“Shit!” Angel suddenly exclaimed and they all looked at him. “Wolfe is gone!” he added.
“We need to move now!” Cole said and the Weres galvanized into action, running back to where they left Ash’s men.
As they got to the woods, a loud howl rented the air followed by terror-filled screams and sounds of automatic guns, firing. Cole cranked his neck.
“Okay, guys, we have ten minutes to find Antonio Rufus and his sons and bring them out here—"Cole said.
“That is not the plan. I plan to let them burn with this shit hole,” Angel said.
“No, Angel. I have a special dose of death serum for that bastard. I want him and his sons to be very dead. I am not taking chances with him, when I am done with him, then you can burn this shit hole down with their bodies in it. I must admit that’s the only way to wipe out the evidence that you guys were ever here,” Cole countered. Angel took his time to think about that piece of information. ‘Death serum, huh?’ Angel thought perhaps that would be a nice addition to his plans. He nodded in agreement.
“Ash!” Cole called out.
“On it boss!” the other man replied. Angel thought he appreciated the way and manner Cole Miller was handling the situation thus far. He is not going to lie though, it felt strange to be working side by side with the offspring of a man who contributed to the anguish of his people. His eyes went to Isabelle, the way she moved in sync with him, with total trust and protectiveness. And then Xavier. He nodded to himself, thinking perhaps when he learned more about him, and knew what his cousins knew, the feeling would go away.
They ran towards the door Angel exited from earlier with Angel in the lead, he turned the knob and discovered it was jammed.
He cursed, letting out strings of expletives, “Sonofa—” he exclaimed and then grunted hard.
‘Sonofabitch! That bloody piece of shit! I should have listened to Kurt and left him in that shithole!’ Angel thought as he fought to get his rage under control. All his perfectly laid plans of how he was going to pick up every of Antonio Rufus’s shitty sons, one by one, and finally Antonio Rufus himself, to give them the very same treatment they had accorded him and his kind all these years – fucked up!
He had it in mind to throw them inside the pit and let every single wolf take turns tearing them apart. He was going to blow up the main building before coming to cleanse the pit with fire with the entire Antonio Rufus generation bleeding to death inside.
Oh! How he had imagined their lives, draining, slowly from them and then the flames eating up their flesh, bit by bit, with them feeling every single agonizing minute of it before they embrace their end.
And now Wolfe had gone mad, went through the secret tunnel he had planned to sneak through to get inside the building—thanks to Nadia letting him in on the secret passageway—and fucking bolted the door from the inside!
Now they have to fight their way in! With no guarantee that they would even make it! And speaking of Nadia, he had planned to hide his intentions about her from the rest of them now he would have to explain himself. “That fucking Wolfe must have gone through here and shut the door.” he cursed out loud.
“Any other way in?” Xavier asked.
Angel wanted to snarl at the question he considered quite stupid! Of course, there were other ways inside, but this one was the best chance they had. He was enraged that his plans may have gone to hell and was extremely high-strung. He took deep breaths trying to contain his emotions. The last thing he needed was his cousins thinking he was unstable.
“The front door? And it is always swimming with guards — guards with automatic rifles with silver bullets,” Angel enunciated his reply, trying to sound calm.
“We are taking the front door then—” Cole said calmly and shrugged. “I told you, Antonio Rufus is not escaping me the second time,” Cole replied in a matter-of-fact way as if he hadn’t just suggested they walk up to meet their death.
Angel studied the big human, his eyes were cold just like most of the killers he had seen ever since his ordeal began. Eyes that mirrored darkness within and he thought perhaps this human might still help to get the ending he had dreamt of after all.
“Listen up! We need only capable Weres for this fight, everyone else should stay back in the woods!” Xavier said.
Angel walked smartly to press his back to the sidewall, wanting to use it as a shield and hoping the dark blanketed sky would hide them from the guards.
In masks and full military gear with chests shielded by bulletproof vests, the others formed a line, imitating his act as they hugged their backs to the sidewall too, letting him take the lead.
The sound of the start of a helicopter blade sounded from up the roof. Angel cursed.
“They are preparing the helicopter for him! He is going to get away if we don’t act fast!” Angel said. Cursing Wolfe to damnation for messing up his plans. He swore that if Antonio Rufus got away, he was going to beat the shit out of the blasted lunatic.
“Oh, hell, no! Not on my watch!” Cole muttered and ran to the open space to start firing at the guards.
