-Flashback-
Barry was busy cooking his meal when he heard a knock on his door. He was in hiding because a coven of witches was hunting him. He killed a witch high priestess two months ago, and since then he has been hexed, poisoned, and almost killed multiple times.
This cabin in the middle of nowhere has been his safe haven. He actually thought that no one will ever find him. The person knocking at his door just made him realized that he was gravely mistaken. As he quietly walked towards the door, Barry prepared his gun. No one was supposed to know where he is.
"Put away the gun, Barry. It's just us." The female voice was familiar to him.
"Lori?" He asked to confirmed.
"Yes, now, could you please open the door?"
"What are you two doing here?" He asked as soon as he opened the door. "How did you find me?"
"You weren't exactly hiding very well, Barry." Andy, Lori's husband said.
"It's nice to see you too, Andy. What can I do for you?"
"The brotherhood is looking for you. You have to come back, Barry." Lori said.
"Now, why would I do that? As far as I remembered, it's the brotherhood that sent me and my best friend to hunt a witch, who, by the way, was working for the brotherhood. They didn't even tell us that this witch was part of a coven. I am never going back, not ever."
"They willing to set you free, if you will do one more job. This time, you will be working with us." Andy added.
"What job?"
"We need to hunt a prince of hell." Lori's words almost made him choke on his own saliva. Never in his entire life that he dreamed of hunting a prince of hell. Not only they are immune to any kind of bullet they have, they are also hard to trap, or bind.
"Do you guys have a death wish or something? Hunting a prince of hell? Even if we were able to find the son of a b*tch, even if we were able corner him, how are going to trap him?"
-End of Flashback-
It was the day that marked the death of the people he considered as family. They hunted the Prince of hell, and they found him. He was so convinced that the binding sigil they have was enough to bind him until they complete the excorcism rites. But, they were wrong. They were completely, insanely, and absolutely wrong. They haven't hit the half of the excorcism rites when th prince of hell broke loose.
"Uncle Barry, we're asking you a question. What is this room? Why was this hidden?" Ethan's voice snapped him out of his thoughts.
"I promised your parents that I will keep this secret the two of you for as long as I can." Barry responded with the hint of worry in his voice.
-Flashback-
It was the day of Andra's christening when Lori approached him. They used to be partners; handling all the jobs assigned to them. Spending time with each other, and going everywhere the work takes them. It actually came as a surprise to many of the members of the brotherhood that they didn't end up together. He only see Lori as a baby sister, and since the first time they worked together, he swore to protect her no matter what happens.
"Lori, what's going on?" Barry asked. She approached him with weary eyes, and he automatically knew that there's a problem.
"I need you to sign this. Andy and I talked about this, and we agreed that it should be you. We both trust you with all our hearts. Please, Barry, we need you to do this."
He took the envelop that Lori gave him. It was stamped and sealed by the County hall. The moment he opened the envelop, there's this feeling like ants are crawling at the back of his neck. Lori's face was always the telltale of her emotions, and that time, he can see how worried she was.
"You're making me Andra's and your future children's legal guardian? Lori, what the hell is going on?"
"Please, Barry, don't make me talk about it. Just sign the papers. I'm begging you."
-End of Flashback-
"When you were born, Andra, you're mother made me sign a document making me your legal guardian, as well as your future siblings. Then, before they were killed, she made sign an updated document making be responsible to all your family's assets until you reached eighteen." Barry continued explaining.
"It's like they knew that they were going to get killed, why?" Andra asked.
"There are so many things that you won't be able to understand in this world, and I love the two of you so much to put you in a very dangerous place."
"We need to know the truth, Uncle. I beg you, please. We trust you with our lives, so please, be honest with us."
Ethan left the questioning to his sister, and roamed around the room. He's scanning the things he see inside the gigantic room sitting underneath their house. He can't even imagine how they never noticed this underground room. Ever since their parents died, it was practically just the two of them. Barry has his own house in th county, and he only visited them once a week.
"Once I tell you the truth, you have to embrace the reality, and there is no going back from it. Happy life done, normal life out of thee picture." Barry announced.
Ethan was not listening because he found a book that caught his attention. It was another list, but about their lineage anymore. There are drawings in every pages, pictures of creatures that he only have seen in his worst nightmares during his childhood. But, the book seems to suggest that all those monsters exists in reality.
"Werewolves? Vampires? Witches? Gargoyles? Pyromancers? Necromancers? Do these creeps really exists?" Andra and Barry's conversation was interrupted when Ethan walked towards them with the book he found.
"I think you two better take a seat." Barry pointed to the couches in the middle of the room.
