Conrad and Angie dunked as many canteens as they could handle, into the water all at once. Before they could acquire much water, some of the creatures closer to Angie and Conrad returned to secure their spot by the lake. The weaker ones that had been waiting for the chance to sneak in like Angie and Conrad did, coveted the spot too.

Conrad pointed at the water, then left to take on the creatures.

[Should I help you?]

/No, Elias and Valerie likely have their eyes on us. I should be fine./

Things happened just as BaoBao had predicted.Angie shifted her position to monitor the situation, prompting Elias to hold onto Angie's hand again. She had no idea how long the battle with the Infected would last. The weapons effective against the Infected were back at the vehicles. Angie would have to make up her mind soon.Just then, the Infected pounded near the base of the tree, hard enough to cause a tremor. The leaves rustled. Angie and Elias grabbed onto the tree for their dear lives, out of reflex. Two punches later, part of the ground caved in, and the creature that resembled a mole po

When Angie opened her eyes again, it was all dark before her. [Angie! You’re finally awake!] /Where am I? How long was I out?/ Angie wondered as she moved her stiff and weak limbs. [You didn’t move an inch from where you collapsed. Elias and Miryam didn’t dare to move you, which was good! If they could diagnose the damage done to your body, your recovery would be regarded as a miracle! You had broken bones, multiple fractures, internal bleeding, and damaged muscles. Now, you even have a blood disorder…] BaoBao rambled on huffily. [And you’ve been out for a month.] /That’s shorter than I thought. With all the injuries you told me about./ [You've got to thank Elias for that. He insisted on using valuable resources on you. And of course Miryam backed him up.] Angie spotted Elias, who was asleep in the corner of the shabby but workable makeshift room. She made her way to Elias as quietly as she could. Blueprints and plans that they had looted from the base were strewn aro

The next morning, Conrad insisted on reassigning the teams. “Angie will be fine with just us two. We can’t have all the strong fighters leave.” Conrad blandly stated the obvious. When Angie’s boys’ sulked and looked unsettled, Conrad raised an eyebrow and commented, “I understand why Miryam and Elias would be concerned. But why are the three of you making such a fuss? Angie is still Angie even if she’s a girl.” Angie froze. /They know?/ [Oh, ya. Of course, they would. They had to treat you immediately and Elias was in no mind to hide your sex from them. Now that I think about it, their faces were priceless. The shock from your physical prowess, then the extent of your wounds, then the reveal of your sex... You were like a jack in the box inside a jack in the box. Actually, besides Miryam and Elias, Conrad also didn’t show any reaction to your sex.] /Conrad?/ [Yeah, he was not that fazed by it. Each and every one of those involved in the incident had a scar to remember this day. The one with the most striking and ugly scar, unsurprisingly, belonged to Angie. She had the hardest time recovering from her injuries too, due to an infection. When she was finally well enough to join everyone else for meals, Conrad properly apologised to her and offered to relinquish his leadership to her. “I’m fine staying as the advisor.” Angie politely rejected. Angie gasped, “Elias?!” She was still sensitive from having just climaxed. “Yes?” Elias drawled, as he moved very slowly, in and out of her. “Mmph…!” Angie could feel the entire length of his rod. He was teasing her, successfully. She started craving for more. “Elias…”

It did not take long for Elias to suspect that Angie was pregnant. Angie experienced almost every symptom of pregnancy that one could possibly have. Elias freaked out just like Angie expected, but he managed it a lot better than she thought he would. His face was like an open book, while his actions spoke of his priority. Only after she was well taken care of, did Elias let her provide the same comfort back. “I’m scared...” Elias admitted with his voice a mere shaky whisper, as he rested his forehead against hers. “How’re you going to get past 9 months like this?” Angie smiled and patted his head. “I’m still here, aren’t I?”

