Tyler POV
A feeling of content ran through my mind, as my eyes scanned around the city, from the balcony of my apartment. I inhaled my smoke deeply and it went down, cooling my lungs, leaving the ecstatical feeling ramping up in me and springing up from my core to every part of my body. Somehow, I knew that something was running in me, a feeling I couldn't really tell, or distinguish from all other things I had in my head.
It was already late at night, and I watched the outside world, with the buzzing orchestral notes of nocturnals thundering inside my ears.
It was like anxiety I was feeling, but I really couldn't recognize it. I didn't know what exactly it was, but I had to fight against it. A wave of uncertainty swept all over me, and while it seemed that the feeling wouldn't while away, I had to find out what exactly it was that this was. I had to follow my instinct.
My wolf, Tyson, suddenly felt exhilarated. Jumping, and howling constantly.
"Tyson, what's wrong?" I asked, but he howled instead, not wanting to answer me. I was so tired of trying to read his signs and what he meant.
I tried to mingle with the cold breeze that constantly hit my face from afar, and Tyson too, tried to keep me warm in the company. I should have shifted to my wolf form. That was going to be better.
At least, I had something to deal with.
My Omega.
I had anticipated for a long time, waiting for the Omega, and it didn't show any sign that they were here. Standing here for about 5 minutes made me already want to go inside. It could be that my presence was awaited, and I didn't know they had crossed into our land past the borders. I didn't inquire about any information from the sentinels yet.
I slid past the glass door, closing it behind me, and walked to my sitting room. Turning off the lights, I headed outside. I needed to check things out. It had been long since I spoke with my Beta over the mind link, and while I had a very strong wolf and was able to keep the link over time, Blake's scent was fading, making my wolf unable to trace it and connect with his.
I guessed that was it.
Roaming through the hallway, I flicked on the lights, so I could have a better view. A strong windstorm followed, blowing an intense and evocative scent that I picked up. It was intoxicating and slightly pungent, woodsy - a scent of ixora and citrus.
Tyson picked up the scent, and I didn't want it to be what I was thinking. He was as energetic as ever and jumped, and ran, wanting to unleash himself and dominate over me. A problem I had with my wolf who had little or no control, that I had to satiate his every need.
I followed the scent, taking my steps lightly, in what seemed like an unending pace, while the chills of anticipation bit my skin, and battered all over it.
The end of the hallway led to the anterior of the house since it was one of the major hallways through the entire building, seen immediately inside the house. My eyes caught the sight of certain people, guards, and Gammas, as I perceived since no one would have the guts to be out by now.
Not knowing when I reached, I was surrounded by the people who were there. My gammas, and another feminine figure I didn't see. As I could recognize, it was a female, and I gazed closely to look at who she was.
"You?" I asked, calling out, and staring at her every move.
My eyes widened upon catching her sight. It couldn't be that she was here. How did she come back? Tyson was growing more excited by the way, and I was finding it hard to control him.
"Shut up Tyson. Settle down," I ordered, whispering to my wolf.
A whisper I didn't want to cut across myself. Blake walked up to us. He must have heard the news too. I could see the shock in his eyes, as he stared at her, scanning her from head to toe.
I didn't believe it myself. Was this a self-reflecting mystery, or a nemesis that had come back to haunt me?
"Alpha Tyler, this is the Omega of Alpha Julian Ambrose, the slave sold to you, and we have received her safely," my Gamma said. I looked at Blake, while shock flitted across his eyes. He too didn't know what to say.
"An Omega?" I asked the Gamma. He nodded, keeping silent. I could read that he wasn't in touch with what was happening here. How come she was here as an Omega?
I didn't believe this, but it seemed my mate was here. It wasn't possible because she had died, and I didn't know how she would look like this so much.
Maybe Tyson confused her for my mate. I still couldn't come to terms with it, but I had to maintain a perfect expression, not to make it look like I too was in shock.
I scanned the faces of all the other Gamma and the sentinels. They too had their heads to the ground as soon as they saw me. It meant that I was right.
"Oh. Alpha Julian's slave I see? It seems like she has a long way to go here," I said, making sure no remorse was found in my tone.
"Yes, Alpha. I heard she's almost entirely Omega," my Gamma explained.
"Almost entirely pure blood Omega?" Blake asked, looking at me with shock.
He knew what that meant. Two things. This could never be who I thought it was, and the second was that she was able to hear great Alpha pups.
