CHAPTER 4

"All the wolves gather, I won't go with that idiot. Of course, I won't go with Alex, that stupid jerk can go with his bitch.

Jake takes my hand and caresses my cheek with his thumb.

"Everything will be fine," he says, staring at me with a tender smile. I return the smile.

"Alpha, the wolf is easily defeating all our men," my beta looks at me perplexed, fear in his eyes. No one has ever defeated us before, we're supposed to be the most powerful pack in the world, and I'm the alpha of alphas. But the wolf outside is not just any wolf, it's the wolf from the legend. Everyone believed that the hidden pack was just a myth, and seeing the alpha of that pack is hard to believe.

"We will go fight, David," Jake takes my hand upon hearing those words and looks at me with fear.

"Hey, everything will be fine. I'm the alpha, I have to fight," I say with a smile.

"But he loves you, I won't allow him to take you," we hear growls and shouts from Alex, claiming me. My beta David, Jake, and I go out to face the wolf that is tearing the place apart.

"Leave everything to me, Jenny. I know you're weak."

"Good luck, Jane," my wolf whispers.

I transform into a wolf, and we all start growling at the large black wolf standing there. I'm scared, I don't want to go with him. My heart is still broken for being marked by another wolf who is not my mate, and it's also broken because Alex has someone else besides me. How could he take me to his castle while having someone else with him?

"I've come to take my mate!" he says in an alpha tone.

"Your mate is in your castle, leave. This is my territory," I also say in an alpha tone. David and Jake are by my side, growling and showing their sharp fangs to the wolf in front of us.

"I won't say it twice, Jane. Come with me, and I won't hurt your pack."

"You won't because we will defeat you," says David, my beta, angry.

"You don't know what I'm capable of for my mate." Alex shows his sharp fangs and lunges at my beta. I run to his aid, leaping at Alex, but he throws me to the other side of the field. David defends himself, but Alex is very strong.

Jake helps David by attacking from behind, but Alex easily bites Jake, leaving him injured.

"No," I say, running towards Jake. "Are you okay?" I say, licking his wound.

But something pushes me away from his side and pins me down to the ground, leaving me immobile.

"You're mine, you don't have to be healing the wounds of another wolf who isn't me!" Alex says with such fury that it fills me with indescribable fear. His anger is evident in his eyes, now darkened, blinded by rage.

His paw presses harder on my forearm, hurting me, and making me let out a stifled scream.

"You will come with me, I don't care how."

He delivers a low blow with his paws, and I quickly fall into unconsciousness.

I wake up in pain in my abdomen and head. I slowly open my eyes and realize that I'm not at home. Images flash through my mind: Alex and David fighting, me being cornered by Alex.

"Damn it," I whisper. I rub my eyes and realize that I'm chained with silver chains. I open my eyes wide and see that I'm tied to Alex's bed. I pull the chains with all my strength, but they hurt me too much.

"Ahh!" I scream as the chains cause a burning sensation in my wrists.

I have to get out of here, but how? The chains weaken me a lot. I hear the door opening, and I tense up instantly. Alex enters, and I can see the fury in his eyes. I feel fear in every inch of my body as I see his gaze. I have never let anyone intimidate me but with Alex... My entire barrier crumbles.

"Take these chains off me," I lift the chains, and he only looks at me coldly with hatred.

"How dare you!" He slaps me, and I give him my coldest look filled with hate.

"How dare you bring me here when you already had someone else. I just want to get rid of you," I say through clenched teeth, my hands clenched into fists.

I'm jealous, and it's an unpleasant feeling. Alex was my mate, only mine, but the stupid jerk had another woman with him.

"She's on the other side of the world now, and as for you, I will punish you. You are mine, damn it! No one can touch you, look at you, or possess your body as I can," Alex lifts me roughly from the bed and forcefully hits the wall, leaving it cracked from such a blow. I flinch, and he pulls back my hair, revealing Jake's mark, but I open my eyes in surprise when I notice it's disappearing very quickly.

"You still have his mark," he says with obvious fury.

"Ah, damn it!" he screams with all his might, takes the wooden chair that was next to him, and smashes it against the wall, leaving it in many pieces of wood.

I instinctively try to move away, but I can't because of the chains. I never thought I would see Alex like this. He's more than furious about what I did, and he's controlling himself from strangling me. I'm sure of it. I tremble like a dog, but I control myself when his gaze fixates on me.

He approaches and tightens his grip on Jake's mark, causing me to fall to my knees due to his roughness.

"You thought I would let you go. You're mine, Jane, only mine."

His hands forcefully hold my cheeks, and he kisses me roughly, with desperation. As if in that kiss, he tells me that I'm only his. He bites my lower lip forcefully, and I let out a small scream. I continue the kiss out of fear that he will get angrier. His lips, despite their roughness, are so soft and warm. His tongue enters my mouth in a sensual and pleasurable way.

"I will come to mark you tomorrow. Get ready, Jane. I will never let you go. You're only mine," he tightens his grip on my cheeks and gives me one last kiss before leaving.

"Jenny, what's happening?" I say distressed. I thought our bond was broken.

"You couldn't completely break the bond, Jane. Jake's mark only lasts for a short time," my wolf answers.

"What!" I say agitated.

"Understand it, Jane. Alex is not like any other mate. You will never be able to get rid of him.

Those words are etched in my mind, repeating over and over again. This has to be a joke. It can't be... It simply can't be.