‘This guy is a maniac!’ he thought and Jason, Blaze's brother, said as much. And then more men joined in, firing rapidly and killing the guards. But the guards kept streaming out in droves. This was what he had been hoping to avoid – an outright confrontation was suicidal. There were too many of them. He had wanted to blast them all to bits in the goddamn house!
And just when he thought it couldn’t get worse, they were ambushed and Cole Miller was lowering to the floor, wanting to surrender?! Like what the fuck?! He had no plans to surrender. He would rather die, going at them than let them catch him again. He said as much, but Cole Miller seemed not to be overly bothered that they were about to be caught!
And then sounds of barreling bullets came out of the surrounding woods. It was silent but he could hear them. And it appeared Cole Miller could as well. Angel jerked his face up in the direction of Antonio Rufus ' guards and saw them start to jerk and fall. It was the most glorious sight!
Cole Miller, Jason and some of his other men started to fire the ones who were trying to escape and shortly after the entire grounds went quiet as a tomb. Then a loud explosion came from the roof, and Antonio Rufus's crafts that he knew were atop the roof, turned into flying shafts of metals.
Angel's heart soared, an adrenaline rush coursing through his bloodstream with vengeance.
Realizing the front door was now relatively safe enough to walk through he lunged forward, letting all the suppressed rage in him surface.
The first guard he caught felt the brunt of it as he tore off his head away from his neck and threw the body against the side wall. His big chest heaved with every laboured breath.
Another tried to aim a rifle at him and he slapped it away, going for his jugular, he tore it out with his sharp claws. Taking hold of two other guards at once, he slammed their heads together, smashing their skulls. Blood sprayed out all over his new clothes and he didn't care. With his broad shoulders up, chest out, and his head thrown back, he tore his new shirt and let out a howl --- a loud, liberating one, filled with pain, anguish, and the sweet taste of freedom.
He had dreamt of this day for the longest time. Somewhere deep inside him, there was nagging disbelief that this was actually happening but then he took a look at Xavier and Isabelle, his two cousins, killing alongside him and just as savagely. His heart constricted. It wasn’t a dream. This was actually happening. They had come for him.
Angel couldn’t count how many he killed but he left quite a trail on his path, rushing up the stairs with the intent to find Antonio Rufus's sons and of course Nadia — sweet Nadia, naive Nadia, who thought she could use him as some subject of atonement. She figured she got to get away -- walk the fuck away from him? He was going to show her she had indeed made the mistake of trusting him. She figured that was it. That was all she had to do to get to walk away? She was in for a big surprise.
The true reason why he was insanely upset with her tried to rear its head and he stumped it -- deep down inside him. Clenching his jaw. The scene of her kissing him and then walking away invaded his head and he shook his head as a man possessed. The feeling of rejection and being plain unworthy welled in him and he gritted his teeth.
When they got to the corridor where her room was, he asked the others to leave the deck for him, and he started to stride away.
“Where are you going?” Xavier yelled after him.
“Getting something that belongs to me!” Angel growled a reply and continued to go. His voice was cold as ice and his heart filled with determination. Not a single one of Antonio Rufus’s family will escape his wrath.
