"Where the hell is he?" I muttered under my breath as I stepped out of his club.

I’d checked all three of his spots, but he was nowhere to be found.

Nobody seemed to know his whereabouts or remembered the last time they saw him.

Well, except for a drunk who mumbled something about Charlie going out with a hooker. But I couldn't put any stock in the ramblings of someone in that state.

I slid back into my car and drove back to the house, my phone rang as I pulled out of the sidewalk. I answered immediately, hoping it was Charlie.

"You can’t just bail on me after agreeing to meet," I snapped, irritation creeping into my voice.

"I believe you’re not referring to me, Alex," a familiar voice replied from the other end.

Shit.

It wasn’t Charlie; it was my grandfather. I had been dodging his calls for weeks.

"Hi, Pa," I said, bracing myself for his rant.

He scoffed, "Where are you?" He asked coldly.
