Checking For Marks

By the time Elizabeth and I got to the scene, it seemed the drama had died down. We came just in time to witness Orion and his friends leaving with expressions that all spelled 'trouble.’

"Uh, dang it! We missed all the tea." Elizabeth complained beside me.

However, I ignored her as my eyes trailed around the scene. My Nightshade wolf, the one that seemed drawn to Sylvain, was howling repeatedly inside my head, making it hard for me to concentrate or do anything.

'Our mate! He's here!' she hollered.

At that same moment, a cold shiver, like an electric shock, surged through my body. My instincts screamed at me to turn back and I did just that, just in time to spot Sylvain standing behind me.

However, when I turned to face him, my mouth ended up getting too close to his. I gasped but then held my breath as we stared at each other like we were in a trance.

Once again, it felt like time had stopped and nothing apart from the fine man in front of me existed.