It did make sense, but I wasn't so certain why he sold her off.
"I still don't know why Alpha Julian had to sell you off," I said, approaching my slave, and looking at her, watching closely. Her face was held to the ground, and I didn't have a good look at it, not knowing if she had a pretty face or one that featured a set of burnt cheeks.
The scent was oozing off her, but I knew it was a misconception of my senses about her identity. I needed to inform my wolf about this, and not let him go wild about me not accepting her as my mate.
Her body wasn't as great as an Alpha or Beta's daughter, like a good physique, but it was quite exceptional, considering she was an Omega. How evil of a pretty face she would be if she was sold off. I bet Alpha Julian should have had her screwed every day.
"Alpha Julian already has so many slaves, and he said he wanted to get rid of a bunch of them," my Gamma, Kyle, explained.
"Well, a good excuse for a bloke who wanted to get rid of a blessing," Blake cut in. I turned to look at him.
"What is that supposed to mean? She? A blessing?" I asked him, not wanting to praise a slave in her presence. For her, I should be ruthless and cruel, but for me, I still had things to unveil in this.
"She could be a blessing, you never can tell," he said, with his throaty voice echoing around the place.
I turned to look at her. Her petite figure was almost visible, with her raggedy clothes. I retreated back, getting a whiff of her scent, and Blake walked up to me.
"Alpha, what is next for her?" Kyle asked, and I turned to him.
"Get her prepared. She must be tired already, however, she needs to get used to this, since this is exactly similar to what she'd go through every day here," I said, sounding more sadistic.
"Would you really do that?" Blake whispered to me, through the mind link. I had to shun him, else he was going to ruin this fucking act.
For a third time, I looked upon the Omega, walking up to her. Taking a grip of her wrist, I could feel her pulsating the more, while she tried to slide it out of my hands.
The game was just getting started, I thought.
"She mustn't have been fed all day, or two, if I'm not wrong. She's so weak. Take her upstairs, to the spare room I asked you to provide for her," I ordered.
Immediately, they walked up to her, and both the men grabbed her arm. I loved Kyle because as much as he was the Gamma, he could be as ruthless as he wanted to be, though he had a very soft heart.
They grabbed her up, and upon reaching my side, I made them wait.
Her eyes.
I really needed to see those eyes perfectly. I had only taken a glance at it before she buried her face.
"Forget everything about your past. You're now mine and will do as I say," I growled at her. I didn't know if she responded to it, but I let her leave.
She was like dead matter trying to stay alive, and a flint of compassion, hard dying pity, coursed through me. I derided it, however, not wanting to fall for this.
I wasn't going to be at rest until I found out the truth, everything about her. She had become something I wanted to demystify.
Turning around, I had to face Blake's playing gaze.
"You saw it, didn't you?" I asked him.
The smile that ran across his lips gave me the answer. He knew it too.
As much as I did.
Selena.
Theda POV As I was led down the hallway that I felt the Alpha had emerged from, so many things ran in my head.I'm now in a new pack.I have a new alpha.I am on my own, ALONE.Those things, I wasn't yet ready to sink down my mind. But one thing was sure, there was a bit of happiness lurching inside me. Why? I was finally out of the reach of my uncompassionate stepfather, Julian.Yes, I had always wanted to leave the fire moon pack, my original pack, ever since my father died two years ago. It's been a lot of hell and torment for me and I had prayed every night for my miseries to come to an end. What did my mother or brother, and my father do wrong to make us receive such torments after his passing? None, I'm certain. It was probably my said- cursed fate. Though ever since I was twelve years old, I had always been different and an irregular person, unlike the others. I met some bunch of Alphas' young daughters then and they seemed more dominating than me. Then my good father, who h
Tyler POVI watched as my mate's clone left the office, and Blake's eyes just made me cringe the more. He knew what the situation was, and I knew that he didn't want to tell me about it. It was killing me to keep it on the inside. I knew very well that this was not going to be a good idea, but for someone I had already paid for, there was nothing to lose."You aren't going to say anything about it?" Blake asked, taking to his feet, and sitting on a side table. He usually felt casual in the office."About what?" I asked him, trying to deny even knowing the feeling. He drew his face closer to mine, trying to study me. He looked at me judgingly, and I knew that his nose could go farther than his brains could. Irony intended, he was a very smart one."Don't tell me you don't fucking know what I'm talking about," he mouthed out, hissing afterward. Clicking his tongue severally, I knew he was ready to bring up the matter, and wasn't going to give up on it. "What exactly do you want to kn
