Chapter seven
Maeve
I stared at Arthur, wondering if he was just joking or if he was being serious. He sat in front of me on the chair and I really couldn't tell what was going on in his mind.
He looked serious, but at the same time, he didn't seem sure of himself. I looked at him for a while before speaking.
"What do you mean, Arthur?" I frowned. "I really don't understand what you're saying."
Arthur sighed as he stood up from the chair, running his fingers through his hair.
"I really don't know, Hazel. This marriage was forced on me. It isn't what I want for myself. Before I got married to you, I was dating someone that I love very much, and I am not ready to leave them for any reason." I stared at him in disbelief.
"You seemed to have forgotten that this marriage was forced on me too. You're not the only one in the situation, so you don't get to choose what I do and what I don't." I said, still calm. "For crying out loud, Arthur. Are you even thinking?"
"I am, Hazel. All I know is that I don't have any to be with you. I could easily have waited till that day and just dump you, but I chose to tell you so that it won't catch you by surprise, but you're starting to see it the wrong way." He tried to explain, but I wasn't having it.
"How does that make anything better? I'm still the one who ends up divorced, I'm still the one who ends up being thrown out while you enjoy the rest of your life with another woman. I'm still the one that goes back to my parents after you've divorced me, to tell them what?" I asked him, actually waiting for an answer.
"Do you have any idea how embarrassing that will be for me and my family? I'd turn into a joke, something to laugh at in my pack, and that is definitely not what I want." I let him know. "So you can take your stupid notice and shove it up your own ass."
"Hazel, I really don't want this to turn into something that we both don't want. I do not love you, you have to understand that. I was just being nice to you because we were put in this together. This sham of a marriage is going to end immediately my father dies."
I narrowed my eyes at him as he spoke. Arthur really sounded crazy. He even looked forward to his own father's death because of a woman. Even though we had been arranged to marry, I expected that our chemistry would grow with time, and we would end up falling in love or we would at least come to a mutual understanding of some sort to treat each other fairly, but it seemed he had other things in mind.
I might also have had a lover outside, he didn't know that. He didn't know what I had to sacrifice to get married to him, and even after that, I was still willing to live in peace. For Pete's sake I had to take my sister's place after she ran away from him.
I could have easily done the same, but I chose not to. I was happy when I found out that he was the one I was going to get married to because he seemed reasonable. I even rejected Hazel's offered to take back her place because I thought I had finally found a better life.
"I never said that you were in love with me, Arthur. I'm just being a civilized human being, who cares about other people's feelings and not a person who has a whiny bitch bugging me."
I knew he had a lover even though I hadn't seen her before. I knew she might have been close to me at some point, I just didn't know who she was.
"What did you just say?" Arthur turned to me, his eyes looking extremely angry.
I could already feel his fury, but I didn't care he was being I sensitive to me, so I would do the very same.
I stood up from the bed and walked to him. "You heard what I said, Arthur. Stop trying to act like you're doing this all on your own. It's obvious that there's a bitch. You weren't like this yesterday and all of a sudden, you expect me to believe that you came up with this on your own."
"Stop calling her a bitch!!" He shouted in my face.
"I'll call her whatever the hell u want, Arthur. You have no right over me. I used to respect you before, but that's all gone now. You're just a puppet that's being played with and even you don't see it."
The rage in his eyes only got worse as he made to catch me, but I was fast enough to dodge.
"What the hell do you think you're doing? Don't even think about it or the entire pack and your father will hear about what you just told me." I smirked.
I moved away from him and strutted to the window. I was really tired of people tossing me around and making decisions for me all my life. My parents had tossed me around and did as they liked to me and I never uttered a word of protest. All the people in the pack looked down on me because of who I was and I never protested.
Now I was out of my parent's house and the pack. I wasn't going to let it continue that way. Even if he didn't know that I wasn't who I claimed it be, that didn't give him any right to treat me like a toy.
