Chapter 57.

Chloe's POV.

This was utterly preposterous because I couldn't even wrap my head around the fact that my daughter would turn against me so much and make me feel like a total failure!…

"Who told you that trash?" I demanded from her. I wasn't going to allow her to get away with insulting me while I looked at her, hoping that she came to the knowledge of what was right. She had been influenced by someone, but it was my duty to find out who exactly.

"That is not something you should be saying to your mother, especially when I have never done anything to warrant such replies and attitude for me, all of you!" I fired back at her.

Her gaze rested on me but she didn't look remorseful.

"Mommy I want to sleep for a while. We will be going over to her house later tonight so that she can prepare some more delicious meals like she promised for us." Aria said, walking away from me.

If anyone had told me that things would degenerate to this point, I would have loved them to sc

Chapter 58. Chloe's POV "Hello, Lia." "You sound awful," Lia spoke. Honesty wasn't a scarce commodity with her. "What's a great way of telling your friend that you have seen for a long time that you miss her," I responded sarcastically hoping that she kept her opinion still herself because they were not necessary at this point. "Yeah, right... I wanted to come knock some senses into you because you sound like you've been losing it for a while now." She whispered, inching towards me with a smile on her face. "I knew you, and I know that you have not been yourself for a very long time. It is my duty to come here and find out how I can be of help to you." I was a bit embarrassed but thankful that I had someone coming to check up on me, and I smiled. "I'm pretty sure that someone must have tipped you off." "Yeah, I'd be lying if I said someone didn't but that doesn't still change the fact that I might just have to be here to help you out with the situation." She was say

Chapter 59. Author's POV. Mendy looked ahead, relishing the fact that Liam was already on his way to her place. She could almost feel the taste of bitterness on my sister's lips as she bade the kids goodbye. Having no choice but to dance to her tune she watched happily. This was everything and more of what she wanted in her entire life and nothing was going to stop her from achieving everything that she should. Things were getting out of hand and it was only imperative that she found a means of nipping it in the bud. "Hi, how are you guys doing today?" She asked the kids as soon as they entered the class. Their mother had no right to come and confront her and that was her only saving grace. "Good morning, Miss Mendy, we missed you last night. My mom didn't allow us to come, she asked that we stay with her even though our dad didn't like it." Mendy heaved a sigh of relief, thinking about how great it would be if she was their mother. Obviously she was going to kick

He should be able to find answers for yours because that's the only way I would be free to do what I have in mind." Lia said, Without further ado, I headed to his office and realized that he was a little bit busier than I thought so I waited a bit."Hey! Is anything the matter?" He asked, a bit anxious just to find out why I had decided to call on him. 'I need to tell you something very important and I hope that we should be able to rub minds together. I have pondered on this for so long and still have not come up with an answer that is suitable." I started. His eyes widened slightly, looking at me for a minute. "May I know the reason for this discussion?" He asked while scanning the environment, his heart pumping visibly underneath his tight shirt. I had a lot of reservations when it came to opening up to people but I knew he was someone that I could trust and wou

Chapter 61 Chloe's POV. Two days later, My knuckles hovered above my father's study as I waited for a minute before taking the initiative to walk in at his silence. My dad sat on the chair in front of me watching carefully, as I progressed towards where he was sitting and also looking carefully. "You are unhappy. I can feel it. Why is that?" I knew that if I opened my mouth to start speaking immediately I would burst into tears, uncontrollable ones at that. My eyes welled up with tears but I realized that for me to continue this way it was going to make me look even more weak. "I wanted to report certain things to you. I need you to call Mendy. She has been getting on my nerves for so long now and I would appreciate it if you called her to order. She isn't a lost cause yet until we agree that she is not worth it." I said, hoping that she had not come here to report before I did and render my testimony invalid. Gazing at me intently, my father finally spoke, "if she ha

