Ezio:

I watched as the pack members assembled before the moon full rose in the sky.

My eyes caught sight of the Alpha who walked out of the house, his eyes meeting mine before I walked toward him.

“Alpha”

“Thank you for helping take care of my sister when I was out of the house” he said, and I nodded. Iris and I stayed in her room until the doctors asked us to leave for them to take her to her room.

“I have done nothing but my job, Alpha. You don’t need to thank me” I said, nodding at him.

“Will you be shifting?” Alpha Ryker asked and I shook my head. I didn’t want to shift without my mate being by my side.

“Not tonight, it is traditional that Lycans don’t usually shift on full moons” I said, making the Alpha nod.

“You seem to have many traditions” he said “how is it possible that you don’t have a pack?”

It was a question that I dreaded, but I always knew that it would come. It was a past that haunted both Iris and I, a past that I wanted nothing more than to live in peace wit

Iris:I wrapped my arms around my mate as I kissed him. He smiled into the kiss, lifting me in his arms as he pulled me toward the bed, gently laying me on it as he hovered my body.“Have I told you how much I am in love with you?” He asked, his voice above a whisper. His question told me that he heard my conversation with Miley earlier and the way he looked at me, his eyes filled with adoration, love, and appreciation made my heart swell. I smiled, raising myself to connect my lips with his, gently running my finger over his jaw, smiling when I saw him leaning into my touch “and I assume that my beloved may have heard me talking to a certain beta” “Yes, and you have no idea how I felt hearing you saying those words” he said, cupping my cheeks, pulling me in for a kiss “you gave me the world, you should really put that in mind, Iris”I smiled, spreading my legs for him to get between them despite knowing that he was not even turned on just yet, even I wasn’t. But the moment alone w

Ezio:I walked out of the bathroom to find the room empty.Iris had left the room after getting ready when I was in the shower, and I couldn’t help but feel guilty for how the conversation had ended.I understood her intentions, and I knew that she wanted nothing more than to be my support just like I have been to her. But the idea of having to relive the same pain all over again scared me more than I could imagine. Therefore, rather than coping with it, or speaking to her about it; I chose to hide under both my ignorance and anger. I ran my fingers through my hair before getting dressed. I had to go check on the pack members who would be waking up in a bit after their shift last night, and knowing that I wouldn’t be seeing my mate for the day didn’t make things any easier for me. But then again, I knew that it was me who asked for her to keep her distance.“Jade, is the dining room ready?” I asked as I walked past one of the slaves. “Yes, Beta, Miss Nina is making sure that it is b

Iris:To say that the Alpha’s question didn’t catch me off guard would be a lie.I looked at Ezio who shook his head, wanting me to stay quiet. “Alpha…”“Don’t tell me that she crossed any limits. I know for fact that she is either with Ezio, Ariana, or out in the field, in front of me. Therefore, what is the fucking issue that you have with Iris?” Alpha Ryker asked, his back tensing as his sister’s head dropped to the ground.“She has to learn not to seduce the men of the house, and me beating her up is to remind her of it. We can’t have…”“Miley, one more lie and I swear even the best of doctors won’t be able to fix your face for you” he threatened, stopping his sister. Miley’s eyes widened in surprise and she gulped, fighting to control herself “what is the issue that you have with her? I have heard around the whole house that you are tougher on her than most, and no matter what she does; she cannot seem to satisfy you. Therefore, I expect an answer from you, and I expect it fast”

  • Assassin Alpha   Chapter 56

Ezio:“Please listen to me, Iris” I said, taking her hand in mine, stopping her from getting in bed while being upset. Iris didn’t answer me, her eyes avoiding my own before she pulled her hand away. Her heart raced against her ribcage as she looked down at her feet. Her hands shook as she clenched and unclenched her fists. “Need I ask, what do you want to tell me? Would there be another ‘warning’?” Iris asked. I stayed quiet as her words played in my head. The way she looked at me told me that I had hurt her more than I intended to. She turned to walk to the bathroom but me wrapping my arms around her from the back, and hugging her tightly stopped her before she could. I kissed her cheek, holding her to my chest as my heart raced and it broke me that it took her a few seconds to give in to my touch. A sob broke from her lips before I could say anything, and turning her around, I wrapped my arms around her, hugging her tightly “I was scared you’d leave me”Her voice was above a whi