I looked outside for a while before turning back to Arthur who had sat down and was rubbing his hand on his forehead, obviously frustrated. I laughed a little before moving back to him.
"You're an alpha, Arthur, not anyone's little bitch. You should be able to make decisions for yourself. You're going to be the next alpha of this pack. Your people need a man who can make decisions for them, not a man who listens to everything a woman says." I stand up straight and go back to the bed.
"You're were really even waiting for your own father's death because you want to get married to another woman. Pathetic." I scoffed.
"I've had enough of your insults for one day, Hazel. You do not talk to me in that manner, don't forget that I am your husband and alpha." He stood up from the chair and towered over me.
"Alpha my foot." I scoffed and looked away, and just as he was about to say something else, a knock came to the door.
We both stared at each other and then at the door before Arthur moved back and I stood up from the bed to go answer the door. I opened it to see his father standing there. I winced, wondering if he had heard what we were saying.
"Hello, alpha. So nice to see you. Waht brings you here?" I asked him with a nervous smile on my face.
"Hello, Hazel. I hope you've had a fine day?" He said as he stepped into the room.
I shut the door behind him and answered.
"Yes, alpha. What brings you here?" I asked again.
"I just heard shouting while I was in the hallway, so I wanted it come and check what the problem was." He said and turned to Arthur. "The both of you are just a few months into your marriage and you're already fighting like this. What could be the problem?" He asked, looking between the two of us.
Arthur looked at me, his eyes wide. I had threatened to expose him to his father, so he was scared that I would actually do it.
"It's nothing, alpha. Arthur was just disagreeing with me in something, that's all." I said with a sweet smile on my face, Arthur clenched his jaw.
"Are you sure it's nothing serious, Hazel?" He asked, looking sternly at Arthur.
"I'm sure, alpha. It really nothing. It's just a normal couple's banter. Isn't that right, Arthur?" I asked him, raising an eyebrow at him as he stared at me.
"Yes, father. It nothing serious. Well resolve it in no time."
"Okay." Alpha nodded. "If you say so." He said and started walking out of the room.
"But no more arguing." He said as he opened the door.
"Yes, alpha." I said to him as he pulled the door shut.
I smirked at Arthur before retaking my place on the bed.
"You should thank me for not saying anything." I said and his eyes shot daggers at me and I burst out laughing.
"Go to hell, you witch. I'll make sure I get what I want, no matter what it takes." He said and walked towards the door.
He slammed it shut behind him as I smirked.
There is absolutely no way that I am going to give you what you want, Arthur.
Chapter eightMaeveThe Silver Stone pack had been preparing for the annual celebration of the Moon goddess for a while and everyone was excited about it. The whole pack had been decorated and the place looked really beautiful.I was excited for the ceremony because there was going to be a lot of food and drinks. Alpha Damien had made sure the ceremony would be the best of it's kind.As for Arthur, he had been avoiding me since the argument we had the other day and I had absolutely no problem with it, as long as he didn't go through with what he said, them we would have no problems. Through out the preparation process, I had noticed a particular woman hovering around him, so I could quickly tell that she was the girl he had been talking about. I pretended to be nonchalant about it whenever he was around, but what he had said really hurt me. It hurt to think that I was the only one that had started falling in love. Yeah, I finally said it. I had finally said it. I had been denying i
Chapter nineMaeveArthur and I stood facing each other, while his mistress stood beside, a frown on her face."What the hell did the two of you just say?" She said, her annoying voice ringing in my ear.We both ignored her as we stared straight into each other's eyes, the whole world melting around us. Never would I have imagined that Arthur around end up being my mate, not after everything that had happened between us. A part of me felt happy, while the other felt sad, but majority of me was happy. I stared into his eyes, happy to have finally found my mate. "Arthur!!!" The whiny bitch exclaimed and pulled him back, bursting our little bubble. I glared at her, wondering what her problem was. Just then, the gravity of what just happened dawned on me. Arthur that I had been simping for, the same Arthur that I had a crush on was my mate.I shook my head, trying to see if I was actually dreaming, but I wasn't. He would have no choice but to accept me now that we were mates. He would