Nadia winced when the door was pulled open and Daniel walked in. The sight of her cousin should have brought her comfort but it didn’t – it never did. And it was even worse now because she had betrayed her family. And now everyone is getting killed. And with the look on Daniel's face, it was evident he knew what she had done. “Dan!” she exclaimed as he rushed for her, landing a hard slap across her face. She saw stars and cried out in pain. He held her by the neck and slammed her against the side wall, knocking the breath out of her. He was a brawny brute, six feet tall, and she was a mere five feet six inches, weighing 60kg – a great disadvantage. He lifted her from the floor making her legs dangle. His face was red with rage and his blue eyes were burning with murder. “You cunt! You slept with Angel! You let that animal touch you!” he raged. “You actually let that animal put his cock inside you!” “Whuu...” Nadia managed to croak. He was attacking her for sleeping with Angel?! Ho
A few weeks before ... Nadia did her best to be as quiet as she could manage to get to the secret tunnel. Bringing out the iron key from her purse, she forced her eyes open so she could slot in the key. Her hand shook and getting the key inside the keyhole appeared a herculean task. She cursed, silently regretting her night of indulgence and hating herself for not stopping at a few shots when she knew she was a lightweight anyway. She giggled. But damn that was wild! For once she got to go out incognito and be herself – having fun without the bad energy of her uncle and his sons ruining everything for her. When she succeeded in fitting in the key, she let out a quiet triumphant cheer and then quickly covered her mouth to silence the sound. She giggled uncontrollably. Opening the heavy iron door, she walked inside and locked it behind her Finding her way back inside the mansion in the dark tunnel, she took each step as if the next would cause her to sink into the concrete floori
Her smooth hands stroked and caressed every inch of him and then he felt her tongue slowly stroke the tip of his cock, she moaned his name, and then gingerly put him into her mouth Angel moaned in his head. With the drug in his system, even his ability to speak was taken. He was frustrated, embarrassed, ashamed and in ecstasy all at once. The feel of her mouth on him was divine and now to his shame, he didn’t want her to stop. He actually wanted more. He wanted so desperately for her to put him in her vagina and let him feel her wrapped around him. Oh, if his hands were free what he would do to her. He thought as she drove him mad with ecstasy and then she straddled him, panting hard she positioned him against her wet pussy and made him thrust into her. She moaned with no inhibitions and started to ride him. Fast and hard. Angel wanted to howl. It’s been so long for him and this beautiful devil was his to claim but she was the one claiming him, albeit without consent, but he didn’
Nadia managed to skitter her way up a few more floors to the east wing and onto the corridor that led to her room. As soon as she got inside, she shut the door and rested her back on it. She shut her eyes with chest heaving then busted into tears, mentally kicking herself for what she had let happen. As beautiful as the experience had been, she couldn't believe the reality of it. She had molested a chained and helpless man. All because she had been irresponsible enough to get herself intoxicated to the point where she couldn't even make out the difference between reality and illusion. And she felt even more guilty because she had wanted him right from the first moment she set her eyes on him. She felt terrible at the import of her actions. After going through the episodes of her being the literal ‘mean girl’ in high school and then the first two years of college, she figured she had nipped that evil streak in the bud after realizing the hate she carried in her soul for the way her
She recalled her father had mentioned that her uncle was testing the captives’ blood to make some kind of cure for her youngest cousin – the one she had never met. And with how compliant Angel seemed around her uncle, she figured he and the others must have agreed to it, perhaps she was wrong. She was not naive. She knew part of what her uncle did for ‘work’ – everybody did. And no normal businessman would need the kind of security they have in her uncle’s house. Her father was a criminal all right, but her uncle was on another level. She hadn’t been in his house for long nor had she concerned herself with the happenings in the household but she hadn’t been blind to how cruel her cousins were to the house slaves, nor deaf because sometimes Daniel boasts about it at dinner time. She hated having to listen to the creep but she had no choice but to play the Ostrich with her head in the sand. Because there are times she suspected he was doing it to shock her and gauge her reaction. W
She took the elevator instead of the stairs and got to the ground floor in record time. She managed to stride out of the front door, still holding her book and walked purposefully in the direction she had seen the guards. When she got there, Angel was still sitting on the stretcher, He held his head in his hands even with cuffs around his wrists. As if he could sense her coming, he snapped up his face, watching her walk closer. Although it was dark the outdoor light shone dully over his feature, making it easy for her to see his eyes. He seemed disoriented for about a second and then his eyes shone with malice. Nadia felt her entire frame shake. She made herself hold his gaze, letting him see how contrite she was. That seemed to make his eyebrows draw together in a frown. Nadia used that time to jerk cold gazes at the guards and then she hissed. “Really? What sort of incompetence am I witnessing now?” she said in the most bitchy voice she had ever used, folding her arms against her
