Chapter 98.

Author's POV.

Immediately Mendy realized that Liam had stopped coming close to her house and every time she tried to call him she was met with one resistance or the other that made her believe that he was only just avoiding her presence and was giving her lots of excuses just to get out.

Feeling a little bit threatened by the situation she decided to call at the house.

Imagine her shock when she rang the bell, and watched the little children rush towards the door trying to open it.

The first time they would have clung to her skirts in excitement but now they were only staring at her indifferently like she was disturbing their peace.

She didn't want to believe that she had made a huge mistake coming over here because now it was beginning to seem like that.

"How are you doing Aria?"

"I'm fine." Aria responded in a monotonous voice that had even a little bit worried for herself. It didn't look like she was happy to see her which was quite unusual.

The ability for me to always figure out the best way to handle situations or something that came easily to me and I didn't want to take that for granted. Liam knocked on my door, with a small smile on his face which I didn't think was genuine but he was always doing everything just to make sure that everyone was satisfied. Alpha Brandon had refused to leave and if I was going to be sincere with myself I was beginning to get tired of his presence not because of anything but because he was acting too pompous. "I want you to organize a dinner that is going to act as alpha Brandon send forth. I don't want to see him around again. He is already getting on my last name and quite honestly I think everyone feels that way. Lia of all people had to complain." Liam said, shoving his hands into his pockets while staring at me. You treated this woman with so much disgrace that you should be ashamed of yourself whenever it comes up yet you try to pass off the blame as if I am the one with the issue." Alpha Brandon kept on growling in such a way that I was a little bit embarrassed for myself. The fact that I had to be hearing such nonsense was enough to put me up completely but at the same time I maintained decorum pretending like everything was fine even though it wasn't."I don't want you to fight on my accord." I said to him, "I am not fighting on any accord, I am fighting for my right and no one is going to make me look like a fool simply because I'm doing what is right. I could not imagine the horror “Don't even try to come up with excuses because now this is getting old and I'm already getting fed up with all the excuses I have to make for you every damn time. If you knew that you would not be able to be faithful to me, why the hell did you choose to marry me?”I recovered almost immediately from the shock because I figured out that he thought he was on to something correct but I needed to set the record straight. “Firstly I don't know who gave you such an impression and secondly whoever did that was just trying to breed contempt. That is all I can see concerning a video that you and I know is not real. Why would I want to cheat with somebody that is under your roof?” I asked incredulously. This has to be a prank and honestly I was a little bit worried that somebody was trying to play a f

Heading towards the point where she could be could end up becoming a huge problem but at the same time, I wanted nothing more than to confront the woman who had made my life a living hell. This wasn't something that I wanted to joke about but at the same time I wanted to be careful so that I didn't make a huge mistake and a mess of the situation for it was going to bounce back on me and then it wouldn't be palatable. I kept my eyes focused on the prize. Lia fumed beside me, with eyes focused ahead as she read various emphasis on what she was going to do by the time she laid her hands on this woman. "Can we just be calm for a minute?" "No I cannot be calm especially when someone is trying to take advantage of you. Mendy needs to be confronted and that must be done immediately. I don't care whether or not she understands the gravity of what she's doing because it's all a way of escaping what should be a total punishment to her." "Yeah, of course, all I'm

I didn't think I had the ability to overlook and make sure that she encounters pain when I could be of help. It was something that I would never be a part of. Lia dragged me backwards but I yanked my hands out of her grip immediately. Mendy might be a menace, but didn't mean that I wanted her dead. I wanted to have a friendly discussion in my heart so that we could come to a mutual understanding as to why she had been nothing but a pest in my life. I knew that it was not going to be easy for me to do all of this but I wanted to try nonetheless. "Scott! You are not a murderer, let's take her to the pack clinic immediately!" I called and he jumped out of his skin. He looked at her unconscious body in shock that he had degenerated to being a monster. Scott wasn't somebody who was going to do somethi

