. They would have dismi

Chapter 7

"Approaching the barrier. Going in!" Alec Archer heard Private Sanders' voice transmission through the speakers. He witnessed thru the cockpit window as a wave of electric current coursed thru the entire exterior fuselage of Sander's flying mecha as it penetrated thru the invisible Earth Barrier---a powerful force field that barricaded the whole of the planet Earth from the alien intruders hovering all around Earth. Light energy flared all over the metal body as it did so.Sanders has now entered the safe perimeters of Earth."Following suit," said Alec as he toggled the switch that activated his own energy shield and also allowing him to penetrate the barrier. He felt the intensity of the vibration that rocked his battleship as he pierced thru the force field. If not for this built-in energy shield that equips all WDF battleships, it would be like catastrophically crashing thru an unbreakable wall. Up to this day, after seven months in the service as a space fighter p

Chapter 8

The sight of a snowy mountain whose top cap appeared to have been blown off from inside forming some sort of an open crater is what finally halted his aimless pursuit of almost an hour. Amazement held him there. From the look of the dust swirling everywhere, something was up recently; like a geological transformation of sort, he thought.'What had happened here?' he wondered.Slowly, he maneuvered his ship atop the hole and initiated metamorphosis of his spacefighter plane to a two legged manlike structure giant robot-- his mecha suit - one of the abilities of a WDF spacefighter plane. There were lots of mechanical shifting and displacement before this was achieved. This new physical form will comfortably allow him to explore the hollow inside the mountain that the hole unveiled. As his metallic suit stepped onto the ground, he initiated scanning of the area for any biohazards, but there was nothing abnormal and peculiar as his scanners would attests.

Chapter 9

10 days after Alaska... Lindsey Miles strode across the isle of a courtroom-like auditorium full of black-suited people that make up the elite society of the British Historical Institute - a smorgasbord of well-established archaeologists, anthropologists and historians. She was ushered onto a platform with a microphone stand and found herself facing a sea of hard, sardonic faces she couldn't help but feel as if she is on trial or something. It might very well be, she thought. Her audience, consisting mostly of seniors with gloomy and pale facial expressions, all hushed down from their tête-à-tête. The scent of potpourri mixed with tobacco smoke caught in her nose. Everyone was seated around a table of eight people, against the backdrop of exquisitely designed mahogany wood walls and red carpeted floor. This is the famous lectern hall of the British Archeological Society that has be

Chapter 10

The headquarters of the World Defense Federation, Sybil, is known as a rigid military underground base. But Sybil is more than just a military base. It is a complex infrastructure, a whole new metropolis, a world secluded from the world. It is home to thousands of soldiers who have pledge their life to the secrecy and isolation of the military life---the WDF way.And today, the Falcon unit of the WDF is nestled in Sybil after two months duty in space, finally back on Earth ground. Shifts over. The Doraco unit has sub for them up in space. The Sybil gym is abuzz with men and women on their off time in their tight-fitting gym clothes. Alec Archer entered this gym in his military uniform. He just got back from the Commander's office with bad news for himself, thanks to his utter mischief the other day."Hey, where've you been? And why are you in your uniform as if you are ready for another mission?" Sanders called from the jogging machine."I am off t
