Chloe's POV

Lying flat in my room, my gaze fixed on the ceiling, I had a terrible dream about my grandmother passing away. I know dreams can be silly, and I hope this one was just as foolish.

I long to see my grandmother again, to witness her bright smile and wrinkled face, to hear her soothing voice that brings comfort when I'm feeling down. I want to see the joy on her face when she sees me again. I don't want to lose her now, she means the world to me.

The darkness has engulfed the sky, and the moon has embraced it. The stars twinkle, forming a beautiful pattern like a red rose on a white bed. I happily breathe in the breeze coming through the window.

I rise to my feet and walk towards the window, using my right hand to push the curtains aside, revealing a breathtaking night view. The city's houses illuminate the darkness with their unique colors, and the sounds of cars, footsteps, and bicycles create a harmonious rhythm. The wind tousles my hair, and I close my eyes, letting the e

Chloe’s POV. Ryan walked right through the midst of the maids, and they all made way for him to come stand in front of me. He announced loudly that Alpha Jax requested me to sit beside him. I was shocked, my eyes widening as I looked at him. He had a gentle smile on his face. The maids started murmuring amongst themselves, but I didn't really care. Ryan moved to the side, giving me the chance to walk in front of him. I couldn't help but feel a rush of happiness and excitement. It felt like a dream come true.I took quick steps, walking towards where Alpha Jax was sitting. My eyes never left his side, and both Our eyes were locked on each other. It was like a fairytale moment, and I couldn't believe that a day like this could turn into something so amazing. I had always wondered how I would stand before him, and now I was walking towards him like a princess. All the eyes in the retribution room were on me. I knew that some of them might be irritated, given my past experiences in this

Chloe’s POV. My heart thumped a hundred miles. How could you steal something and still have the audacity to look for it? It sounds absurd, but I don't want to be the type to judge without listening.I watched as Miss Ann crawled to the front, leaving only an inch between her and Jax. Her eyeball rolled to the side, as if she was searching for what to say. Hot tears streamed down her face as she cleared her throat. My ears formed a perfect silence, and my heart aligned with the stillness in the room, eager to hear what Miss Ann had to say."The jade... the jade was gifted to me by your late wife," she spoke, but I found it hard to believe her words.Whoever would believes her word? the only person who could testify to it is Jax's late wife, who is no longer here.I shifted my gaze to Alpha Jax. He had a mix of emotions swelling on his face, as if contemplating whether to believe her or take the other route."You're not ready to open up to us, right? Tell me, how the hell am I supposed

Liam’s POV. The journey was incredibly tiring. After searching half of the city, we finally decided to head to a hotel on the street as night approached. The hotel wasn't as big as the ones we've been staying at, but it was still pretty spacious compared to some others.I led my crew into the hotel and we went straight to the attendant to book our rooms. We each got our own room and settled in for the night. It's frustrating and confusing that we still haven't found Chloe. We've searched almost everywhere in the city, but she's nowhere to be found.I know I don't have the exact location she's in, but since she left MayHill with nothing, she shouldn't have gone too far from home. Without much with her, she's likely relying on the kindness of others. My mind is restless, and I won't be able to relax until I see her.As I made my way to the room I booked, I heard a noise coming from another room. It's strange that the hotel manager hasn't addressed it yet. If the noise continues, it's g

Liam’s POV. "I'm here to take her with me," I declared, watching the shock on everyone's faces.Looking around, I noticed the intense gazes on me, especially from my crew, whose mouths were wide open. It's unusual for me to get involved in matters that don't concern me, but this time, I felt compelled to act.As I gazed at the girl, a stranger to me, tears streaming down her face, a pang of guilt hit me. I couldn't shake the feeling of regret for sending her away yesterday, even after her desperate pleas for help.Swiftly, I pulled her close to stand by my side, signaling to my crew to keep their distance. Causing a scene here could attract unwanted attention from the police, and that's the last thing I want.“What are you doing?” the guy who had taken the girl away the night before demanded, his face showing a mix of anger and concern."I said I'm taking her with me, do I need to repeat myself for you to understand a simple sentence?" I retorted with a smirk, noticing murmurs starti

Chloe’s POV. The moon embraced my eyes, and as I swiftly opened them, I gazed at the already white sky, stretching my body lazily. Flickering my eyes repeatedly. I know I slept late, and that's why I woke up late. I wonder why I slept late, and that's when my mind drifts back to the feverish kiss Alpha Jax shared with me and I quickly sat on the bed. I close my mouth, feeling my cheeks redden as I remember the passionate kiss. The moment our hot breath collided forming a room for spectacles The way his tongue did justice to my mouth, how his soft hand squeezed my ass gently using it to generate a moan from me, the gentle moan coming out from his mouth when I reciprocated the kiss.I must say, this was my first kiss, and I enjoyed it. I wish for more of it. If not for Ryan, who had cleared his throat, distracting us yesterday, maybe it would've led to something even steamier.I slap my head at the thought of making something steamy. I should've been lucky Ryan intervened. If Alpha J

