Georgia’s POV

The moment we stepped into the extravagant banquet hall, I felt the weight of a hundred eyes turning toward us. Everyone was dressed in their most expensive attire.

“Stand straight, don’t slouch,” KD murmured under his breath as we strode forward. His sharp hazel eyes moved toward me briefly before returning to the sea of guests waiting to greet him. “Try not to embarrass yourself within the first five minutes.”

That was too harsh, coming from a man who had just spent the entire car ride here smirking at me like I was his personal entertainment for the evening.

“I’m sorry sir,” I huffed under my breath, adjusting the strap of my evening clutch while maintaining what I hoped was a confident expression. For some reasons, I felt here looked familiar. As if I had been here before.

I was here as his personal assistant, nothing more, nothing less. My job was to follow him, smile when necessary, and most importantly not make a fool of myself.

Georgia’s POVI couldn’t understand why I had made such a huge mess at that party. And I couldn’t piece together why. And then, suddenly, memories of Lucy began to flash through my mind. It was as if I had seen her before, known her from somewhere beyond just passing glances at that party. My head throbbed with the intensity of it, a strange familiarity settling over me. Where had I met her? Why did my gut twist every time I remember her face?I shut my eyes tightly, pressing my fingers against my temples, willing my mind to sort through the fragments of my past. And then, like a dam breaking, I remembered everything.Lucy wasn’t just some manipulative stranger trying to stir up trouble. She was my step-sister. The very girl I had grown up with, the one who had always found a way to stand above me, to make me feel small, insignificant. And Damien… my ex-husband. The man who had once held my heart in a clenched fist, only to squeeze until there was nothing left but shattered pieces. T

Lucy’s POVThe tires screeched against the gravel as I halted the car in front of a lonely, uncompleted building. The place was abandoned, forgotten by time.I switched off the engine and sat still for a moment, gripping the steering wheel as I stared in front. I didn’t want to be here, but this was necessary. I had to get this over with.Stepping out, I shut the door with a soft thud and made my way toward the entrance of the building. My boots crunched against the dirt and scattered debris. The woman was already inside, waiting for me.She stood near the center of the hollow structure, arms crossed over her chest. Her eyes met mine as I approached, her expression unreadable.“You came,” she said simply.I nodded, shoving my hands into my pockets. “I don’t have much time.”She tilted her head slightly, studying me, then nodded in understanding. “I figured as much.”I hesitated before speaking again, exhaling slowly. “How are the babies?”“They’re fine,” she answered, her tone calm,

Georgia’s POVI saw them, my two little babies. Their tiny fingers curled around mine, their soft giggles filling the air. I held them close, inhaling their scent, memorizing every detail of their faces. But just as I reached to hold them tighter, they faded, slipping through my grasp like mist.I jolted awake to realise it’s a dream, my breath hitching, my chest tight with longing. My babies. My heart ached for them, but I didn’t know where to find them. The helplessness gnawed at me, twisting into something restless. Then another thought filled my mind, my father and my brothers, Caleb and Shedrack. My family. The home I had been torn away from. I missed them so much and at Ethan’s birthday celebration, I didn’t see them either. I wondered if they were fine.I reached for my phone, the screen’s glow piercing through the room. It was 10:00 PM. Kael should be asleep by now. If I was going to leave, this was my chance to sneak out.My gaze shifted to the window. It was wide open, the c

Kael’s POVFor the past few hours, I have been having sleepless night. I laid in bed, staring at the ceiling, but my mind refused to rest. Georgia’s thoughts filled my mind. I miss her a lot no matter how hard I try not to.With a sigh, I sat up, running a hand through my hair. Maybe a distraction would help. I reached for the folder on my nightstand, the doctor’s report. My fingers hesitated over the seal before I finally ripped it open, scanning the words. No cure had been found yet.I picked up my phone and did research again online, Page after page, medical journals, forums, even obscure theories but still found nothing. I exhaled sharply, gripping my phone tighter. A lonely man. That’s what I was. Not just lonely, but empty. A failed king. No wife. No children. No family here. The title meant nothing when there was no one to carry it on, no one to call my own.If not a wife, then at least a child.Maybe a surrogate mother? Or maybe Adoption? A child to carry my name, to look up

Georgia’s POVMy chest still heaved from his presence, from the force of his kiss, an unwanted, stolen moment that left me reeling with shock and fury. My fingers clutched the towel against my body.Kael stood there, his eyes unreadable, his lips slightly parted as though he was just realizing what he had done. But that didn’t matter. What mattered was that he had done it.“Is this how you treat your workers, huh?” My voice was sharp, cutting through the silence. “First, you sneak into my room, sit in the dark like some predator, watching me undress. And now, you force a kiss on me?”He said nothing.I clenched my jaw, stepping forward. My anger burned hotter than my discomfort. “Do you think this is acceptable?” My voice rose, fueled by the storm inside me. “Do you think you can do whatever the hell you want just because you’re my boss.”He didn’t move, didn’t blink. He just stood there coldly staring at me, his gaze locked onto me as if he was seeing something else entirely. That on

