Amelia

"What are you doing here?" Selene's voice trembled with unease.

"I...." I hesitated, unsure of why I needed to explain myself to her. Instead, I turned the question back on her, "What are you doing here?"

"Nothing. I found the security guard fast asleep when I came. I tried to wake him, but he didn't budge - he's clearly in a very deep sleep." She turned back to the system, her fingers clicking away on the keyboard.

"I just wanted to check the footage to see if I was still wearing my diamond necklace when I came back to the mansion," she said, her eyes fixed on the screen.

I walked closer to see what she was doing.

"There it is," She said as I got close. "Good night." She flashed me a warm smile. She began to walk away but then paused in her tracks, turning back to me.

"You know, Amelia, I think we would really get along. We should be friends. We could go on a girls' trip together, do some shopping, talk about boys." She chuckled.
