I feel so guilty at what i heard from him.I dont know what to do now. Am I selfish to deprive him from Franco?

“Connor, baby, Franco is not your friend. He’s a dangerous man. Please, don’t go near him again,” I pleaded with my son. He was about to leave our room when I called him back. I hugged him tightly and whispered.

“Remember that I love you and that I’m doing this for your own good.”

“No, mommy. Uncle Franco is a good man!,” he sobbed, his tiny body shaking in my arms.

I felt a lump in my throat as I tried to explain, “I know that you think Franco is a nice man, but he isn’t. He’s not who you think he is.” I felt him struggling against me, his small hands pulling at mine. I pulled him closer.

“Please, Connor,” I begged, “listen to me.” He shook his head back and forth, his dark curls bouncing in the dim light. “This is for your safety.”

Connor suddenly burst into tears. I felt my heart breaking as I held him closer to me. I let him cry, my own tears mixing in with his.

I could feel his eyes on me as I left.*****I drove home in a daze, my mind racing. I had just agreed to let Franco visit Connor. And now do I need to consider his offer to invest in my company?I didn't know what I was thinking. I had been so determined to keep him out of my life, but now I was letting him back in.As I drove home, the familiar route winding through the familiar streets. My phone buzzed, snapping me out of my thoughts, and I answered, “Hey Irene.”“Celine, you're on mute!” Irene's voice boomed through the speakerphone. I chuckled, adjusting the phone to my ear. “Sorry, I was lost in thought.”“Lost in thought about the big meeting tomorrow?”“Of course, Irene. “It happened,” I said, feeling a wave of guilt wash over me.“Connor was asking about Franco, and I... I just couldn't bear to keep him away anymore. He hates me, Irene. He thinks I'm keeping his friend away.”“You're keeping his father away,” Irene corrected me, her voice tight. “You can't just let him see Connor. It's too risky.”“I know,” I said, my voice cracking. “I know what happened between Franco and me. I know what he did. But Connor doesn't. He doesn't know that Franco is his father. He just sees him as a friend.”“But he could find out,” Irene insisted.“And then what? What will you do? Are you going to tell him about Franco's betrayal? About how he abandoned you for another woman when you were pregnant with his child?”“I don't know,” I admitted, feeling lost. “I really don't know.”“Celine,” Irene said, her voice softening.“Franco doesn't deserve to be a father to your son. He doesn't deserve to be in Connor's life. He betrayed you, and he hurt you deeply. You don't owe

FRANCO’S POVI turned to Celine, her gaze meeting mine. “Thank you, Celine,” I said. “For letting me see him.”Celine nodded, her voice stronger now. “I'm going to work,” she said. “Enjoy, buddy!” she called to Connor, giving him a wave.I watched as Celine left the room, closing the door behind her. My heart was pounding in my chest as I turned to face Connor, the little boy who had suddenly become such a big part of my life.“Hey, buddy,” I said, mustering up a smile. “How are you doing today?”Connor looked up at me, his eyes shining with excitement. “I'm good, Uncle Franco!' he exclaimed. “I'm so happy you're here!”I felt a strange fluttering in my chest at his words. I didn't know why, but there was something about this little boy that had captured my heart. It didn't matter that he wasn't my son, or that his father was a man I had never met. All that mattered was the bond that we had formed, the connection that seemed to grow stronger with each passing day.“I'm happy to be her

Before I could answer, Martha stepped forward. ”Madam, you need to calm down,” she said firmly. "Sir Franco brought Connor to the hospital immediately. No one is to blame."Celine's anger gradually subsided as Martha explained that Connor's illness was unexpected.“Celine, we were just playing and he suddenly became pale so I checked him immediately. He told me he was not feeling well so I bring him immediately to the hospital, “I explained, hoping she would understand. But she didn't answer me."He has an anemia,"I said.As I watched Celine and Martha take turns comforting Connor, I felt a sense of relief. Despite the uncertainty and fear, we were all there for him. I would do whatever it took to ensure that Connor received the best possible care and that he knew how loved he was.Suddenly, the doctor entered the room, his expression grim. “Connor will need a blood transfusion,” he announced.Martha's eyes fell upon me. “Sir Franco, you're a match,” she said hesitantly.I was stunned

Days passed by, a blur of anxious anticipation and forced cheerfulness. Connor was discharged from the hospital, a whirlwind of medications, and I visited him. I brought a stuffed dinosaur, a gift I'd chosen with a nervous hand, hoping it would somehow bridge the gap between us, a gap I'd carved myself. The mansion was filled with the scent of antiseptic and the hushed whispers of Celine's worry. She offered me a stiff smile, her eyes darting between Connor and me, a silent plea for normalcy in a situation that felt anything.“He loves dinosaurs, you know,” she said, her voice strained. “He'll be thrilled with this.”I nodded, forcing a smile. “I hoped so. I thought he might like it.”Connor sat propped up on the sofa, his pale face illuminated by the flickering light of the television. His eyes, usually bright and mischievous, were dull, the vibrant spark dimmed by medication. He looked at the dinosaur hesitantly, then back at me, a flicker of recognition in his eyes.“It's a Tyranno

I couldn't shake the feeling that Celine was hiding something. Why was she so resistant to giving me any information about his father? As I drove my way home, my mind was full of thoughts about Connor's father. Where could I find Michael Chua? Was he even still alive? What was his background? I felt like I was in a puzzle with missing pieces, each one leading me further down a rabbit hole of mystery and unanswered questions.I knew I wasn't perfect, but I genuinely cared for Connor. He was the only thing that brought me joy after all the problems of the company that I’m facing right now. He filled the void in my heart. I longed for a son of my own, and seeing Connor happy fueled that desire. I was determined to be a good father figure to him, even if it meant going against Celine's wishes.I don’t understand my feelings right now. There had to be a reason why she was so fiercely protective of Connor's past. Was she afraid of the truth coming out? Was there something about his father t

Athena looked around my office as if she was investigating a crime scene. She then walked towards me, her eyes narrowed.“I'm just checking in on you,” she said. “Making sure you're not having an affair.”My blood boiled. I was already frustrated by the problems at my company, and now she was accusing me of cheating on her?“Athena,” I said, “I'm serious. I'm trying to work here.”“Oh, so you're saying that if you weren't working, you would be having an affair?” Athena asked, sarcastically.“No, that's not what I'm saying,' I said. “I'm just saying that I need some space right now so please leave now,”“Space?” Athena asked. “You're always asking for space. What are you hiding from me?”“I'm not hiding anything,” I said. “I just need some time to think.”“Think about what?” Athena asked. “About how you're going to cheat on me?”“Stop it, Athena,” I said. CELINE'S POVAround 3pm in the afternoon, Martha and Connor just arrived and my heart sink as Connor skipped into the house with his head hanging low. The usually buoyant steps that filled me with joy now echoed a profound sadness that tugged at my core.“Mommy, I don't want to go to school anymore,” he whispered, his tiny voice filled with a fragility that belied his age. His big brown eyes, once filled with laughter and mischief, were now clouded with unshed tears.“What's the matter, my love?” I asked, my heart heavy with concern. “Did something happen at school today?”Connor hesitated, his lips trembling slightly before he blurted out the words that cut me like a knife, “My teacher said we're having a family day on Monday, and she asked us about our fathers. Everyone said they have dads, but I don't.”A wave of guilt and sorrow washed over me as I witnessed the pain etched on my son's face. I had always known that Connor would eventually face questions about his father, but I had
