After a while of uncomfortable eye contact, Sylvain released his grip on my shoulders.

"Sorry, I got carried away there." He apologized casually, his expression empty.

However, I was left stuttering. "What... What mark were you talking about?" I asked.

He tilted his head, giving me a surprised gaze at first. I had a feeling that I knew what he was talking about but I still wanted to hear it from him.

Anyway, he eventually shrugged. "You know... Mate marks. The mark a dominant werewolf, usually a male, gives to their mate." He explained calmly.

I gulped. Dominant? Mate?

Holy moon goddess, was he acknowledging the existence of our bond?

"Don't tell me you don't know what mate marks are?" He asked, giving me a suspicious gaze.

Why was he suspicious when HE was the vampire talking about mate marks here? I didn't know much about vampires, but I was sure mates were exclusive to werewolves.

Which added to my confusion of Sylvain being mated to me.
