After chasing Liam out of my room that night, my life turned from bad to worse.

He didn't let go of any chance to humiliate me to the extent of making me his mate's personal slave.

I was supposed to be his mate but here I was, forced to deal with that piece of shit.

Sienna was and is the definition of a bitch.

Ever since she found out that I am Liam's fated mate, there isn't a moment I haven't dealt with her unforgiving cruelty.

“ What do you think you are doing? Can't you do anything properly?” She shrieked, kicking my stomach and sending me flying across the room.

Being an alpha female, she is undeniably strong.

I curl myself in a ball, protecting my stomach from her hit.

I could not let anything happen to my baby.

Its father might be an asshole but he is my own blood and flesh. I don't care what happens between Liam and I. All I know is that I'll leave this goddamned pack the moment a chance presents itself.

I don't want to imagine what Liam would do to me when he realises that I am pregnant. Forget about harming me, what I'm most afraid of is him harming my child.

“ Do you want to scrub my feet off?” She bellowed and I fought the urge you roll my eyes at her

The water was barely warm and I made efforts to be as gentle as possible.

Liam pushed the door open just in time to have Sienna burst into tears.

I watched as Liam walked to her, his eyes gentle as he questioned her what was wrong.

Of course, she wasn't going to let the opportunity slide to have Liam punish me yet again.

“ I asked Tania to scrub my feet and she used hot water on me.” She said amidst her sobs.

Liam turned to glare at me, a murderous aura surrounding him.

“ You don't get it, do you?” Liam snarled at me and I flinched.

I knew there was nothing I would say that would convince him that Sienna was just framing me to look bad in his eyes and I wasn't about to say anything either. What's the use when he won't believe it?

“ Don't be angry at her, she must have done it by mistake. I understand that she is angry at me because you chose me as your mate but I am not to blame for this.” Sienna cried, nestling her head on Liam's chest.

One would think that she was trying to defend me in front of Liam when in actual sense, she was fanning the flames insinuating that I was jealous of her and that's why I sought to attack her.

What a sly bitch!

Liam pulled her to himself, kissing her lips affectionately. I don't know if he did that to comfort her or irk me.

I clenched my fists, my nails digging into my flesh and drawing blood but I didn't care. The pain threatening to suffocate me from watching Liam kiss Sienna was incomparable to the pain of hurting myself.

' calm down!' I whispered to myself, my wolf howling from the pain of watching our mate show the love supposed to be ours to someone else. Despite exhausting the last bit of my self control, I could not stop myself.

" How could you Liam?" I scream at him, pain and disbelief painting my face.

Did he choose to show his PDA intentionally just to hurt me even more? Was the pain he inflicted on me over the days not enough that he had to bring my arch enemy and flaunt her in my eyes?

What wrong did I ever do to him to hurt me so badly?

" How dare you scream at me?” He snarled, taking offence from me raising my voice at him. I don't know what I was thinking earlier and now that the deed was already done, I regretted it immediately. Raising your voice at an Alpha is akin to challenging him which is one of the greatest crimes a Werewolf could be embroiled in.

“ I thought I already made myself clear? There's nothing between the two of us and never will. The earlier you get that in your thick skull the better for all of us." Liam uttered, coldly making me flinch.

" You've been trying to challenge my patience, hurting my mate over and over. Don't even think that I'll let it slide.” He spat, glaring daggers at me.

I flinched, Knowing that what awaited me wasn't something I would like.

“ Don't be mad at her. She is my maid now, I will deal with her.” Sienna said in her overly sweet voice, making me fight the urge to throw up from disgust.

I didn't miss the sly smirk she gave me.

Liam left the room after making sure his precious’ mate’ was calm.

“ Did you see that? It doesn't matter whether you are his fated mate or not, he will never look at you more than garbage because that's what you are, filth.” Sienna mocked and I fought the urge to rip her tongue. Not like I could do that considering I was weaker than her without getting my neck snapped.

I hated that she was right. Before Liam, even the praised mate could not make a difference.

At the end of the day, he chose another over me. He must hate me so much.

“ Do you think he loves you? He is just using you to strengthen the pack.” I spat bitterly.

Sienna burst out laughing.

“ Using me? That's where you are wrong. Both our packs will benefit from this marriage alliance and I get to become his luna. That's enough for me.” Sienna retorted in sheer mockery.

“ Love is not something we crave for. Only fools like you think it's so important. As long as I get what I want, why would I need such pathetic entanglements?” She added, sneering at me.

I didn't have a comeback for that.

She was right, only fools like me believe in happy ever after and I was sick and tired of being a fool.

“ So I suggest you leave from here. Pack your things and go away from here because you won't like what I'll do to you and your bastard child if you keep hovering around Liam.” Sienna threatened, her words making my heart drop to the pit of my stomach.

Seeing my reactions, Sienna smirked at me.

“ You see, I am not as evil as you think.. Liam is going to be my mate and husband. I just don't want to be the one to end the lives of his pathetic mate and child with my hands. I don't have to dirty my hands because I am sure the rogues roaming the woods would do a perfect job for me.”

She spat, not even an ounce of humanity left in her.

She just didn't want to keep me away from Liam, she even wanted me dead! That even after knowing that I was carrying Liam's child?

Leaving the room, I walked robotically to my room.

Tomorrow will be Liam's and Sienna's engagement party.

With nothing left behind here, I packed a few clothes in a duffel bag.

I didn't forget to take my father's portrait.

The following morning, the pack was filled with celebratory vibes. Everyone was happy, after all , their Alpha was getting engaged to an Alpha's daughter and that meant having a more powerful connection.

I took my sweet time to dress up, wanting to give Liam a good look at what he was throwing away.

Checking my time, I made my way to the hall where the engagement was supposed to happen.

Gasps and murmurs filled the room as I walked towards the podium where Liam and Sienna stood.

“ What are you doing?” Liam asked, his voice laced with anger.

“ Doing what I should have done before.” I said, a smirk dancing at the corner of my lips.

Despite knowing that my next words would hurt me, I still braced myself. I didn't fail to notice how Liam's eyes wandered lustfully around my body.

“ I, Tania Williams, reject Liam Reid as my Alpha and mate.” Ignoring the gasps from the people and the surprised look on Liam's face, I turned around, walking away with the last string of dignity left in me.
