Impostor

Alex was leaning against the rails on his bedroom’s balcony and he had not noticed Kathleen was inside the bedroom listening to his conversation.

He had a smirk on his face with his phone against his ears.

“It’s been a long time but she still hasn’t found out about it. I used to think she was smart, well it turns out i was wrong about her. Imagine having a daughter as dumb as she is.” Alex remarked, as he burst into laughter.

Kathleen frowned and took a step back. No doubt, her father was talking about her. But what was he referring to? Was it about her assistant actually being a woman? Did her father see her as dumb?

Kathleen could not explain the kind of feeling that enveloped her. How could her father say such things about her? She wanted to leave immediately but her feet were unwilling to move.

“Oh yes. Alex is still locked up. Right here in the house. Exactly what I’m saying, she doesn’t know he is. She has no idea i am not her father. I am just going to keep enjoying the benef