It wasn't because I didn't want to be found instead I just felt like that will be the best way to know who exactly was out for us The voice came closer while I shut her door, also walking stealthy towards it. "Mehndi has been here for a long time and it is time for us to collect our deals. She can't keep playing us like a fiddle. If no one wants to discuss this then I am ready. How long is she going to take us for a ride?" I cocked my head sideways to understand what these people were about. It was evident that they were mad at something. I just didn't know what exactly and most importantly I was feeling a little bit weird, if there was a reason I needed to be fast at ensuring that absolutely no one had their hands on us. She has been stressed for so long and I think she deserves to be in a safe space where she doesn't have to look over her shoulders." The doctor called from beside her bed. It was a lot more stressful than I thought it was going to be because Mendy looked like she was about to jump out of her skin, thrashing violently. The amount of problems that these frequent attacks were causing to my mental health was getting out of hand. "So, I have something in mind, I overheard your conversation about us almost being attacked and I felt like I could weigh in.""What do you possibly have to say? That I also ask alpha Brandon to stay because I cannot be capable of providing security to my pack? Or what?" "I would never insinuate that you have no control over your people. I wanted us to seal a deal that has nothing to do with that man and you know this. I want you to step back from having anything to do with my sister and then you can retain your power over these people.""They are not blind not to see what you have done so far and you expect them to still be happy with you, definitely not to rebel when you have done something so appalling. You are not supposed to be found in any relationship with Mendy."Deep down I knew that I was just testing out the waters and hoping that he didn't bite my head off after everythin

Liam's POV.I sat at the table, lifting several pages of these distant jobs that should have been delivered simply when I had the chance and then went on to blow it by Brandon's intervention. I would never be allowed to get the deals sealer anymore because people miraculously danced to his tune no matter what. As much as I would have loved to challenge this, at the same time, I had a lot of time to reflect on what was more important to me. I had the opportunity to deal with it but I refused because that was meant to bring up a war and right now we were not in that state.I wanted to solidify my presence but the only way to do that was to make sure that there was nothing that would link me with Mendy just yet but she didn't want to leave. My eyes roamed over the files in front of me and I realized that I had made a huge mistake in the past by not bringing the words to limelight before going ahead to deal with it now I was stuck, and couldn't do a thing about it. I don't think that we need to roam around just yet, Mendy isn't going to allow us to relax, she's going to stress us the hell out.""Oh, right? We shouldn't forget to turn it in. I intended to press my foot on her neck, making her feel the exact hurt that I did when she took my man away from me. I made him feel useless. "You can't seriously ask him to dump me and pick you up. You can see that I'm barely coherent and I need all the support I can get right now. I knew you were heartless but didn't know it was as bad as this." Mendy managed to speak. She was yet to fully recover but I was going to start now. I looked at the person who was in charge of the steering instead of the one who was just very concerned with herself. "What's it going to be Liam? I already have Alpha Brandon's number on the speed dial and I can always come here to revoke the deal. I'm sure it's not a big deal to you right? I mean what is the assurance that you were going to get it anyway without him." I shook my head and pretended to pick my nails only making Mendy grow even more

Chapter 108Chloe's POV. "Where is my sister?" I demanded immediately I walked into the pack clinic. She wasn't going to keep on doing this when I had sufficient evidence against her. It was her time to finally come clean and I was going to push for it until she realized that there was no going back. I had stomach a lot of shenanigans from her and hearing it from somebody who had absolutely no idea of everything that I went through was the deal breaker for me. The nurses looked around a little bit worried, making me also panic. Their reactions were not normal. I didn't expect that they would be breaking at me as though I asked for their heads."I asked a bloody question: why is everyone taking so long before they give me an answer?" The woman took some time before finally pointing in the direction where she had been before. "I think I should inform you that the alpha took her away." I skidded to a halt, watching them carefully trying to pick up the pieces of their lies. They had

Chapter 107.Author's POV.The intruder moved carefully towards the room where he had heard a sound. somebody was here and was pretending like they weren't. It was a little bit challenging because both of them were on different sizes of the house trying to figure out the best way to attack the other. Chloe was more in tune with her defensive mode, picking up a bat that she found behind the door and raising it in the air, hoping to crash it on whoever was concerned. It wasn't also news that she was trying as much as possible not to do something that would lead into a problem but at the end of the day ended up failing short. They opened the door at the same time and she screamed when she saw the person. It was James, one of the men who worked in the stables. She would never have imagined that he was even remotely close to her sister. James skidded to a halt, dropping the wooden stick he had picked up. "Oh I'm so sorry.""James, you were working with Mendy all this while?" His ey
