Chapter 5: The mark in the past

As Lyon stopped the door from closing, Selene's eyes widened. I had a feeling! It's not good to play with my crazy husband, she thought to herself.

"It's better to sleep after a bath," Lyon says as he walks into the bathroom.

"Then you should take a bath first—-"

Before Selene could finish her sentence, Lyon grabbed her and leaned against the wall. "It would be much better if you could accompany me..."

When Selene felt the warmth of Lyon's breath in her ear, she sighed. " Lyon..."

Lyon said, sliding his middle finger from her neck to her shoulder, "I love hearing my name with your alluring voice..."

Selene bit her lower lip to stop the moan, but it only heightened Lyon's desire.

"Your flustered expression turns me on..."

Lyon's fingers on Selene's shoulder rose to lift her bowed face.

"I want you, Selene Wright Armstrong..."

He is speaking the truth... I can see lust in his eyes, and if I look in the mirror now, I'm sure my own do!

Lyon's mouth... It's very kissable...

Lyon's lips brush against Selene's, ending her long wait. It's quite gentle... Every nook and cranny of the lips is tasted.

And it surprised Selene because she hadn't expected Lyon to be so gentle... Selene was taken aback by her husband's gentleness, given that he is a ruthless assassin and the ruler of the Underworld.

Lyon said between kisses, "Undress me..."

Selene's hands rose, hypnotized by the kiss, and unbuttoned Lyon's long sleeves.

It didn't stop there... Selene rubs her finger on Lyon's bare chest, the source of Lyon's mental breakdown.

The gentle kiss was impulsive and inquisitive, and Selene responded in kind.

Lyon's hands began to slide down Selene's neck... until it reached the robe's strap.

Lyon's tongue bursts inside Selene's mouth, his hand lining each curve of her body. "Ahh..." Selene screams in delight.

Lyon, on the other hand, was startled and trembled when he touched Selene's scar. The lust that had been enveloping her at the time vanished.

No! I can't live in my past! That is long gone!  Selene reminded herself that the torture she experienced from the people who kidnapped her is not easy to forget.

She tries to push that emotion aside and focus on Lyon's kiss and touch, but she doesn't expect him to pause.

Lyon signed as he kissed Selene on the cheek. It almost kills him to stop, but if he continues, he will kill himself.

Lyon came to a halt when he sensed Selene's shiver.

Lyon turned her around and opened the shower, which perplexed Selene.

Lyon removed the robe Selene was wearing, exposing the scar to him.  He rubs and kisses it gently.

Lyon asked gently, "Does it still hurt?"  He had previously asked Gemma to find a way to remove it, but Selene refused to show her body to anyone.

"It heals..." Selene replied softly. Although the wound has long since healed, the impact on her life is still visible. The scar is identical. It will always leave an impression on her.

Lyon back hugged Selene and whispered, "I promise to remove this scar from your life..."

Selene was at a loss for words. She has no idea Lyon is aware of her misery. They never get the chance to be close for the fast year. Selene cut herself off from him, preventing them from getting to know each other.

It marked the start of a new chapter in Lyon and Selene's lives.  The latter has become more vocal about her emotions.

But, because Lyon is preoccupied with his duties as a mafia boss and CEO, Selene is forced to speak with Lucas on occasion.

Lucas is the only person with a clean background, so he is the only normal person in Lyon's life, according to Selene.

"Lucas, I'm bored..." Selene said once while on the phone.

"Ha Ha Ha! I thought I wouldn't hear that from you!" Lucas teases.

"Hmm, I'm waiting for Lyon to ask me out, but he never did!" she exclaims. "Your brother is too busy with his profession and probably partying with another superstar!" Because of the news on the internet, Selene is bound to be envious. But because she couldn't tell Lyon, she simply complained to Lucas.

"Come on, we know my brother... He will never cheat on you..." laughs Lucas. "And the solution to your boring life is very simple... Why don't you ask Lyon?"

Selene was taken aback because she hadn't asked Lyon since then. Selene returned her gaze and noticed the man who had been the subject of their conversation. "Lucas, I'll call you later... bye," she said without waiting for his reply.

"You're early..." Selene inquired when Lyon approached her.

"Who's that?" Instead of answering Selene asked. Despite the fact that he is already aware of the caller.

"Oh, it's Lucas..." Selene said.  "Are you busy? Can I speak with you for a moment, please?"

"What is it?" Lyon asks, his face flushed." he inquired as he entered his office.

"The holiday is approaching—" Selene trailed Lyon nervously.

Lyon cut Selene off mid-sentence, "I don't do holidays..."

Selene's smile faded, and she was replaced by sadness; she assumed Lyon would agree because their relationship had changed, but she was mistaken.

"Are you willing to make some exceptions this year?" "I've been missing my family and the things we're doing right now," Selene says, tears welling up in her eyes.

Lyon locks his gaze on Selene. He came home because he missed her so much, but when he saw Selene laughing while talking to Lucas on the phone, he became enraged.

Lyon has never been jealous in his life... just now! And the worst part is with his brother!

"Please," Selene begged.

Lyon signed off, "Let me think about it..." Lyon's heart softened as he saw Selene's cat-eye pleading with him.

Selene couldn't stop herself from wrapping her arms around Lyon. "Thank you," she softly says as she kisses his cheek.

"If you don't stop teasing me, I can't stop wanting you, Selene," Lyon said as he gently touched Selene's chest.

Selene bites her bottom lip.
