For some reason Rayna is finding it very hard to find her voice and if she somehow did manage to talk, has no clue what she’d even say. Should she deny it and lie? Or admit the truth? After a couple dances, they go back to the table.

Liam got to the table first and pulled out his chair for Rayna, and then sat in her chair. Putting Rayna between him and Mary. Slick move Liam.

“Thanks! Such a gentleman.” Rayna told Liam.

“Of course, you’re welcome. My mama taught me manners.” Liam laughed.

Rayna is scared to even glance Mary’s way. So she just doesn’t look. She’s so sure Mary is fuming mad over the chair change Liam maneuvered.

As if it’s my fault she thinks. You know what, screw it, she can just deal with it. Be an adult. We can’t always get our way. That’s Rayna’s final thoughts for the moment.

Mary sat there glaring at Rayna as if it’s all her fault.

The rest of the group laugh and chat for a while. Rayna tries to include Mary in the conversation when she can.