Theda POV Slowly and miraculously, a week passed. I had taken the Omega quarters as my new home and tried my best to be law-abiding despite the multiple yells I received from Zoey. I lived in the shadows of every other person in the quarters. Like most of the Omegas, I wasn't allowed to go out of the quarter and only a few can leave when they have to run an errand for Zoey. One thing was strange and creepy. It was the way Zoey and a few of the high-ranked Omegas stare at me. It was really weird because I found them whispering after staring long at me but I pretended not to care much, neither did I confront them. I was done sweeping the assigned portion of the quarter, I was cracking my knuckles to relax my sprained little finger bones when someone walked past me, shoving me with a shoulder that caused me to stumble. I fell to the ground, luckily with my hands and I heard a roar of disgusting laughter. I arose, dusting my clothes as I spun to meet three girls. Two of them see
Theda POV I hung my head as I shut my eyes, pressed my hands against my sides, and curled my toes in my boots, mentally preparing myself to take whatever verdict I was given. No, it can't be death. I won't die without liberating my family from the horrible hands of Julian. "Theda…you'll go over to the packhouse to serve Alpha Tyler for today." Upon hearing that, I flicked open an eye as murmurings filled the courtyard. Serve the Alpha for the day? How will I do that? So many similar questions ran through my mind until his Beta spoke. "Be at the packhouse in the next ten minutes," he informed me. As he withdrew his eyes from me, he rolled them at Lena who was smirking, and left. Zoey gave me a fierce look before entering the house. "Theda," Jasmine called with her soft voice as she stepped up next to me. She had a frightful look on her face which got me nervous. "Glad you didn't get a harsher punishment," she whispered to me. Lena walked up to us with a sneer plastered on her
Theda POVHe was standing at the door, some meters away but I could still feel his hot breath, making it feel like he was just an inch away.As he entered the office, my heart sank like the titanic ship, my head was hanging and I felt my body tremble. His eyes went down to the shattered glasses of the vase and his frown deepened."Did you break it?" He asked with a groan, and taking another step, my heartbeat increased rapidly. Still on the floor, I couldn't help but notice that he was a good foot taller than me, his black hair was slicked back with the finest gel, and his chiseled jaw set tight as he suddenly clenched his teeth, returning his gaze to me.Damn it. I wasn't really checking him out, was I? I slowly arose, thinking of an explanation to give."I…I…""Do you know what the heck you've done?" He grumbled. Reaching the table in between two couches, he sent it to an edge with his foot, causing me to stumble backward and land on the floor again. He took a step forward, shoot
Tyler POVI watched as a maid took care of the broken vase on the floor. My eyes rolled to each and every fraction of it, while my thoughts were a conflict between Theda, and to the person which this vase was linked to. Selena.I caught a view of a large fragment of it, having a stain of blood on it, and I grabbed it carefully."Alpha, it's a part of the vase," she said. I gave her a dismissive look, which meant I knew what I was doing, and I placed the fragment in a jar, placing it next to the picture of Selena, staring closely at it. It made memories ring in me, and I tried to hide my emotions. I turned around to see the maid done with cleaning the mess. Blake walked in hastily to the office, and my eyes rolled at him, scanning his body language and heavy expressions. Was he here with his usual tantrums again?"Are you all right?" He asked me when he stopped in front of me."Is she okay?""Who…?""Her. Theda, I mean," I retorted, ignoring his first question. For now, it seemed l
Theda POV"Theda, are you awake?" The soft tenor voice of the doctor asked, making me tighten the muscles around my eyes."Guess you're fast asleep then," I heard him mumble as he left the room.I let out a gentle sigh as I slowly opened my eyes. The main door of the room was forcefully pushed open and the two girls who had left appeared at the door.My eyes meet their unpleasant gaze and I shut them immediately, cringing as they both giggled sarcastically."Hey new slave, are you pretending to be asleep?" One said as they walked up to me."Poor miserable thing. Let me guess, she thinks the best solution out of her unavoidable circumstance is to pretend to be asleep.""Ugh, that's petty. You better wake up, silly blonde."Fuck them. They clearly knew I was pretending but I wasn't thinking of putting an end to my act. Not so soon.I'm sure they'll let me be like the doctor did."Hm, silly blonde? That suits her better than her name."They giggled again, making the pit of my stomach twi
