Chapter Thirty Three_The meeting

Elena.

He came at the exact time Ari had given to him. Ten fifteen on the dot on a Tuesday morning at a coffee shop close to the Eiffel Tower.

"Elena."

He was here. In Paris. Standing a few feet away from me and looking unexceptionally calm.

"We were supposed to talk on the day of the wedding. You refused to talk." He stuffed his hand into his pockets and rocked back on his heels. His pants were more faded than he typically liked, but that was the only thing different. He had on a well ironed shirt and had styled his hair in his usual pattern.

He was the same Elliot.

Handsome, charming, manipulative, and once held a caring streak for me.

Some people were capable of change, but Elliot wasn't one of them. He was as set in his ways as concrete.

If he had agreed to this meeting, then he wanted something.