Georgia’s POVKael stopped at a supermarket on our way home, surprising me by heading straight into the babies section. I watched as he picked out items, turning packages over as if trying to decide if that particular product was the best. He grabbed a pink pacifier and then immediately put it back, replacing it with a blue one, I raised a brow.“They’re twins. You should get both,” I pointed out.He grunted and tossed both into the basket, along with diapers, baby wipes, formula, and what seemed like half the baby section. By the time we reached the cashier, I was convinced he had no idea what he was buying. When we got home, my eyes immediately landed on the babies, still fast asleep while we cradled them. Something about their tiny faces, so peaceful and innocent, tugged at something deep inside me. A soft spot.Kael’s voice pulled me from my thoughts. “Make arrangements for them. Get a nanny to take care of them.”I turned to him, my arms crossing over my chest. “I want to take ca

Georgia’s POVThe next day, after finishing my interview with the lady who had applied for the personal assistant job, I sat across from Kael in his office. His gaze was fixed on me, expectant, as he waited for my thoughts.“She’s not fit for the job,” I told him, leaning back in my chair. “She lacks the experience needed to handle the responsibilities, and frankly, she seemed more interested in asking about you than the actual job itself.”Kael smirked slightly, tapping a pen against his desk. “That doesn’t surprise me,” he murmured, shaking his head. “But you should keep the position open. There will be other applicants.”I sighed but nodded. “Alright. I’ll continue looking.”That discussion wrapped up quickly, and the rest of the day was mostly spent tending to the twins. Later, while they were asleep and under Kael’s watchful eye, I decided to step out for a quick errand. The twins were running low on baby milk and a few other essentials, and I didn’t want to wait until the last m

Georgia’s POVI made my way to the room, my feet moving quietly against the floor. It was already late, but the soft cooing and laughter of the babies filled the air, their tiny voices bubbling out loud as I wondered what was making them laugh out so loud.A small smile tugged at my lips as I approached Kael’s door. I knocked once before pushing it open. But nothing, nothing could have prepared me for the sight before me.Kael Donavan, the feared Lycan King, the man whose very name sent shivers down the spines of his enemies, was standing in the middle of the room… dressed like a female dancer. My breath hitched. He had wrapped a silk scarf around his waist like a makeshift skirt, and there were glittering bangles on his wrists. His usually intimidating face was painted with an exaggerated pout as he swayed his hips in the most ridiculous manner I had ever seen. The twins were in their crib, their tiny bodies shaking with laughter, obviously loving his dance. Their eyes sparkled, and

Georgia's POVI would rather leave here willingly instead of being thrown out from my own house. Damien had been playing his game for far too long, and I had finally reached my limit. His coldness, his manipulation, the constant feeling of being trapped in a place that no longer felt like home had all worn me down. I left the bed and stood in front of the mirror earlier, staring at the reflection of someone who was no longer sure who they were, wondering how I had let it all slip away. The person staring back at me was someone who had accepted far too many things that weren’t right, things I should never have let slide. And now, it has come to this. I was too soft, too weak."If I’m going to be treated like this in my own damn house," I muttered to myself, fists clenched at my sides, "then maybe it’s better I leave and never come back."But where do I go?Damien had taken everything from me, my father’s company, the inheritance, every penny I had thought would belong to me and Lucy.

Georgia's POVSuddenly, there was a screeching sound that came from behind me, it was sharp and terrifying, and deafening. My heart hammered in my chest, my breath catching in my throat as the sound of the car tyre tearing against the asphalt filled the air. I whipped around, but before I could fully process what was happening, the car hit me as I fell on the tiled floor with injuries covering every part of my body. It happened so fast.A sharp, intense pain shot through my body. My vision blurred, but I could stIll see the headlights of the car. My body felt cold, as though I was no longer part of the world I had been walking in only moments ago.Pain. Unbearable pain. It felt like every inch of my body was on fire. My limbs ached, my chest crushed. The impact from the car had rattled every bone, and the pain coursing through me was more than just physical. More like I was bleeding internally, all-consuming. I could feel my consciousness slipping away, my body betraying me, sinking

Georgia’s POVThe children had been bathed, fed, and tucked into their beds. They were now asleep. Then I stepped out, pulling the door shut with a soft click so as to avoid waking them. It was already getting dark. The hallway was lit, the overhead bulbs shining slightly as I walked. I rubbed my tired shoulders, stretching my body from exhaustion as the memory between me and the kids played in my head, causing me to smile. The time I spent here, even if only as a volunteer, made everything worth it.The orphanage had a way of wrapping itself around my heart, maybe because I saw pieces of myself in these kids, maybe because I knew what it felt like to crave a place to belong. Either way, I didn’t regret signing up to help.As I stepped outside, the cool evening breeze kissed my skin. The sky had darkened into a deep indigo as I checked my time to see it was 6:30PM. I sighed, stretching my arms before slinging my bag over my shoulder, ready to make my way home. That was when I notice

