The kid isn't a kid?

She left the building and walked toward the kid.

“ Hello, ” Amaria said to the kid with a smile on her face, the kid turned and stared at her with his sharp pale magenta orbs, as his long jet-black hair stirred with the wind. The sharp look in his eyes gave Amaria chills but she didn't stop.

“ Here this is for you, take it” Amaria said again with the loaf of bread in her hand.

The kid stared at her then at the loaf, Amaria was about to take his hand but he moved back, Amaria sighed and grabbed his hand gently and placed the bread in his hands.

“ What's your name?” she asked as she crouched to his height, but he didn't reply. She sighed, stood up and removed the short cloak she was wearing, and put it around him.

“ You need it more than I do,” she said and left. The kid's face reddened, as he snuggled into the cloak, leaned on the wall and ate the loaf of bread, “ It's suddenly very hot, ” he mumbled to himself.

Night-time…

Everyone locked their houses, no one roamed the streets except for Amaria and her comrades.

“ This is a waste of time, no daemon boars” Dove complained.

“ Keep your eyes peeled, they can be very sneaky,” Teresa said.

An hour later…

“ I think these townspeople lied to…” Dove said, but couldn't complete her sentence because of what she saw from afar, the trees were moving very rapidly.

“ Get ready! It's coming” Dove yelled as she jumped off the building, landed on her feet, and ran towards the entrance.

At that moment, The rapid movement of the trees stopped. At this moment, they were all confused.

“ Where do you think it went? ” Elex asked.

But Elex and Dove picked up a scent, it smelt like blood mixed with a corpse smell.

“ I smell something,” Dove said.

“ Me too” Elex replied.

“ Can you track it? ” Amaria asked and they both shook their heads.

“ It's everywhere, I can't get the right scent,” Dove added.

' It's almost as if they knew we were coming,' Amaria thought.

“ Same here,” Elex said.

A fog began to spread around the town, Amaria and Teresa couldn't see Dove and Elex because of the fog, so they decided to stay close to each other.

“ It's just you and me now,” Teresa said. They heard a faint growl on their right, this startled the two ladies. They both glanced to their right, but they didn't see anything. Something growled louder as it ran past their left, they glanced there, but they didn't see anything.

Amaria glanced again and saw a silhouette of a kid run towards her direction, it was the kid she met earlier, the kid appeared in front of her with a huge grin on his face then something huge from the fog ran towards the child, Amaria was quick enough to pull the child away.

The daemon boar then tried to attack again, but Teresa stopped it by tying it down with huge wooden-stemmed vines she summoned. The daemon boar was massive, it had blackish fur with a red gemstone on its chest, long sharp bloody tusks, and bloodshot eyes.

It growled as it was trying to escape, but Teresa stood firm and tried her best to hold it.

Amaria looked at the kid with a concerned expression on her face as she caressed his cheeks, he nodded and glanced at the boar, he had no fear in his eyes, all Amaria could see in his eyes was pure annoyance and anger,' aren't kids his age supposed to be scared of daemons? ' She thought.

Dove and Elex came running and halted when they saw the Daemon boar.

“ Holy moly, this can't be a level two daemon boar,” Dove mumbled.

“ I thought the same,but it is a level two ” Amaria said. She looked at the kid and said,“ go somewhere safe, okay? ”, The kid didn't respond, he only stared at her. Elex noticed Teresa was struggling to hold the daemon boar, so he unsheathed his huge metal sword, intending to stab the daemon boar. Unexpectedly, two other daemon boars came from both sides and were about to attack Elex, ' but for some reason their power doesn't feel like a mere level two daemon' he thought.

' this should be easy , I think ' Dove thought as she used her ice magic to create a huge shield to block the daemon boar coming from the right and Amaria blinded the other one coming from the left with her arrows.

Dove tried caging hers but it broke the ice, Dove out of impulse created a ice spear and stabbed it through its mouth but it was moving aggressively.

“ Something is making them act this way,” Amaria said.

“ I can't hold this one much longer,” Teresa said, Elex stabbed it with his sword, but it still didn't die.

The blind daemon boar began to charge toward Amaria, Amaria drew her bow back and aimed at the boar, but the kid stood in front of her and brought forth his hand. A dark rune appeared under the daemon boar, and a large shadow hand formed under it, when the kid clenched his fist, the shadow hand also clenched its fist and held the Daemon boar tightly.

“ Be gone” the kid commanded, and the daemon boar exploded into a million pieces. Amaria was beyond dumbstruck. The kid cracked his knuckles and said in a calm voice,“ I only wanted to return your cloak and thank you, but that daemon boar interrupted me, now I'm angry”, his body began to change, and he grew taller and his eyes held a sharp magenta light. The darkness was kind to his handsome looks, but in a way, there was a brooding sense of darkness beneath, and then he smiled at Amaria, long broad canines and jagged teeth gleaming in the moonlight. 'He's a daemon and a werewolf!! yes he is a Daemon and a werewolf, his teeth alone and those piercing eyes' She thought. The guy glanced at Amaria's comrades and did the same thing, the two exploded.

“ What in the world! ” Dove mumbled,

“ Shadow magic, this is a daemonic power,” Elex said. Dove finally noticed the guy standing before Amaria and asked “ Amaria, who's this?”

Elex pointed his sword at him and said,“ He's the one who used this forbidden magic.”

“ Stop, put your sword away. It's okay, this daemon , I mean hybrid, helped us,” Amaria said.

“ He is still dangerous, we can't risk it, ” Elex refuted. Teresa scanned the area and noticed a bright red gemstone on one piece of the Daemon boar that she'd held. The gemstone began to vibrate, she looked at the one Dove tried to block and also found the gemstone reacting that same way.

“ Amaria, Elex, Dove, something's wrong, come look at this” Teresa called, the three stopped talking and focused on Teresa.

“ The gemstones, they're vibrating,” Teresa said, Amaria turned to look at the daemon boar the hybrid defeated and the gemstone of that daemon boar was vibrating too.

' What is going on? ' She thought.