Iris:“You need to be calm before you start climbing, love” I said, looking at the girl who held onto the rope for dear life.“I’m going to fall”“Not if you focus” I said gently. I put my hand on her back, helping her down from the rope. She stood in front of me, looking down at her feet as she feared my reaction. I cupped her cheeks, making her look at me “what are you afraid of?”“You’re not angry with me?”“I am teaching you, love. I am not here to be angry with you” I said, running my finger over her cheekbone. She wrapped her arms around herself, running her hand up and down her arm. The other kids seemed to tense and I turned to look at all of them and frowned when I saw how worried most of them seemed.“Can I ask what all of you are afraid of? I don’t think that I have done anything to scare any of you and I’m sure that Beta Ezio hasn’t” I asked, crossing my arms over my chest. I nodded at the girl to go and sit.“We are usually not allowed to make mistakes…” one of the parent

  • Assassin Alpha   Chapter 58

Ezio:I ran my fingers through my beauty’s hair as she laid on my chest, telling me what happened between her and Nina.“She says that I want the Alpha position to myself…” I simply hummed in response, knowing that it wasn’t true. If anything, Iris wanted to end the WHOLE pack, starting a new fresh life between the two of us, it was never about being an Alpha for any of us.“And you let her get in your head, didn’t you?”“No, it’s not that”“I think it is, baby girl” I said, pushing my beauty away to look me in the eye “if anything, the two of us know that it is not about being Alpha in this place, and it is not about a ‘position’. The two of us haven’t fought through this whole time to just end up being merciful or to take charge of a pack that has damaged us more than we could even mention”“Her words just annoyed me, that’s all. I haven’t seen her being as rude in a while and I guess that I forgot how heartless she could be when she wants to be, but then again, I am no longer her t

  • Assassin Alpha   Chapter 59

Iris:I watched as Ariana did her homework, making sure that she didn’t give her teachers a fuss considering that she hasn’t seen her father.“Ariana, you need to finish these before I leave. You have to submit them tomorrow” the tutor said, looking at the child. Her previous private teachers all stopped tutoring her when she entered school, and the one tutoring her now was a nun who was trained to teach children, be patient with them, and treat them well.“But, I wanted to see daddy today” Ariana said, pouting her lips. I looked at her tutor who smiled, getting down on her knees beside Ariana.“Your father must be too busy to come, but we both know that he will once he is done. However, I am very sure that he wouldn’t like seeing that his daughter was not doing her homework” she said gently. I couldn’t help but respect the woman’s patience, this was the fifth time Ariana stopped doing her homework; however, not once did the woman raise her voice at her “how about, we finish this whil

Ezio:“Get out” Alpha Ryker said, not bothering to look at the nurses as he sat on the edge of his sister’s bed. The nurses looked at me, shaking their heads in question as they didn’t know what to do; however, nodding at them to leave had them walking out.“Alpha, is there anything that you need?” I asked, looking at the girl whose eyes were fixed on her brother, tears brimmed her eyes, and I couldn’t help but feel sorry for the two.“Leave us alone, Ezio” he said. I nodded, walking out and standing by the door. My eyes caught sight of Nina and I couldn’t help but shake my head at the woman who rolled her eyes before walking away. My plan with Iris was still fresh in my mind, though how we were going to make sure it worked would risk my and Iris’s life, both if she spoke, or if she didn’t. “I was never fair with you” I heard Ryker tell his sister inside the room, his voice has never been as broken as it was now, but I knew for fact that whatever he was going to tell her now was goin