Tyler POV I went through the files on my table, noticing that the entire place seemed odd. Tyson was calling out to me, wanting me to notice what was going on, and it seemed so strange why I would be concerned about it. Nothing was wrong here.I raised my head, only to see the Omega sleeping, and I swallowed hard. She had fallen asleep already, and I didn't even realize it. Just looking at her made Tyson excited. He wanted to meet her, jump out of me and howl at her because he thought that she was Selena. Little did my poor wolf know that this was an Omega and not my mate. I stood up silently, trying not to make any noise as I did so. Walking straight up to her, I watched as she slept deeply, with her arm resting on one armrest, and some strands of hair scattered all over her face. I didn't want to disturb her, or make her hear my sounds, and grabbing a chair to look at her closely would do that. Maybe I was not acting on my own terms. Tyson was the wicked one here. I didn't k
Theda POV My heart swelled with affection as my son beckoned for me, and without hesitation, I ran up to Tyler, enveloping him in a tight embrace. Tears welled up in my eyes, mingling with the overwhelming emotions that surged through me. "I am sorry, Theda. I am sorry," Tyler whispered, his voice filled with remorse and sincerity. "I won't ever do that again. I will never doubt you. Never." I pulled back slightly from the hug, looking into his eyes, my heart touched by his words. With a gentle smile, I reassured him, "It is fine, Alpha Tyler." Turning to face Alpha Norton, I bowed respectfully, gratitude shining in my eyes. "Thank you, Alpha Norton. I won't forget what you've done for me today. Your kindness and understanding mean a great deal." Alpha Norton returned my smile, though I could see the flicker of sadness in his eyes. He fought back his tears, his pride evident in his composed demeanor. "You can go, Theda," he said, waving his hand in a bittersweet farewell. He th
Tyler POV Another week had gone by, and I couldn't shake off the persistent thoughts of venturing to the Wildwood pack to retrieve Theda. In the meantime, Jasmine had made herself at home in the packhouse, living with Blake, and their blossoming relationship was evident to all. I genuinely felt joy for them, seeing their happiness. However, the longing in my heart became unbearable, and I reached a breaking point. Determined to confront my feelings head-on, I decided to embark on a journey to the Wildwood pack alone. Ignoring the potential consequences, I made my way to the territory, driven by an unyielding desire to see Theda once more and take her with me this time. As I arrived at the Wildwood pack, tensions rose. The pack guards, sensing my intrusion, moved to confront me, their aggression apparent. A fight seemed imminent, tensions escalating between me and the guards who sought to remove me forcefully. Yet, just as the situation reached its boiling point, a commanding
Blake POV After I left the office, I stepped out of the packhouse and happened to spot Jasmine walking by. A warm smile formed on my lips as I called out to her."Hey, Jasmine." She stopped in her tracks, turning to face me with a smile that mirrored my own. As I approached her, our eyes met, sparking a sense of familiarity and comfort."Beta Blake, greetings," Jasmine replied, offering a courteous bow. Her eyes shimmered with a glint of joy, clearly delighted by the unexpected encounter. My curiosity got the better of me as I inquired about her plans. "Hm, where are you off to?"She shrugged lightly, a playful expression adorning her features. "Just walking around since I'm permitted to do so for a little while today." A mischievous grin spread across my face as I made a spontaneous decision. "I'll keep you company." She chuckled, seemingly taken aback by my offer. Her surprise quickly transformed into a peal of infectious laughter. "What about work?""I'm free for now, Jassy,
Tyler POV I felt a deep sense of uncertainty gripping my heart ever since the day I met Theda and we shared that fateful kiss. The moment our lips touched, a whirlwind of emotions had surged through me, and I had been unable to shake off the lingering effects since then. After that reoccurring life-altering encounter, I had mustered the courage to ask Theda to come back with me, to be a part of my life and my pack again. However, much to my dismay, Theda had chosen to leave without giving me a definitive answer, leaving me in a state of constant unease. Days turned into weeks, and uncertainty continued to gnaw at my soul. I couldn't help but wonder if Theda had any intentions of returning or if she had simply vanished from my life forever. The absence of closure had left me feeling adrift, my thoughts consumed by the memory of that shared kiss and the bond I believed still existed between us.One day, Theda's mother, seeking to understand her daughter's whereabouts, visited the