Ethan and Andra both sat down on the couch and waited for Barry to start explaining, instead, he walk to the left side of the room. The siblings watched him trace his fingers, and pressed something. They all heard a whooshing sound before the wall slid sideway."Holy sh*t!" Ethan exclaimed."What in the world is that?" That's Andra's expression. The two of them were both amazed, but at the same time, they also felt terrified. All types of guns, blades and medieval weapons are in display. If not with all those other weird stuff, they would have thought that their parents used to be a part of a high-level government security agency, or an organization of assassins."This, my lovelies, is your parents' real life, our real life." Barry started. "You see these? All these books, all these weapons, especially these medieval ones, has been passed down through generations in your family.""Are you saying that our family is some kind of assassins?" Andra ask
After Barry told them the truth about their parents' death, Ethan became too eager to learn everything about hunting supernatural creatures. He vocally expressed his intention to get revenge for their parents. Andra fears that the anger that her brother feels would eat from the inside eventually. But, she can't blame him. They were forced to grow up with their parents, wondering what really happened to them. Now that they know the truth, instead of making things easy, they felt the pain all over again."Your parents saved a lot of lives. They were the definition of perfect hunters. In our line of work, we don't get paid, we don't get thanked, but the truth that we get to save many people is more than enough to keep us going. I learned that from your parents." Barry continued his story about their parents."I want to hunt this Prince of hell. I want to kill him, for our parents." Ethan said. Barry and Andra can see his jaw clenching as he stared at the weapons displayed
"Oh, God!""What the hell was that?"Ethan and Andra almost jumped off their beds when they heard the blaring noise of an alarm. When they both looked at their window, the hasn't even risen yet. Sighing heavily in unison, the siblings went back to bed, and attempted to go back to sleep. They were almost asleep again when the loud sound of the alarm rang one more time."Wake up, sleepyheads. Breakfast is ready. Training will start at exactly five in the morning. Anyone who's not at the dining hall in ten minutes will not eat anything for breakfast."Because of what Barry said, the two of them run to their bathrooms to fix themselves. In exactly ten minutes, both Andra and Ethan are sitting on their spots at the dining table. Barry joined soon after, and they all have a quiet breakfast together. Then, at exactly five in the morning, Barry called them at the back of their house.Ethan had always wonder why there's a huge vacant space behind their hous
They've all watched the news last night. A college student went missing. The last time she was seen was while she's walking her way home near the university. Barry used this to teach them how to find clues on what they are dealing with, and how somehow gather information from the police.Ethan is the enjoying the second part of their training because it includes learning how to hack on different government database, and other kinds of websites. Andra enjoys field investigation more. Their Uncle Barry is in awe as he witness how good she is when it comes to finding evidence and clues."Good job, Andra! Now, what do you think are we hunting?" Barry asked."Well, based on what we have, and the details we have from the lores, I think it's a vampire." She responded."Nice one, sis." Ethan also praised her."You, Ethan? What do you have for us?" Barry then asked him."Well, I hacked into the county's traffic cameras. The only thing I saw unusual i

In just a few days, she already have a full understanding on how to do exorcism, chant spells for protection, summoning, and locating. Every day that passes by, she became more and more curious about her father's side of the family."Andra, how's your business?" Uncle Barry asked as soon as he entered the hidden room."It's doing well, Uncle. Cherry is doing a great job handling everything." She responded."That book is about your father's ancestry, right?""Yes, Uncle. Do you know that one of
March 16, 2010"Ethan, Andra, dinner's ready." Mrs. Lori DuMonte peeked at her daughter's room. They have their music sheet and piano out, practicing for another song.Of all the things that she achieved in her life, her children are her greatest achievements. They grew up to be responsible, honest, and most importantly, they always have each other's back. Andra, her eldest, is a loving sister who always protects his younger brother, Ethan.Unlike other children who would prefer the company of other kids their age, her children always prefer the company of each other. They love to read, and trade knowledge with each other. Andra has a wonderful voice, and Ethan is great with piano. They don't even need a musical teacher to help them. Each other is always enough."Come on, Ethan. Dinner time." The twelve-year-old Andra said to her eight-year-old brother with a smile."Stop." Their mother commanded, almost a whisper. Her pleasant smile faded when the
"Mr. DuMonte," Prof. Mikael Henrikson is standing in front of a gawking Ethan. He has been noticing Ethan was not paying attention to his discussion."S-sir, I'm sorry." Ethan felt ashamed because everyone was staring at him. His classmates' eyes are full of concern."Mr. DuMonte, is there a problem?""Nothing, Sir."The truth is, he never forgot what he experienced at Solomon Manor. No matter how hard he tries, there is no believable or scientific explanation to what he witnessed. Another thing that bothers him is Barry's reaction when he told them what happened. He never said anything, but it was obvious that he knows something."DuMonte! Think fast!" Cesar, one of his classmates, yelled fifteen feet away from him before throwing him a baseball. "Whoah! Nice reflex."His classmates were amazed by how he was able to catch the ball even when he was deep in his thoughts. His sister and him always have good reflexes, despite no proper training
The sun finally smiles at Andra. After what she witnessed last night, there was no way that she would simply go to sleep knowing that whatever she saw could sneak into the lake house and harm her brother. Instead, she stayed in the living room and guarded the house with a knife on her hand."Andra? What the hell, did you even sleep?" Ethan's voice made her turn around. She's already on her tenth cup of coffee."Ethan, we have to talk."She tried to explain what happened the other night with as much clarity as she could possibly muster. That is despite the truth that none of it made sense to her either. Her brother listened to every word she said without saying anything until she's done. He wanted to show his sister that he is listening, not just out of respect or obligation but because he loves her."What is happening to us, Andra? You said it yourself, you were able to see the paw and foot prints despite the darkness. What is going on?" Ethan then asked