Ezio:I smiled, wrapping my arm around my beauty as we looked at our pack members. Our pack’s features finally started showing as each day passed when a Lycan showed up, or one found his or her mate, increasing our number. It has been six months since everything happened, and to say that the two of us were finally happy being together would not be a lie. The drama, and our revenge was finally over. Now, we had ourselves to see and pay attention to, rather than focus on a man we wanted nothing more than to kill. “Good morning, baby girl” I smiled, kissing her cheek from behind. Iris smiled, leaning into my touch, putting a hand on my cheek.“Good morning to you too” she said, raising her head to look at me.I smiled despite her racing heartbeat and the fatigue that I could see in her eyes. She has been in this state for the past two days, and regardless of how many times I told her to go to the hospital, Iris refused to have a doctor touch her. “Baby girl, can you at least promise me

  • Assassin Alpha   Chapter 71

Iris:I watched as the guests who were going to attend the funeral arrived. Their eyes scanned the surroundings as they searched for the Alpha, his death not being announced yet. Cassandra wanted to be there to see the eyes of those who have allowed her discrimination when she begged for help years back. It seemed like the woman had lived through a lot more than she let out, but Ezio and I made sure not to pressure her into speaking about what she didn’t want to.“Ezio, Iris?” Marissa, the Raven Claw’s pack Luna asked her mate, Daniel, standing by her side as the pair looked at us “what is going on here? I’m sure that you didn’t come here to attend the funeral”I looked down at my feet, not wanting to be questioned about the subject anymore than necessary. Ezio extended his hand at Daniel who shook his hand in return “how are you two? We didn’t expect you to be here to begin with”“We have to say the same about you two, especially judging by…” Daniel didn’t need to complete his sente

Ezio:I watched as the pack members assembled upon seeing me, wanting to submit to me as an Alpha instead of Cassandra.“Why is she the Alpha?” A girl asked, looking down at her feet “the rules say that whoever kills the Alpha is in charge, why did you give up your position?”“I never came here to be an Alpha” I said, looking down at the child “Cassandra was Ryker’s mate, and believe it or not, I know that she would be better at this position than I ever would be”“Plus, we won’t be leaving completely, if anything, we would be your pack’s new allies” Iris said, smiling at the girl. She looked up at us before hugging Iris, burying her head on her chest as she took a deep breath.“You are the only two who have helped us overcome our fears in this pack” she said, looking up at Iris. I smiled, remembering the day where she told the pack members that she wouldn’t hurt any of them before Ryker came out, reminding them that she SHOULD be fearing him if they wished to live within the pack’s g

  • Assassin Alpha   Chapter 69

Iris:I watched as Cassandra spoke to Ariana, trying to explain to her that she was her mother. The child was quiet as she listened, and Katerina stood, looking at both Ezio and I for a second.“You two did a good job” she said, breaking my train of thoughts. I frowned in confusion, looking at the woman who motioned for us to walk toward the veranda, giving the mother and her daughter their privacy. “What are you talking about, Katerina?” Ezio asked, crossing his arms over his chest. His muscles flexed as he looked at her, and despite the wound on his shoulder, I knew that he would be attacking her if needed. “You united a mother with her daughter, and killed the one poison that was not only ruining the pack, but the child too” she said, looking at the two of us.“You knew about her?” I asked, voicing out my confusion. Katerina simply smiled as a response, turning around to look at the bloodied field. The pack members and the Lycans were cleaning everything up, clearing out the spac