Theda POV Staring at Norton's angry mother, I mustered the strength to speak, my voice filled with remorse. "Alpha Norton, I am so sorry," I managed to utter, my words weighed down by the heaviness of the situation. Alpha Norton, still facing away from me, nodded silently. His gesture conveyed a mix of understanding and resignation as if he had anticipated this outcome. "Theda, it's alright." I could sense the pain and disappointment radiating from him, and it tore at my heart. Meanwhile, Aunt Jael sneered, her expression filled with disdain as she continued to stare at me. The contemptuous gaze intensified the already overwhelming emotions within me, and I felt a desperate need to escape the suffocating atmosphere. Without another word, I turned and rushed out of the office, seeking solace and refuge. As I entered my room, my vision blurred by my tears, I stumbled near my bed. Collapsing onto the soft surface, I began to cry bitterly, my sobs echoing through the room. The
Norton POV Standing by the entrance gate, my heart sank as I witnessed Theda and Tyler locked in a passionate kiss. I had noticed Theda leaving the packhouse in a hurry earlier, and now, seeing her in the arms of another, my worst fears seemed to be confirmed. The sight struck me with a mix of shock and disappointment, and I felt a heavy weight settle in my chest. Silently, I retreated, my footsteps heavy and my mind clouded with a whirlwind of emotions. Doubts that had lingered in the back of my mind were now crystal clear, and my fears about Theda's feelings for Tyler seemed validated. I returned to my room, feeling dejected and betrayed, struggling to make sense of it all. In the following days, Theda seemed to avoid me, her presence scarce and her interactions minimal. She had only served me a meal the following day after that day. I couldn't help but feel the palpable tension between us, our once budding connection now strained. The distance between us only deepened my sen
Theda POV My conscience weighed heavily on me as I replayed the events of the day in my mind. I had spent the entire day feeling guilty for deceiving Alpha Norton about my true feelings for Alpha Tyler. After dinner, as I prepared to retire to my bed, I was interrupted by Aunt Jael, who approached her with a serious expression on her face. Caught off guard, I looked at her and managed to ask politely, "Aunt Jael, do you want anything?" Her gaze shifted briefly towards Liam who lay peacefully asleep on the bed. Wordlessly, she signaled for me to follow her outside. My heart raced as I complied, stepping out into the hallway and closing the door behind me. The dimly lit space added to my growing anxiety. Standing before the railings, Aunt Jael seemed composed, but I could sense an undercurrent of concern. Tentatively, I approached her, my unease palpable. I couldn't help but wonder what she wanted to talk about, especially with such a serious expression on her face. She finally
Norton POV I have been feeling a deep sense of insecurity gnawing at me ever since Theda had postponed our wedding. I love her with all my heart and I couldn't bear the thought of doubting her or questioning her love for me. However, her actions had been fueling my doubts and making me question our relationship. Unable to bear the weight of uncertainty any longer, I decided to have a candid conversation with Theda. I needed to understand why she had chosen to postpone our wedding for the second time, hoping that her answers would put my doubts to rest. I called her to my private chamber, a place where we often shared intimate moments and heartfelt discussions. As she entered the room, my heart raced. I took a deep breath, summoning the courage to confront my fears. I looked into her eyes, searching for reassurance, and began to ask her the questions that plagued my mind."Theda," I said, his voice trembling slightly, "I need to understand why you postponed our wedding. It's bee
Theda POV I walked up to Alpha Norton, my gaze fixed on my mother standing before me. The sight of my mother after five long years filled me with a mixture of emotions—joy, nostalgia, and a tinge of apprehension. I hadn't expected to see my mother again, and now that she stood before me, it felt like a surreal moment."Mother?" My voice trembled with a mix of uncertainty and longing, my eyes searching for answers."Theda, my child," her voice sounded as soothing as ever, reaching deep into my heart. Our bond had survived the test of time, and our connection remained strong. I couldn't help but be drawn to my mother, and I stepped forward, embracing her in a long-awaited hug. At that moment, the world around them seemed to fade away, leaving only the warmth and familiarity of our shared love. But as my eyes shifted to Alpha Tyler, who stood nearby with a smile on his face, a sense of unease crept over me. I couldn't shake the feeling that he had orchestrated this reunion, using