Chapter 62. Chloe's POV. My heart pounded in my ribcage, trying to find out if my child was fine. Why hadn't Lia called me if there was an issue? She was the only person that I trusted too much to call me about what was happening. As soon as I headed into the room, I didn't understand what was going on at first but decided to take a deep breath just to see what was happening. I pushed the door open and so Aria hooked up with different drips running through her veins, looking pale. My heart skipped a bit as I rushed her to her side. Ignoring Liam, who was sitting beside her and looking at me as though I was the devil spawn, I looked at her and back at him. "What happened to her?" "You went away for so long and appeared out of nowhere to ask what happened to her. How interesting!" I shut my eyes in shock. This was absolutely not what I was looking for. I needed something very important, such as a damn reason why this was happening. "Apparently I think that you didn't he

Chapter 63. Chloe's POV I was on my way to my father's room when I stopped halfway, taking a giant sneeze; I found out that the youngest for them wasn't something even important at all. Instead, it was only her next move. Evil when she's poked against, she's poked against close powerful. I could see the way things began to drum in a sarcastic manner. I believed that everything was going to work out for good, but at the same time, I needed to be as careful as I should. I stopped in front of his room and contemplated how my next statement was going to affect him. I needed new people to understand the mood of the population and abide by it, not those who are ready to change me at every cost. Without him clamoring to have some sort of land or power to himself it's made everyone appear in their natural state just to make it very relatable. "I have always had problems with you because of how decided to represent everything that you are and own." I heard someone's voice ringing

Chapter 64. Chloe's POV.Awaiting the autopsy was not even a great idea. All that Chloe thought about was to make her father get the justice he deserved. The insane amount of mishaps that had come into her life the past few days was not to be reckoned with, and she felt like there had to be a means of tackling this without feeling weak or weary from any angle. Her kids didn't even think that their actions had a long-lasting impact. She picked up my phone to call Scott, "what is happening." Liam was less concerned with what was happening, so she needed to get my answers myself. "I don't want you to think so much about everything that has been going on because it's not going to help either of us, but there is only one way that we can achieve our goals, which is by waiting for the result. Then I would know what to do." Scott said. Chloe didn't understand why he was wasting so much time confronting their sister when it was almost getting clear that her father had been murdered, prob

My eyes were focused on what was more necessary than just waiting for answers My wolf package hard time believe it that it was probably just poison. It's substance was not mentioned and that was a huge red flag on its own. Someone had to explain to me in layman's term why the autopsy results didn't reveal anything favorable. There were a lot of things to think about but one of the things that stood out for me was the way the scientist switched carefully while staring at me. This was an explanation that could not be done without and I was expecting more. Scott glanced at me as though we shared the same sentence and he coughed. "Whatever way I know that we still need to talk." He said. The living room was plunged into greater silence as we waited for the answers to be m

Chapter 124. Chloe's POV. "So, you mean this is the antidote to the potion my sister used on him? How did you even know that something like this existed?" I inquired from her, inspecting the bottle from back to front. Sophia let out a soft chuckle, "of course I know because I have a background in medicine. I wouldn't really call it that because not everyone who tries their hands at many things, has an idea of what this might be, but whatever the case may be, I guess we don't have to worry our heads about anything.""Yeah, right. So what am I supposed to do with it?" I asked, trying to sniff it to see if I would understand a thing happening here, but it didn't work."You are supposed to just pour in a drop in his tea or coffee so that it works slowly. If you do this consecutively for fourteen days, this might help you to get rid of whatever has settled down in it to his subconscious." She explained to me. How long would it take for mendy to cross over from her house to this arena? Was she hoping that she got caught by Chloe? Mendy arrived with the rustling of bushes as her boots scrunched through them. “I'm sorry for the delay. I needed to sort out a few things so that I didn't get caught. I hope that no one saw you when you were leaving.” “Can we abandon that and move to the reason we are here? I have been able to get her to trust me, what is the next step?” Sophia caught Mendy off. “You shouldn't speak to me in that manner just because you are doing me a favor. In case you have forgotten, you should be thankful that I gave you this opportunity.” “As if I am doing this for you.” Sophia thought inside of her but wouldn't dare utter those words so that she didn't sound opportunistic and make Mendy suspicious. “I apologize, I am on