Chapter tenHazelI had managed to sneak into the Silver Moon pack unnoticed. I wanted to be able to study Maeve and Arthur, so that I would know the best way to get Maeve out of the house and take her place. How dare she think that she would take my place and not give it back to me? As far as I was concerned, Maeve was the most self centering person I had ever met. I begged her to leave, so that I could take my rightful place, but the bitch refused to because she seemed to be enjoying a luxurious life. I had to do something to get her out of the house.I was watching Maeve when I noticed her acting weird and walking as if she was following a scent. I frowned and followed her to she her walk u to a corner. Standing afar off was Arthur with another woman and Maeve walked towards them and it seemed like Arthur was her mate. I was shocked when I heard it. I was just about to give up and start going home when I saw Arthur push her away. I was confused as I couldn't really hear what th
Chapter elevenHazelI followed behind Alpha Damien as he stomped angrily towards what seemed to be Arthur's room. I smirked, loving how my plan was working perfectly. We got to the door and the Alpha knocked. After a while, Arthur came to the door and opened it. The minute he saw me, he gasped and stumbled back. It was as if he had seen a ghost. I tried to hold my laughter at the look on his face. If it was another situation, I would have laughed out really loud."Why are you looking at her like that?" Alpha Damien asked him."You….. I thought you said that you were going to leave and never return." He said, still shocked."What? Is that what happened?" Alpha Damien turned to me. "Yes, Alpha." I sobbed. "He told me that there was nothing I could do to seperate him and his mistress, and that he was going to divorce me in the end, so made the decision to leave while I still had my dignity." I said."The only reason why I came back was because I thought of how nice you had been to me
Chapter twelveHazelThe argument between father and son was becoming more and more interesting by the moment. They were currently having a stare off after Alpha Damien had told Arthur that he would not make him alpha and banish Zoey. "So, what is your choice?" Alpha Damien asked.Arthur was quiet for a while, thinking about the options that he had. I could tell that he really didn't want to leave his position as the next alpha. "Give me an answer!!" Alpha Damien growled."I'll do what you want!!" Arthur shouted and I smirked.Finally."I thought so. Take her back as your wife and accept her. If she complains to me one more time or I hear that you've been close to that brat, I won't hesitate to do what I want, just like you." He said and walked away, leaving the two of us alone.Arthur glared at me after Alpha Damien couldn't be seen anymore. He looked at me with so much contempt, but I just laughed."I hate you so much." He growled and I scoffed."Just exactly who is supposed to ha
Chapter thirteenMaeveI stared blankly out of the window of the bus I was in as the trees were going by in a flash. I basically looked like a zombie, because I had cried so much that my eyes were permanently swollen, I hadn't eaten for days, so I had lost some weight on me.I had been traveling for weeks since I left the Silver Moon pack. I had to get away from everyone and everything. I couldn't handle the hatred and disdain that everyone felt towards me. I felt so worthless after Arthur had rejected me. I never knew how special it felt to find your mate and know that the Moon goddess had made someone special just for you, until I felt that connection with Arthur. It felt unlike anything I had ever felt, but the moment he rejected me for Zoey, it hurt more than I could ever have imagined. I vowed that I would never return and even if I ever did, I would I would get my revenge on all the people that had made my life miserable no matter what. But for now, I needed to start a new lif
Chapter fourteenMaeveI followed behind the man as he led me down a path, away from the lake with some of the warriors following us. Even though he had said that he was going to be fair in judging me, I was still scared. I didn't go all the way just to end up dying."What is your name?" He asked me and I cleared my throat before answering."It's Maeve." I said and he nodded."So, Maeve, what pack are you from?" I didn't know of I should tell him where I truly was from or Arthur's pack. I really didn't want to start explaining my story to anyone, so I just decided to tell him about my birth pack."I am from a pack in the Northern regions. The Night Shadow pack." I said and he hummed."Wow, that's quite far away." He said and I swallowed. "Anything you would like to share?" He asked me and I looked away.I had to tell him something. A wolf wouldn't just leave their pack and take refuge in another for no reason. I couldn't tell him what happened with Arthur, so I would just use my pare
