A one night stand in paradise

I found myself in front of a bar close to the mansion. I thought about how I actually needed a drink especially after the long day I had just had.

I walked into the bar and it was the typical bar setting. Couples were already booed up, The heartbroken were having their whiskey at the bar while the men celebrating were having karaoke sessions.

I couldn’t help but watch them fool theirselves singing. I hadn’t gone for a karaoke session ever since the days of college.

I sat on the high stool that was facing the female bartender.

“What can I get you sweetheart?” She said with a smile as she shook the container of her cocktail.

“You tell me. I was forced into a marriage this evening only for me to find my new husband sleeping with another woman,” I said and placed my hand on my cheek.

“Oh honey, let me whip out some vodka for you,” She said with a worried look.

“No ice please,” I said, then gave a smile.

I couldn’t wait to feel the buzz of the alcohol in me. I watched the men at the karaoke stand fool theirselves but there was this particular one that caught my interest.

“He’s handsome isn’t he?” The bartender lady said as she handed me my glass of vodka.

I wouldn’t deny it, the guy was very handsome. He had this aura that surrounded him. He had a black leather jacket on that suited his dark scattered hair.

“He is but like I said, I’m married,” I said as I took a sip of the vodka.

“You like it?” The bartender smiled.

“It’s perfect,” I smiled back at her. I reached for my purse and brought out a ten dollar bill and gave it to her.

“Nah, don’t worry honey, it’s on the house,” She said with a smile then proceeded to answer another customer.

I thanked her with a smile then grabbed my vodka and took a sip.

“I thought ladies don’t like vodka,” A man with a british accent cut in.

I turned around to look at who was speaking to me and to my greatest surprise, it was the handsome guy from the karaoke stand.

“And I thought men don’t like singing in public,” I teased.

“Touché,” He smiled at me. “So is your boyfriend not gonna come cause I’ve been watching you since you stepped in and I’d hate to think you came here alone,” He continued.

“Well if you must know, I’m ma…,” I stopped abruptly.

“You’re what?” He asked.

“I’m single,” I giggled then gulped the remaining vodka in my glass.

I was about to mention that I was married but the marriage wasn’t even worth mentioning.

“Well since there’s nobody coming here, how about I sit down beside you,” He suggested with a smirk on his face.

I couldn’t resist his facial charm, british accent and his charisma.

“Well you’re in luck because I’m a sucker for accents.” I said as I brought out the chair beside me.

“The name is Daniel, how about you?” He said as he climbed the chair and faced me.

“I’m Jane,” I said with a smile.

“So Jane, what brings you here?” He asked me with a curious face.

“Well, I needed some fresh air,” I replied.

“If you needed fresh air why come to a bar,” He teased.

“Haha, you caught me,” I replied.

“How about I get you another glass of vodka?” He asked with this badboy smirk on the edge of his lips.

“Sure,” I smiled back.

I watched him call the bartender and tell her my order. He was handsome and everything I wanted in a man, there was something about him that was refreshing. Like a breath of fresh air.

He had this bad boy aesthetic and I was a sucker for bad boys in my youth.

“So Jane, do you live around here?” He asked as he passed my drink to me.

I didn’t want to be traced back to the Vanderbilt’s mansion so I knew I had to lie.

“Oh no, I stay at Brooklyn,” I said as I took a gulp of my vodka.

“Brooklyn? Why then are you so far away from home?” He asked with a worried look.

“Uhm, I came to visit a friend of mine but she left to go to her boyfriend’s place and left me all alone,” I said, trying to avoid eye contact so that he wouldn’t know that I was lying.

“Yikes, you must really be boring,” He teased.

“I am not,” I argued as I let out a laugh.

“Well prove it to me, follow me,” He said as he got up from the chair and stretched out his hand to hold mine.

“Uhm, where are we going to?” I asked

“My favorite spot,” He said with a smile as he maintained eye contact with me. There was this piercing feeling I felt in me as he stared at me.

“Let’s go,” I said as I grabbed his hand and stood up from the chair. I could feel the buzz of the vodka and the feeling felt exciting.

I was ready to follow this stranger to wherever he planned on taking me because I knew it would be more exciting than the prison of a life that I had found myself in.

“Whoa, where is this place?” I asked as he took his hands off my eyes revealing the beauty of where he had brought me to.

It was a cliff that could see a part of New York. The sight was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen in my life.

“Taa daa, Do you like it?” He asked with a smile.

“Of course I do,” I squealed as I jumped into his arms for a hug.

“How did you find this place though,” I asked as I broke away from the hug.

“Uhm, my mum used to bring me here when I was younger,” He replied with a smile.

“I’m sure you’ve brought all your girlfriends here,” I teased.

“Nah, you are the first woman I’m bring here,” He said while he picked up a stone and threw it to the air.

“I come here when I feel lonely the most, but now I brought you here because for the first time in years, I don’t feel lonely anymore,” He said with a smile.

“I’m glad you feel so about me,” I said warmly.

He then walked closer to me and grabbed me by my waist while I put my hands on his shoulders.

We looked into each other’s eyes and began moving to the breeze. We remained in that position until he moved his face closer to mine and began to kiss me.

I returned the kiss and the intensity began to increase. I took off his shirt and he took off my top.

We finished taking each other’s clothes off and fell to the cold grass.

At that moment all my problems had vanished. I had till tomorrow to go back to my miserable life but for now, I was ready to bask in my pleasure.
