Holding a Grudge

NERO’S POV

After the doctor left, my mother made sure I was put away. I was made to stay away from going close to her or even getting a glance at her.

“I don’t trust you not to kill her while she’s unconscious.” She had said to me while I begged for them to let me see her. It was on me, I did this to her and now everyone else knew she was not safe around me.

While we all waited through the night, my mother and a few maids walked in and out of the room. It worried me to the point where I couldn’t sit and do nothing. I pulled one of the maids aside and demanded an explanation.

“The Princess is still trying to fight off the rest of the poison in her system. She has high fever that’s why Luna demands that we bring bowls of cold water so that her body can be wiped with a cloth.”