Chapter fifteenMaeveIt was the next day and I was preparing for the iniciation ceremony. Alpha Devon had gotten me a dress to wear for the ceremony. It was a short white dress with studs on it. It was really beautiful. They had prepared a small gathering with just a few people present. The pack preist was present and Alpha Devon was standing beside him while I knelt in front of the both of them with my hand placed on my chest."Do you swear to protect and defend this pack as it's member anywhere you go?" The priest asked."Yes, I do.""Do you pledge allegiance to Alpha Devon and name him as you one and only true alpha, to stand by him and this pack?""Yes, I do.""What part of society would you like to be a part of?" He asked and I looked around, thinking."I would like to be a warrior of the pack. To train to be the strongest and protect the pack and it's leader." I said and he nodded."Can the leader of the warriors step up?" He said and the leader stepped up."Stretch forth your
Epilogue: A Promise Fulfilled - A Perspective from HazelThree years had swiftly passed since the emotional encounter with my sister Maeve, and life had taken a beautiful turn for Arthur, our twins, and me. The wounds of the past had healed, and our love had blossomed, creating a nurturing environment for our children, Luna and Orion. As the years went by, Arthur and I remained devoted to ensuring that our twins grew up in a home filled with love, respect, and understanding. Despite Orion not having a wolf, we never treated him differently from Luna. We celebrated their uniqueness and individuality, encouraging them to embrace their gifts and strengths wholeheartedly.Luna, with her silver eyes that mirrored her father's, displayed her leadership potential from an early age. She was wise beyond her years, often mediating between other children and solving disputes with a remarkable sense of fairness. Orion, on the other hand, had inherited my resilience and resourcefulness, often find
Maeve's pov sometimes it was strange the way life goes between out when I have been born my parents had yours initially assumed that I was going to be useless because I didn't have a wolf inside of me they thought that I would never be anything worthwhile and in the end of it all they gave all of your attention to my sister my twin sister was given the life that I always wanted and eventually she married the man that I always wanted the person that was my mate I thought that that will be the end for us forever that our relationship with dyed hair and we would never get to be together no matter what I did. now on this beautiful night we were getting officially bonded to be mates forever recognised by the park and I was also officially crowned as his lunar it made me feel so emotional I never thought that this day would never come I thought that it would only remain in my imagination for the rest of my life and then my sister will get everything that I deserved speaking of getting w
Arthur pov I told myself that there was no way I could possibly die here especially when the woman that I was trying so hard for the woman that have sacrificed so much for me will it take for me to come back the actual plan that we made was while the Savage king was out with one of his strongest soldiers to come after me she will be busy friend everybody else that had been increasing by him and it would be a violent takeover she will use her most loyal men that were tired of what the salvage think we're going to make this possible and since he was not allowed to manage it and nobody was expecting the attack. it would happened so smoothly that it will be like a wave that took over the entire place and swept away all the wickedness that I've been involved in it she told me that she had the documents that had all of the faces and the names of the alphas and the loan is that were involved along with incriminating evidence that would have all of them sent into whatever punishment they d
Hazel povby the time that I had woken up I was in an absolutely is wondering what had really happened to me I was trying to post by two pieces of my memories together and the next thing I knew I bumped my nose into a huge one but after a while I realised that there was not a word that has been planted on my bed but whether there was this handsome male figure that was so amazing to the touch and I looked up at him my eyes going wild with shock and surprise as you pull me closer with his hand on my waist and his eyes fixed on mine then he planted a kiss on my lips and wish me good morning. so many thoughts were spiralling through my mind and I wonder which one I was going to attend to first and convert into a question then he was running his fingers through my hair distracting me all the more I recognised him he was that Savage King the one that had to kiss me the first I'm thinking that it was my sister did it come all the way here thinking that I was also my sister as well? sudde
