The arena

The next morning i was woken up by the sound of steel clashing with steel. Upon enquiry, a maid informed me that the sound is coming from the training areana, which is just a few blocks from the Mansion.

I brushed my teeth and washed my face, then changed in to a black sports bra and a 3/4th yoga pants. I tied my hair in to a ponytail. Then i made my way down towards the arena.

When i reached there, i noticed that almost all of them stopped and stared at me. I felt self cautious, i was never in the middle of so many people. Some times my grand father says that, there is no way i can avoid being noticed when i go out. Thats one of the reason, he never considered sending outside.

With my 5’7 height, long dark brown hair, naturally tanned skin, aqua blue eyes and with a tiny waist, generous breasts and shapely behind, i am what most people called sexy. But, that’s not what made them stop and stare. 

As my grandfather always say, i have a glow that radiates outwards and captures the attention of the people i pass by.

"Scared" a female voice asks from my right.

I look at the owner of the voice and find a asian girl with red hair, hazel eyes and pouty lips is staring back at me with a smile at the said lips. 

"Ya, every one are staring" i answer her hesitantly.

"Its ok, you are the new girl with killer looks and a sexy body. Ofcourse they will stare" she says with a wink.

I gape at her bold statement. She laughs at my surpised face. 

"They will get used to you, i am Orphalia, Li in short" she extends her palm for a hand shake.

"I am Althea" i hold her palm with mine for a second.

"Come, where are you going. Whose team are you in" she asks me leading me forward.

"I am Your commanders daughter, i dont have a team yet" she stops suddenly forcing me to stop as well.

"No offence darling, iam scared of the commander. He is there" she points out towards where my father is standing.

"You go on, i will meet you later. You owe me a cofee for showing you the directions" she waves her hand and starts to walk the other way. She seems to be a good girl, a little bold, but good.

The arena is a vast open space, surrounded by huge iron fencing. 

“Hello dad” i greet my father when i reach him.

“Hello Thea. I have been waiting for you” he welcomes me with a big grin and hugs me.

“I hope your ready for this” he says motioning the activities around us.

“Ya, i guess” i think my reply is as convincing as i think it is, because he looks at me concerned.

“You don't have to do anything you don't want to. I am happy to have you with me Thea. I thought it would be good to learn some self defence tecniques, as you being a human living with the wolfs” he says softly.

I know he is concerned about my safety. He don't want me to end up like my mother, who is said to be killed.

“No dad, this is what i am. This is what i am born in to and this is what i want to do. I am fine dad, you don't worry” i assure him softly.

He cups my cheeks and asks me softly “Are you sure”

This time i answer his confidently “I am dad”

This seems to assure him, because he scan for some one among all the shifters training. He seems to spot the person, because he motions for the person to come over.

“Hey Max…” my father greets the blond guy when he stands in front of us. 

His features are rugged, with don't mess with me or you will die attitude. He is on the shorter side than all the other male wolfs here may be close to 6.2 feet. His body is beefy with broad shoulders. He is handsome in a bad boy kind of a way, messy hair, brown eyes and big smile is how he greets me.

“Yes commander” he says to my father when he reaches us.

“Wow…! who is this beautiful angel” he asked playfully.

I laugh lightly at his antics. My father just smiles at him.

“This is my daughter Thea” my father makes the introductions.

Something close to surprise flashes in his brown eyes but he recovers soon enough for me to confirm.

"My pleasure new friend" he say raising his fist for me to bump.

I play along and fist bump him with a smile.

He seems to be out going, loyal and a good guy. Several female eyes follow his every move but, he dose'nt seems to be noticing.

“She will be training with your team from today” my father says.

“I am happy to have you in my team” he says with a smile.

“Well then, i’ll leave you two to start your training now” with that he left us alone.

“Lets get started then, shall we Thea” he asked me.

“Of course” i reply.

“Let me introduce you to your fellow trainees” he says as we make our way towards the other trainees who got selected.

I just give him a polite smile to say that i am ok with it. He introduced me to 25 trainees. I already know orphalia, in short Li. All the others seems to be nice. Except one girl melanie, if her eyes are really capable of producing daggers, then i would have been dead by now. She, apparently is the daughter of an Alpha of a pack near by.

Alec starts by showing us few advanced fighting and deflecting techniques with the sword and asks us to partner up and practice. 25 being an odd number, i was left alone with out a partner. Li offered me to switch with her partner. But i declined, its not fair for her. I ended up pairing with Alec.

Alec is a good and patient teacher. Despite my many mistakes he laugh along with me and shows me the right way of doing it.