Chloe’s POV. I stood like a statue while trying to figure out what to do. Yeah, we kissed yesterday, so why am I making a simple hug such a big deal?I lifted my hand, ready to return the hug, but then he let go, and my hands fell back.My gaze could only scan the floor, my cheeks kind of red and shy.I felt his finger raise my head up, and our eyes met. He stared at me intensely, as if he was trying to devour me.He used his left hand to support my waist, pulling me closer as we exchanged breath through our noses before leaving me and walking to the stool."I'm taking you somewhere," he said, grabbing his car key from the stool and starting to lead me out.I wondered where he was taking me. I just hoped it would be somewhere I'd appreciate, not the other way around. He held my hand as we walked out, with different eyes on us, but he didn't care, and neither did I. I knew nobody would dare make a sound at that moment. We went to the parking lot, and I stood staring in awe. I never ex

Chloe’s POV I wrapped my hands around his chest, resting my face against him. I knew he would be wondering what was going on, but I preferred this to letting Liam see me.He walked beside us, his footsteps halting, making my body shake nervously as I held Jax even tighter."Did he see me?" my mind raced, sweat dripping from my body. “Please go, please” hot sweat formed out of my body as I pleaded inwardly. I noticed Alpha Jax's hand trying to lift my face to meet his gaze, but my grip tightened, I won't let him go until Liam evict the scene, I'm not ready to be catch. I heard Liam leave and waited for several minutes before lifting my head from Jax's chest and looking into his eyes."What's gotten into you?" he asked, holding my arms. I shook my head slowly."Nothing, I'm fine. Please let go, I don't want to be here anymore," I said, walking towards where we had parked the car. Jax followed me."I thought you were getting something for someone. What's wrong with leaving suddenly? W

Chloe’s POV. He released my breast and ended the kiss, causing me to open my eyes gently. Our gazes met, and he asked, “Should I stop?” I hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to respond. Despite enjoying the moment, I didn't want to feel powerless. “If you want me to stop, I will,” he offered. But I didn't want him to stop. This was my first time experiencing such a passionate moment, and I was glad it was with Ajax. I didn't want it to end.Without saying a word, I closed my eyes tightly, mustering my courage, and our lips met once more. I kissed his lower lip deeply, savoring the moment. His hand gripped my waist, and I instinctively wrapped my legs around him. When I opened my eyes, he was already standing, carrying me effortlessly with my arms around his neck.He guided us closer to the bed, gently lowering me onto it. My legs remained wrapped around him, and our lips met again, this time with even more intensity, heat, and allure than before. As he undressed, finding his nipple

Chapter 124. Chloe's POV. "So, you mean this is the antidote to the potion my sister used on him? How did you even know that something like this existed?" I inquired from her, inspecting the bottle from back to front. Sophia let out a soft chuckle, "of course I know because I have a background in medicine. I wouldn't really call it that because not everyone who tries their hands at many things, has an idea of what this might be, but whatever the case may be, I guess we don't have to worry our heads about anything.""Yeah, right. So what am I supposed to do with it?" I asked, trying to sniff it to see if I would understand a thing happening here, but it didn't work."You are supposed to just pour in a drop in his tea or coffee so that it works slowly. If you do this consecutively for fourteen days, this might help you to get rid of whatever has settled down in it to his subconscious." She explained to me. Sophia had been nothing short of a blessing to me because immediately I broug

Chapter 123.Author's POV. Sophia bent behind the trees as she waited for Mendy, who had delayed coming out. Glancing at her watch, she began to hiss. How long would it take for mendy to cross over from her house to this arena? Was she hoping that she got caught by Chloe? Mendy arrived with the rustling of bushes as her boots scrunched through them. “I'm sorry for the delay. I needed to sort out a few things so that I didn't get caught. I hope that no one saw you when you were leaving.” “Can we abandon that and move to the reason we are here? I have been able to get her to trust me, what is the next step?” Sophia caught Mendy off. “You shouldn't speak to me in that manner just because you are doing me a favor. In case you have forgotten, you should be thankful that I gave you this opportunity.” “As if I am doing this for you.” Sophia thought inside of her but wouldn't dare utter those words so that she didn't sound opportunistic and make Mendy suspicious. “I apologize, I am on