"I probably deserve everything you choose to do to me right now, but I need you to hear me out," she said in a rush and Angel watched her with a cold leveled gaze. "Hear you out? Did you give me such a chance before you use my body?" he said and watched her lips tremble. "I'm sorry, Angel. I am so sorry. I would never have done that if I wasn't under the influence. I promise you, it was a mistake. Angel… I." "Why?” Angel asked. “Why? I was not myself. I was intoxicated…” Nadia quickly replied, looking puzzled by the question and wondering why he was making her repeat herself. “Why wouldn't you have chosen to sleep with me? Is it because I am half human? A wolf-boy or beast-boy like your uncle guards like to call me?" "That's not what I meant…" "What then did you mean, Miss Nadia Rufus?" he enunciated in a cold, chilly way. His eyes were literally throwing daggers at her. "Your uncle and cousins do it all the time; use anyone they like just because they have guns and killing ga
"You smell good…" Angel said, and the statement made a moisture pool in between her legs. Angel growled deep in his throat as the scent assailed him. He reached for the silky shorts underneath and pulled them down her ankle. He then reached forward to cup her bum, and lift her up, making her widen her legs. Nadia breathed through parted lips then trembled when the tip of his tongue slowly stroked the hem of her vulva. "Angel!" she cried out as an intense pleasure shot through her. "You taste good too…" he rasped in response, then darted his tongue into her. Nadia moaned, gasping for air. The pleasure was profound. The position he had her in should make her quite modified, but what he was doing to her had turned her brains into cotton caddy. He was cupping her butt cheeks, with her legs open wide and his broad shoulders keeping them apart while his face was buried against her core. His rippling muscles bulged in the shadowy light, showing off his strength as he held her up, lapping
When their needs were thoroughly satisfied, they found their way to the park. Angel noticed the little ones were no longer there. Amelie and the triplets had gone back to the cabin but Xavier was there with Cole, Ash, and the rest of the gang. Cole was standing behind Isabelle with his arms wrapped around her, chatting with Xavier and Jason. Opaline was talking to Faelan and he could see the younger Were shifting on his feet and darting anxious gaze to Jason. His big brother turned around and grinned in his direction as the younger Were glowered at him. Jason laughed. Wulfrun, Darrow, Kurt, and Odwolf were sitting around a table laden with drinks, and with the way Wulfrun kept shaking his head and staring into his cup he was certain the Alpha wolf was half drunk. Tiana was in a corner with Ash and with how close their bodies were and the scent surrounding them Angel knew there was some foreplay going on there. "Looks like we have to pick a side," Nadia said in a laughing tone.
Angel and Nadia left his parents and strode back in the direction of the park. Angel wrapped his arm around Nadia's shoulder, holding her tight to his body as they walked. "Tell me about them…" Nadia said in a soft voice. Angel lowered his head to press a kiss to her forehead. "My mother was the only daughter of an alpha—" "Also Wulfblood?" Nadia asked. "No," Angel replied. Nadia smiled up at him. "She was a warrior and quite dashing. According to the story, I heard. She rejected her first mate, and the second and the third…" Angel said. Nadia chuckled. "She said she didn't want to be tied to any mate, but then she met my father at a party and his wolf recognised her as his true mate. My mother said the moment she set her eyes on him she knew she was in trouble." "I bet! Especially if you look like him. It's hard to tell now and it breaks my heart," Nadia said. Angel's arms tightened around her and he kissed her again. "Yes, I looked like him. She said he walked up to her
Xavier, Isabelle, Angel, and Nadia with Hallec in the lead accompanied Angel's parents to an unoccupied cabin not too far from Angel's house. Angel's mother faltered on her feet after the walk, clinging to her son and Angel paused to lift her up in his arms. "Aunty," Isabelle called with concern. "It's been a long day. I am fine, Belle," she said. Isabelle nodded and threw a worried look at Xavier. "Amelie is the pack's doctor. I will come to pick you up first thing in the morning. So she can give you a full body check." "Thank you, Xavier. Cole, Belle's mate, already told us," Alpha Bardulf said, sounding tired too. "He seems like a good human," he added. "He is," Xavier, Angel, and Nadia said at the same time. The old man grinned. Isabelle smiled. "You have quite a number of humans here as security. Do you trust them all?" "Well… they are useful for now. Cole hired them for specific jobs and I am certain that none of them would want to have him as an enemy," Xavier sa
