Amelia

"The brakes were damaged!" I blurted out, my eyes wide with shock.

"Yes, Amelia. Isn't it strange how you instructed Dean to have it checked out without even driving it?" He asked, his eyes narrowing slightly.

I knew Selene was up to no good when I saw her fiddling with the car.

But the brakes?

Was she trying to get him killed or something?

The thought sent a chill down my spine. I glanced at Alexander, uncertain whether to share this with him or keep it to myself.

Poor guy just rekindled with his mother.

I'll deal with Selene myself.

"Well, I did notice something was wrong with the car when I tried driving it. I just didn't know what it was, so I asked Dean to get the mechanic to take a look." I lied.

"Hmmm." He grunted. "Alright, I'll be downstairs."

"I'll join you in a bit," I replied, watching as he turned and left the room.
