Chapter 29

ONYX'S POV:

The woman coming down the porch steps isn't Hazel. I can't believe she's the one.

Though they have striking features— same height, color of skin and color of hair, I don't think she's the one.

Is she an imposter? Because she's wearing the outfit I got for Hazel.

But when she comes closer, I realize she's the one.

Fuck.

I shake my head to clear off whatever charm my mother might have placed on me because I know she's the only one who would do that to make me find Hazel attractive.

But she's the one and she's looking at me with fear in her eyes. I can recognize that look anywhere.

Clearing my throat, I realize that I've been staring for quite too long. "You look stunning."

Hazel's cheeks turn red and she smiles shyly. I want to wipe it off with a kiss but I remind myself that I hate her so much. I should find kissing her or even coming in contact with her appalling.