The blood test for, what was called, the Unlimited virus, turned out to be positive. Like Angie had predicted, Elias swiftly tested Angie as well. When it turned out positive, he made everyone else test themselves too. Valerie being infected as well came as a surprise to everyone. Suspecting that the virus had mutated after so many years, and that people would be infectious far earlier than initially thought, everyone played safe. Those that had to be quarantined, were quarantined. They wore masks even though they were indoors. They maintained a safe distance from each other despite sterilising everything all over again. After three days, when

The sight that greeted Luna when she opened her eyes told her all that she needed to know. “I didn’t make it.” BaoBao shook his head sadly with tears rolling down his chubby cheeks. “It was mere seconds… He was so close… Elias was miserable…” Luna took a deep breath as tears gathered in her eyes. She could picture how devastated Elias must have been. She could only hope that her early goodbye would help ease his guilt somewhat.

RenRan began napping. A lot. Souls did not need sleep, but they could choose to do so. FanHai was one of those who seemed to never catch a wink of sleep. While RenRan slept, he stayed by her side, always keeping himself busy with something. This carried on for a good time before she began to catch him with his guard lowered after waking up. ‘A while more.’ RenRan did not believe that a man like him could keep himself entertained this long and resist a cat nap with her. At this point, BaoBao cried out in frustration. There were a few times she could have slipped away because he had already fallen asleep with her! He even dared to cuddle with her. That spot was only reserved for two people! Him and the familiar soul! “Is it really too much to assist by waking her up?” He challenged the elder one. “Is it so hard for her to stay awake in a world that doesn’t need sleep?” He challenged BaoBao back. “...That’s easy for you to say.” Then, BaoBao puffed his cheeks and returned to gl

RenRan’s eyes opened wide. No matter how hard she pushed against him or how much she pounded his chest, shoulders, or head, he persisted on. She tried to bite him, but he avoided using his tongue and skillfully moved his mouth in tandem with her attempts. With his hand cupping the back of her head, she could not break the kiss either. She was at his complete mercy. ‘I should have dropped the act earlier. This isn’t worth it!’ Fear slowly gripped her heart as she wondered how far he would take it. Then, he stopped, just as suddenly as he started. “Enough?” He grinned and meaningfully applied greater pressure on her lower back. His move made RenRan conscious of the rock hard member against her abdomen. Immediately recognising what it was, she fiercely pushed against his chest and demanded, “Okay, let me go! I’ll properly spend some time with you first!” He smiled with satisfaction. “Like I thought.” Then, he let her go. “You wouldn’t have to waste so much time and energy if you jus

Instead, she attempted to twist her arm free again. “Even so, I’ve never heard of a compass malfunctioning because of this before.” Annoyed with his accusations, RenRan tuned in

No, I’ll definitely find him. It’s just a matter of time. Then, I’ll find out that YingTao doesn’t want me anymore. Luna was right. She had inhabited Luo RenRan’s body. RenRan’s family belonged to the working class, but her gripe was not their standard of living, it was her parents’ favourtism for her brothers. She was the only girl, and she was the oldest. Anything her brothers did, she was responsible for. Any wrong they committed, they were let off with a more lenient punishment, while she was supposed to forgive and forget. Their expectations for her and the restrictions they imposed on her could not be compared to the standards they held her brothers against. The only solace she had was that her siblings never directly crossed her line, even when she was old enough to start working. If only it stayed that way forever. “RenRan... Forgive your brother, okay? You know he only took it because he needed it and only you can help him. If you have someone you need to blame, blame your father.” A gentle motherly voice coaxed her. “If your father helped, none of us would be

"I dare you to say it again.” The same voice challenged her. Luna turned towards the source. There it was again. The sensation when she moved was familiar. However, she had no time to make sense of it. The deep voice belonged to a burly woman, instead of a man like Luna had assumed, not that it made anything better. Her guest looked as friendly as a starving lioness. Luna straightened her neat celestial-like robes while she quickly collected her thoughts.