Kael’s POVShortly after he left, the sound of the door opening pulled me from my thoughts. I turned, my eyes settling on Lydia who strolled in majestically as her gaze was on me. What does she want now?Her red hair cascaded in soft waves down her back, the deep black of her gown flowing around her as she moved. She was as beautiful as ever, a goddess among Lycans, worshiped and feared in equal measure. But to me, she was nothing more than a relic of a past I had long buried.“Hey,” she drawled, her voice honeyed with seduction. Her hands found my chest, the touched my chest, rubbing it so gently as her eyes were fixed on min.My expression remained unreadable, my gaze meeting hers with the coldness I have. But she wasn’t afraid. She never was.“I haven’t really gotten the time to come see you…” she continued, a smirk tugging at the corners of her lips. “But here I am.”She leaned in, tilting her face toward mine, her lips parting slightly as if daring me to close the distance. I mov

Kael’s POVI was once human, despite being the Lycan king in my previous life, but my mortal body perished, and with it, my existence as a man came to an end. Knowing that I could no longer walk among them, I erased myself from the memories of everyone in Georgia’s life. Now, in the afterlife, I exist as a god to the lycans. But even, she persists. Georgia, the one I banished from my heart, refuses to stay away. She claws at the boundaries I have set, seeking a way back in. I have ensured that every door remains shut, every passage barred, yet she is relentless. “I don’t think she would stop soon.” Karl stated.“Karl, I told you to make sure she doesn’t step foot back here,” I seethed, my voice filled with fury. “Yet here you are, telling me you think she won’t stop. Do you take me for a fool?”Karl exhaled sharply, his jaw tight. He stood before me. “I did exactly as you asked,” he said through gritted teeth. “Her visa application was denied repeatedly. But she’s not giving up. If

Georgia’s POVThe boys’ quarters was small but enough for what I needed. I dropped my bag by the bed, sighing as I took in my surroundings. A single wooden table stood by the window and a chair was tucked under it. I pulled out my phone, fingers moving as I navigated to the visa application website. I had checked everything before, my documents, my financial statements, my reason for travel. Everything was in order. There was no reason for rejection. No reason at all.Yet, as I filled in my information and pressed submit, the response came instantly.“Your application has been declined. You do not meet the eligibility criteria.”I frowned. That had to be a mistake. I double-checked my details, ensured every box was ticked, and tried again.“Application rejected. You are ineligible for a visa at this time.”A slow frustration crept into my chest. I met all the requirements. I had the necessary funds, the valid passport, and even the sponsorship letter. So why was it rejecting me? Was

Georgia’s POVSuddenly, we heard sounds of footsteps before I saw Damien. Confident as he approached. “Lucy is right,” he said as he entered, obviously he had overheard I and Lucy’s conversation. He didn’t sit immediately. Instead, he walked towards me, his fingers grazing the back of my chair.I set my fork down, sound against my plate. “About what?”He reached his seat and finally lowered himself into it, meeting my gaze with eyes that held no hesitation. “She’s moving into our room,” he said simply, as if it were a foregone conclusion. “And if you don’t like it, you can leave.”The words hit me like a slap. “Excuse me?” My voice was sharp, edged with disbelief.“You heard me,” he said. “This arrangement makes the most sense. Lucy deserves a place in my life. In my room. In our home.”“Our home?” I laughed, the sound was brittle and hollow. “No, Damien. My home.” I pushed my chair back abruptly, standing as anger coursed through me. “If anyone should leave, it’s you and Lucy.”His

Georgia’s POVLater that day, Lucy sat across from me at the breakfast table, I knew something was wrong. It wasn’t just the overly polite way she had asked if we could talk in private or the way she tucked a stray strand of blonde hair behind her ear, something she only did when she was nervous. It was the way she looked at me, as if she had made up her mind about something she knew I wouldn’t like.I sipped my tea.She exhaled, her lips curling into a small, hesitant smile. “I just want you to listen to me before reacting.”That wasn’t a good start.Lucy and I had always been close or at least I thought we had. She was my step-sister, yes, but we grew up together, shared secrets, and whispered about our crushes in the dark when we were younger. But now, sitting in front of me with that unnerving calmness, I had the sinking feeling that something was about to break. She hesitated for a second before speaking, and when she did, her voice was maddeningly composed. “I’ve been thinking

Georgia’s POVLater that night…I knew something was wrong the moment Damien walked into our bedroom. His face was tight with restrained emotion, his jaw clenched as if someone had just angered him. He stood by the window, staring out the estate. He didn’t turn to look at me, but I could feel the weight of his silence pressing against me.I set the brush down and met his reflection in the mirror. “If you have something to say, just say it, Damien.”He exhaled sharply and turned to face me, his eyes cold. “I can’t do this anymore.”“Do what?” I was curious to know.“Be your husband. That’s exactly the problem. I’m tired of pretending to love you. I’m tired of pretending that this marriage is something it’s not. I can’t cope with you anymore.”For a second, I couldn’t breathe. The finality in his voice sent a sharp pain through my chest, but I refused to let it show, I already saw all of this coming. In my previous life, he had left me for Lucy so I am not surprised. Instead, I stood a
