Chloe’s pov.

I woke up with a jolt, my heart pounding in my chest like a drum. The room was pitch black, and I could feel the rough texture of the ropes digging into my skin. It was as if they had tied me down with the strength of a thousand knots. Panic surged through my veins as I realized the gravity of my situation. I had been kidnapped.

My mind raced, desperately trying to make sense of what had happened. How did I end up in this nightmare? I strained my ears, hoping to catch any sound that could give me a clue about my captors or my location. But all I could hear was the sound of my own labored breaths and the pounding of my heart, echoing in the silence.

The cloth that covered my head felt suffocating, like a shroud of darkness that enveloped me. It made it hard to breathe, hard to think.