Nadia was with Isabelle, Tiana, Opaline, and Amelie when they all watched the craft land atop the mountain. They had gone to visit Amelie with the new additions to the family as they had been doing for the past few days. Amelie was a bit overwhelmed with the thought of three babies but with the she-wolves' assistance, she had a lot of time to rest and be with her mate. The she-wolves have been taking turns in babysitting and helping with the house chores. Xavier was still a tad careful about having Weres stream freely to the home he now shared with his mate and still had guards standing across the water to the cabin as security and to allow only authorised pack members to cross over to the cabin. But since he was the Alpha to the pack and the triplets were the first babies born by a human mare to a Were, all the pack members were interested in seeing the babies. Xavier decided to organize a party so as to introduce the babies to the pack members. Nadia didn't know the setup of
Angel helped to groom his parents in the jet on their way back to the island, cutting off his father's beard and trimming his hair. Cole gave them new clothes and the two took their baths and changed into the new clothes in the jet. Angel's mother washed her hair and braided it into two cornrows. Her hair was all grey now and reached below her bum. The dress she wore hung on her slim form, but Angel thought they looked quite better than they did a few hours before. The stewards gave them plenty to eat and drink, and Cole assured them they would undergo a thorough check-up when they got to the island. After their meal, Angel sat across their chairs just looking at them. His mother tried to smile at him and her lips trembled as tears welled and spilt down her face. "I never thought that I would see you again. I did pray and prayed for the moon goddess to watch over you and send you a helper," the older woman said in a voice thick with emotion. "I'm so sorry, mama. It was my fault…"
Angel and his parents watched the fucker's blood pool under his head and soak the snow-covered floor. His brain cells splattered everywhere. "Where is the property deed?" Cole asked calmly as if he hadn't just shot a man in the head. "In a box buried under the earth over there," Angel’s father said, weakly, pointing to the left end of where they stood."How come you never gave it to him?" Angel asked, still holding on to his parents, making sure he held them to his sides as if he was afraid they were an illusion that might fade away. "I was hit in the head, when they attacked," the old man started. Angel clenched his teeth remembering the scene too well. "I told him I had lost my memory. Your mother was unconscious for days," he continued. Angel pressed a kiss to the older woman's head as she clung to him. "She lost her voice for a while too. It made it easy for me to continue the charade.""They had killed everybody else…" the older woman chipped in sad resignation. "So there wa
(The Boldclaw Prowlers’ Pack, Ohio. Seven days before Cole and Isabelle's wedding) Angel took a deep breath as the Jeep stopped just in the driveway. The place looked different from the last time he saw it. The expansive bungalow he remembered was now replaced by a massive duplex. The front porch was framed with exotic flower beds and the only familiar sight was the endless ridges of grapevines about a quarter of a mile away from the building spanning to the horizon. He wondered if the small cottages at the south end of the grounds were still there. "Ready?" Cole asked and he directed his gaze at him. "I still can't believe we are here…" Angel said, noting his courage failing. "Believe me, I know exactly how you are feeling right now. But if you don't take that step and find closure, it will forever haunt you. Let's go," he said and without giving Angel the chance to react he pushed the door open and stepped out. Angel was forced to imitate the act. As soon as he stepped out th
"I found out who I am, papa," she said, calling her father the way she used to when she was little or feeling vulnerable. Her father's eyes widened. "W – what do you mean?" he stuttered. "I found out why you and mum wouldn't allow me to use a regular hospital.""That fucking bastard! Did Antonio tell you?! He promised me he will never bring you into his shitty obsession with those creatures---""You mean our kin, papa?""Nadia, listen to me you are nothing like—""I am no longer just wolfless kin as you and my uncle Antonio, Papa. The moon goddess blessed me with a mate, a Wulfblood…""Oh God, he has infected you with his madness. Wulfblood are extinct. They no longer exist, Nadia! Antonio was not right in the head. He was obsessed with those creatures …"Nadia gave Angel a warm smile, Xavier gestured for every Were to turn their back to Nadia and right there she shapeshifted. A gasp tore from the device as her father gaped at her. Isabelle passed a robe to her, standing out of vi
"Tiana!" Amelie called out to the unconscious she-wolf on the ground. "Help me drag her here. She can not die! She was protecting me!" Amelie started to weep. Isabelle rushed back to her and knelt in front of the two women, panting. "Help me drag Tiana here. He shot her in the chest! She was trying to protect me!" "Amelie, calm down…" Isabelle cautioned. The other woman grunted in pain. Isabelle looked from her to Nadia for an explanation."She is in labour," Nadia supplied. Fear clouded Isabelle's eyes. "What?" She muttered and jerked her gaze back to Angel. "Let me try to get Xavier and Cole," Angel said as Amelie struggled to crawl to Tiana, but Nadia stopped her.Isabelle dragged her friend towards the doctor. Amelie struggled to kneel and then quickly tore open Tiana’s vest to check her wound. Nadia knelt beside her ready to help. Angel and Isabelle flanked them, in a protective stance while war literally raged around them. Kurt, Blaze, Odwolf and the rest of the Weres had