Arthur pov I thought that immediately after I won the final fight I will begin the part of the operation that she told me about but turns out that after winning the fight they were about three days filled with activities that I had to attend to it before I could be giving my final price and to see the truth I had not expected this but I guess I needed to recover if I was going to be finding myself in another 5 years that was also another reason why this opportunity was given to me and I decided not to waste it but it wasn't as if I had a lot of time to rest. I was escorted around all the sales and this time I was actually dressed up in clothes that looked decent and we're not like true love that had been converted into clothes that people were supposedly supposed to wear even though honestly they didn't even look good for rugs anymore I was passing by the cells and then I came to the cell that I was in previously I recognised it by the markings on the wall and more importantly tha
Hazel pov "You can't do this to me you can't do this to me you can-""I'm afraid that we have already done this to you," so it was just a regular morning and I got one of my usual visits from the council members I thought that we would go to the normal routine I will make them and eventually they will give me more time and extend the deadline like they had been doing for some time now but today seems to be very different not only did the alphas call but today also came with some of their healthy looking men and I was surprised wondering what all of this meant however I will soon not too surprised anymore as they began to pack my things out and threw them out of the packhouse. it was like a dream in my eyes you know it indeed was some kind of nightmare because this could not be happening to me of all people all of the servants and the guards that I treated like absolute trash while my husband was away were trying their best to hold the way their laughter as I was being disgraced fr
Mae's pov I invited him to sit next to me with a lump in my throat thinking that he was going to reject it was surprisingly enough he was able to drag his body over to me until we were sitting side-by-side to each other. I wanted to talk about what had happened before when he had been dragged out by way and then beaten up and what he had to say after all of that I could see the pin clearly reflected in his eyes and now I was staring at him.I remember when I first came across this managing my heart had been filled with spite and felt like he had a new kind of regret for everything that happened but after all the fights that he had been going through after all the time that had been by his side decided that it was finally time to forgive him. the man had already suffered enough and I recognise the other person that he had fought as his opponents today as the person that was also his inmate a man has not actually qualified all the way to the finals but when I had begged way to spar
Arthur pov even though it was an incredibly selfish wish of mine I wanted her to be the last thing I saw before I finally passed away I wanted to be able to look into her eyes the one that's reflected of the one of the woman I used to love before and then just at that moment when she will step back into mine. I felt like I will finally find some kind of peace that I had finally been punished enough to make up for all the things that I had not done for the woman I loved when she was still alive. but strangely enough instead of her to be looking at me with some kind of disgust as I was staring at her like that I saw her lips moving and when I followed you them for long enough I realise that she was actually calling out my name somehow that gave me a sudden burst of energy flooded into my body. I grabbed my friend's leg pulling into the ground he had not expected me to do that and so he didn't have a chance to counter attack infact before he could react his back was already to the gr
Arthur pov it was a little ironic that he was asking me the very same question that I wanted to ask myself as I was coming here but now that you had already asked me sit on a chair looking over to me like a king when the only King you was was a king of barbaric wolves that had abandoned their pride and their pack. "I am nothing more than a fighter to her…" I said feeling that it was the most normal answer I could give in this situation he had just thrown the question at me like a slap in the face and I was retracted back not knowing how to react I had to gather myself looking around in a room that was surprisingly filled with different things to get my interest for a while and make it less awkward for my eyes to be wandering around while I was speaking to him. "It is interesting that you say that you are just a fighter to her," he said to me as he payload his chain with the palm of his hand resting one of them on the arm of the chair that he sat on probably in his own eyes h
