Zach headed towards his car at the parking lot, following behind Malcolm, who is talking on the phone with Ashley. He took out his car keys and pressed the button for his car to unlock when he suddenly heard a car screeched ahead of them.
“W-What the -?!” He exclaimed when the car stopped haphazardly and to his surprise Damon got out of the car and was rushing towards the motorcycle parking area. “What the f8ck is he up to?”
However, he also rushed after Damon, shouting at Malcolm especially when he saw a look of terror on the man’s face. Damon had also had his gun out as well as his rifle when he went out of the car, jamming the magazine hurriedly.
“Something’s up,” Zach said to Malcolm as both had their guns ready as well.
Three gunshots were fired and filled the empty parking lot and Zach cursed out loud as he and Malcolm rushed to the direction that Damon had went to. The minute they arrived at the scene
Alex opened her eyes and stayed quiet, adjusting to the hospital room surroundings. She heard the voice of her aunt and sister right by outside the room, probably at the doorway, and then to her surprise, the familiar voice of Zach. He was assuring her sister that he’s going to get to the bottom of what had transpired a while ago.“Malcolm called you as told by Damon,” Zach explained to Ashley gently. “I think in a way he knows that you will get hysterical if it will be the hospital calling. That’s the reason I see why he asked.”“Because Alex knows and I guess, so does Damon that Malcolm will fabricate the story a little bit so me and Aunt Vicky wouldn’t worry too much,” Ashley answered bitingly. She let out a frustrating sigh. “She never wants us to fret about her. She’d rather be the one worrying over us.”Alex closed her eyes and admitted that her sister is definitely right. She had alwa
Zach gripped the steering wheel calmly the following day and stole a glance at Alex, who is sitting on the passenger seat and quietly dozing off as he drove towards the diner to drop her home. After Jacinta parted from him to attend a board meeting, Zach then went towards the seventh floor, where Alex has been admitted. The minute he stepped foot inside her room, he stopped and balked at the sight he saw.Alex was sitting on her bed, facing the wall behind the bed while a wound care specialist and two OJT nurses are treating the scars on her back. She was hissing loudly in pain and when she managed to turn and saw him, her eyes narrowed.“Thanks,” she said to the specialist and nurses after the treatment.“No bras for now while your wound is still healing, Ms. Walters,” the specialist advised gently. “I remembered giving you that same advice a few years ago.”“I still have those stick-on bras and I think As
Alex made another run through the report she just typed inside her room, Monday the following week, reading carefully. Over the weekend, Alex kept herself in her room, doing two reports over the incident that she was involved in. One for the CIA, where all the details had been mentioned clearly and the one for the FBI, where some information were omitted, like the appearance of Saood. She only mentioned the description of the man involved as well as the two guards and the stadium guard that she was able to shoot before her gun was taken from her.She frowned when she realized upon reviewing that the two are a bit way off from each other. After carefully back reading the details, she finally decided to revise the entire report that she will be submitting to Montgomery. She slowly leaned back on her chair where she had propped a pillow to prevent any pain on her back and touched her lips gently. The mere thought of the man suddenly made her skin tingle and the hair behin
Alex pulled away and looked up at the man she had called her father. The man she had grown up with, adored and idolized. Ever since she learned how to hold a gun, she swore that she’s going to be like him when she grows up.Edward Bishop smiled down at her, patting her on the head.“You look well,” he commented in relief. She nodded as she finally followed him inside the apartment. She stared at the back of the man; she had been secretly going to for the past four years. The man she had watched on a live feed being killed while she was tortured in an underground basement in Middle East. The man who called her up, the minute she got out of the hospital upon returning home to tell him that he’s alive. The man who asked her to stage an accident for her mom, to make the enemy believe she is also dead. The only thing that they didn’t count on was for Ashley, deciding at the last minute to accompany her.The J.A.K.E.,
Zach pressed the enter button on his laptop hardly that afternoon and waited for the results to appear on his screen. Ever since he arrived at his office, the only time that he got out of the room is when he needed to use the toilet. He even had his lunch delivered. After his agents had submitted their report on the findings of what had happen to Alex, he had a suspicion that some of things had not add up especially when she also emailed her report.“Was there no footage?” He had asked tightly.“When we went to the room to retrieve the files, sir, it was already deleted and so are all the other cameras,” Gavin informed grimly. “But I’m going to the contractor of the software to check if they have a main server that has backups. Elise from IT mentioned that some providers do that.”“I need it immediately,” Zach barked.Zach looked at his screen after the search result has been displayed and he cu
Alex went out from the cab that stopped in front of her office building on a Tuesday morning after paying the driver her fare. It’s been two weeks since she got out of the hospital and much to her sister and aunt’s dismay, she finally decided to return to work.“I’m basically okay now,” Alex told them over the weekend when she told them her decision. “I just had my check up with my doctor and told me that my wounds are already closing. I just must prevent myself from getting into strenuous activities.”“Can’t you take another week?” Ashley begged.“I’m going to die if I will,” Alex said dramatically. She gave them an assured smile. “Look, I promised that I will take better care of myself, okay? I will tell Mr. Montgomery that I will not be joining any operations for a while until all my wounds had healed up. I’ll only do desk jobs even if it will bore me to death.”
Zach looked up from the file that he is reading that afternoon when Gavin knocked on his office door and entered with a perplexed look on his face.“Stefan Malkus is here and demands to see you, sir,” Gavin said calmly.“Where is he?”“I had him in one of the small meeting rooms,” Gavin answered as he stepped aside to let Zach went out of the office first and following behind him. “He asked specifically for you. I asked him how he knew your name, but he won’t tell me until you go and meet him.”Heading towards the meeting room that Gavin had put the man inside, he stopped just before going inside and look through the glass. He saw a man around his sixties, sporting a silver side-part haircut and van dyke mustache with wire-rimmed glasses. He still looks physically fit from where he is standing but the small tremor that Zach managed to catch tells something else.“Mr. Malkus, my name is Zac
Alex moved her fingers along the keypad on her phone as she continued typing a message for Damon. After Stefan Malkus finally decided to go home, along with some agents that Zach had ordered to escort him, she looked at her superior.“Why are you giving him an escort?” She asked.“Because he could be a target,” Zach answered as he gestured for her to go out ahead of the room. “We were monitoring him but there were no instructions from the higher ups on anything. It could be his family has been taken by that person he mentioned. He could be our suspect in the bombings around the city.”She looked at his back as he went towards his office.“Why the hell would a student of his come here and sought him out?” She asked. “As well as setting off some bombs? That’s kind of preposterous, isn’t it? He could just immediately get to his target rather than do some bomb shows.”“Well,