  • Assassin Alpha   Chapter 68

Ezio:I watched as the pack members started their training, preparing for the day’s shift before Iris walked out of the house.Alpha Ryker stood in the middle of the field, watching the pack members as they trained, his eyes lost as he stared into space, clearly trying to process the death of his sister. “Alpha” Iris said, approaching him. She handed him a glass of water to which he nodded and took a sip of “do you mind if I sit?”He looked up at her before nodding, watching as she sat down, her eyes meeting mine for a second before she turned her attention to the Alpha “how was Ariana today? Did she accept that she’s being homeschooled?” “No, but she would eventually. She just needs time to either process that it is the better option for her, or she would end up trying to convince you to send her back to school with her friends” Iris said, looking down at her lap. “I’m guessing that she has every right to want to go back to school, her balance has been stirred, but then again, for

  • Assassin Alpha   Chapter 67

Iris:“Morning” Cassandra told Ezio and I when she saw us walking out of the bedroom she told us to stay in, entering the sitting room where we saw her yesterday. The whole floor was designed as an apartment for her, and I was surprised to see that Alpha Ryker, regardless of the anger he had toward her, made sure that she was as comfortable as she possibly could be.“Good morning” Ezio said, answering her. He kept his arm wrapped around me as we walked out of the room, mostly assuring me that things were going to be okay. The two of us could barely talk about anything last night, not wanting to risk her hearing us, or getting on her bad side. “I take it that you two are ready?” She asked, getting up from her chair just as we heard the room’s door open. Ezio and I hid by the door, waiting for the maid to come before I grabbed her from the back, snapping her neck before she could make a sound. The maid dropped the tray that she had with her, falling limp on the ground as she took her

  • Assassin Alpha   Chapter 66

Ezio:“So, you want to be the one to kill him?” I asked, crossing my arms over my chest. Iris sat beside me, looking at the woman with wide eyes as the two of us processed what she was talking about.“Yes, he has hurt me and my daughter, and I believe that it is my right to be able to kill him. You two have watched him suffer for months, but I want to be the one to look him in the eye while I’m killing him, breaking the last bit of strength that he believes he has on me” Cassandra said, looking at Iris who bit her bottom lip “you shouldn’t be too surprised, Iris. I don’t think that you would be too impressed by your mate sleeping with other women, or by him living his life after he has locked you up like some prisoner. I haven’t spoken to my daughter in years, and I am well aware that he keeps her locked in her room for days without going out, seeing or speaking to anyone. I owe it to her and myself to be able to end his life myself”“I never spoke or said anything”“Your expression s

Iris:“Are you sure that the place is here?” I asked, staring at the wall in front of us. Ezio nodded, seeming sure about it, making me frown in confusion as I looked at the empty wall.Ezio put his hand on the wall, running his finger over the tiles, gently pressing on them before one of them moved. The two of us looked at one another for a second before Ezio pressed on the tile completely, watching as a door opened behind it.My beloved wrapped his arm around me, pulling me inside the room where stairs appeared in front of us “the fifth floor” My voice was above a whisper as I spoke, and the two of us took slow, careful steps up the stairs as we feared any traps being hidden within the walls of this secret room. The door slowly closed behind us, and I couldn’t help but catch my breath as we walked up, not knowing what to expect behind the walls of the concealed room. Why it was concealed and how long has it been this way, I had no idea, but it seemed like there was a lot for us to

  • Assassin Alpha   Chapter 64

Ezio:“You do realize that we can’t keep killing this Alpha’s men, right? He would just notice that they have gone missing” Iris said, entering the fourth dungeon in the house. The two of us have been going around in a maze, searching for the woman who didn’t seem to be in any of the empty dungeons we entered. “It’s not like I have another option” I said, shrugging my shoulders “they would end up killing us otherwise”“Ha, ha, I am starting to believe that you are enjoying this way too much” Iris teased. I winked at my beauty, watching as she went to check the right side of the cell while I checked the left. I sighed when we found that it was also empty, and knowing that it was already a while past two, I knew that we needed to get some rest if Iris was to be able to wake up early with Ariana. “Next dungeon?”“No, baby girl, bedroom. You need to rest. Ariana doesn’t have school tomorrow and she would be very active, not to mention that the whole house would be busy with the funeral