Chapter 122. Chloe's POV. Confused as hell but didn't want to sound or look like I wasn't polite, I looked away watching the person who was talking staring at me as I tried to figure out what exactly she was saying. "Do I know you?" I inquired, raising my eyebrows a little higher than necessary. "I don't think that you do but I do know you. You are Luna Chloe. One of the best people that we have ever had to grace our arena. I'm sure that a lot of people would regret ever coming against you. You are one of the sweetest people that I know."I recoiled, "okay, back up for a second." She chuckled softly before even advancing towards me, making me a little worried and wondering why this person was so bold to come closer when I had practically told them to stay away. I knew that some people were bold and would not desist unless there was a great reason for that. I had more than not expectations when it came to mingling with people "It would be nice if you introduce yourself after sa

Chapter 121Chloe's POV. "I think that teacher Mendy is one of the best assets to this school. She has been nothing but great to the children, especially how they behave and address people nowadays." One of the parents said. I laughed at their ignorance of the truth. How would anyone in their right senses ever think that my sister was the best thing to happen to their kids? "Haven't you listened to the way your children speak? Do you think that that is the right way things should be done? If you think so, then I would have to question everything that you represent and I'm not even joking about that." I said with so much anger. "That is the basic truth. My daughter had not picked up when she started until Miss Mendy took her in and then made her life beautiful. I know that there might be some issues between both of you but it doesn't change the fact that she is one of the best teachers over here." Another parent spoke. "She has records of people who come to give her accolades. Su

Chapter 120. Chloe's POV. Heading back home was a delight but at the same time also a problem because all I could think of in that moment was how I would be able to handle the situation perfectly without looking helter skelter or being in a dilemma Deciding to go and check up on my kids turned out to be a disheartening move, as I suddenly began to think of everything that had gone wrong. My kids deserve the best but I had not given this to them, not because I didn't want to but because I just didn't have the capacity to do so. Firstly, I encountered one of the teachers at the gate who was looking at me as though I was here on a wicked mission, this was probably the effect of my sister's methods on making everyone see me as the bad guy. "I want to see mendy." I told her, watching her bow immediately and rush off I didn't waste time going after her, passing by mendy's class I heard her teaching the kids on how to be disrespectful even if it was not as instructive as sh

Chapter 119. Chloe's POV. "What happens if I do not have his belongings with me?" I asked, holding my breath, in case things didn't go the way I expected it to."You might have to find it at all cost because then there is a huge problem than we might want to admit. I don't think that there is anything right now, but even at that we can find a way around it. I've got some new ideas." Bryan answered instead of the lady, making me wonder why he was so particular about me finding Liam's things. I wasn't at ease with the new development and would rather just relax and watch things play out naturally, but I also wasn't going to negate the fact that he might be speaking the truth. Helping me in fact was one of the greatest things anyone could do for me and I appreciated his efforts but, I was a little bit skeptical. "I don't want us to do anything that could potentially harm Liam in the future. I just want an antidote to be found in the potion and nothing more." I reiterated, so that th

Chapter 118.Chloe's POV. "Where are you?" Bryan spoke into the earphones I had plugged in. I bent in the bushes, avoiding contact with the patrol guards. It wasn't news that they would not stop until they were able to find out who was out of the house. Liam and I had not crossed paths since the last time we spoke despite living in the same house. Immediately I made peace with myself that he was under an influence. I no longer saw his offenses. Instead I saw him as a man who needed to be careful and that his ex was going to get him. Anyone else could be mad at the recent turn out of events but not me, I knew what I needed to do and was ready to do it nonetheless."I don't want anyone knowing that I'm meeting up with you that's why I'm hiding but as soon as I am able to push them away, trust me when I say that I would come out." I said with a small smile. I knew that I had in some way it made him a little bit happy but I needed to continue fervently. If I allowed this opportunity

Chapter 117.Chloe's POV. Staying for my people was definitely easier said than done because why did I feel like I was missing out on a lot of information when Brian told me to stay clear. To some people, it might mean the world to them but to me, it only made me feel a little bit anxious, and also saddled with responsibility of looking over my shoulders, hoping that everything was going on right. If I had the opportunity, I wouldn't have ever dealt with them. I decided to also take laws into my hands. I needed to find out what my sister was so particular about that made her ignore the brutal signs and go for something that didn't even make any sense whatsoever. I also hated the fact that she could get away with it. Lucy's call came in almost immediately as though she had been monitoring what I was thinking of. "I know that you must probably be thinking of that your god-forsaken sister, you don't need to worry about her instead we should worry about other things." She urged me. A

The message came just as I am about to head to bed. A simple text with barely any words, and a simple location, that immediately disappears the moment I finished looking at it. There’s no sender, the number is hidden and unknown written in the usual robotic sans of my phone. There is no way I am supposed to find out who sent the text but somehow it just clicks. Everything from the way it was sent, to the style of the writing screams that the sender whoever it maybe didn't want to be found, or have anyone trace them. Although I know better than to guess just who they are, I couldn't help but know that this was Byrans doing. After everything he was always on alert and would never plays games, still looking at my phone with the image long gone and a simple text indicating that I have already opened the message, I contemplated whether to