Confused as hell but didn't want to sound or look like I wasn't polite, I looked away watching the person who was talking staring at me as I tried to figure out what exactly she was saying. "Do I know you?" I inquired, raising my eyebrows a little higher than necessary. "I don't think that you do but I do know you. You are Luna Chloe. One of the best people that we have ever had to grace our arena. I'm sure that a lot of people would regret ever coming against you. You are one of the sweetest people that I know."I recoiled, "okay, back up for a second." She chuckled softly before even advancing towards me, making me a little worried and wondering why this person was so bold to come closer when I had practically told them to stay away. I knew that some people were bold and would not desist unless there was a great reason for that. I had more than not expectations when it came to mingling with people "It would be nice if you introduce yourself after sa

Chapter 121Chloe's POV. "I think that teacher Mendy is one of the best assets to this school. She has been nothing but great to the children, especially how they behave and address people nowadays." One of the parents said. I laughed at their ignorance of the truth. How would anyone in their right senses ever think that my sister was the best thing to happen to their kids? "Haven't you listened to the way your children speak? Do you think that that is the right way things should be done? If you think so, then I would have to question everything that you represent and I'm not even joking about that." I said with so much anger. "That is the basic truth. My daughter had not picked up when she started until Miss Mendy took her in and then made her life beautiful. I know that there might be some issues between both of you but it doesn't change the fact that she is one of the best teachers over here." Another parent spoke. "She has records of people who come to give her accolades. Su

Chapter 120. Chloe's POV. Heading back home was a delight but at the same time also a problem because all I could think of in that moment was how I would be able to handle the situation perfectly without looking helter skelter or being in a dilemma Deciding to go and check up on my kids turned out to be a disheartening move, as I suddenly began to think of everything that had gone wrong. My kids deserve the best but I had not given this to them, not because I didn't want to but because I just didn't have the capacity to do so. Firstly, I encountered one of the teachers at the gate who was looking at me as though I was here on a wicked mission, this was probably the effect of my sister's methods on making everyone see me as the bad guy. "I want to see mendy." I told her, watching her bow immediately and rush off I didn't waste time going after her, passing by mendy's class I heard her teaching the kids on how to be disrespectful even if it was not as instructive as sh

Chapter 119. Chloe's POV. "What happens if I do not have his belongings with me?" I asked, holding my breath, in case things didn't go the way I expected it to."You might have to find it at all cost because then there is a huge problem than we might want to admit. I don't think that there is anything right now, but even at that we can find a way around it. I've got some new ideas." Bryan answered instead of the lady, making me wonder why he was so particular about me finding Liam's things. I wasn't at ease with the new development and would rather just relax and watch things play out naturally, but I also wasn't going to negate the fact that he might be speaking the truth. Helping me in fact was one of the greatest things anyone could do for me and I appreciated his efforts but, I was a little bit skeptical. "I don't want us to do anything that could potentially harm Liam in the future. I just want an antidote to be found in the potion and nothing more." I reiterated, so that th

Chapter 118.Chloe's POV. "Where are you?" Bryan spoke into the earphones I had plugged in. I bent in the bushes, avoiding contact with the patrol guards. It wasn't news that they would not stop until they were able to find out who was out of the house. Liam and I had not crossed paths since the last time we spoke despite living in the same house. Immediately I made peace with myself that he was under an influence. I no longer saw his offenses. Instead I saw him as a man who needed to be careful and that his ex was going to get him. Anyone else could be mad at the recent turn out of events but not me, I knew what I needed to do and was ready to do it nonetheless."I don't want anyone knowing that I'm meeting up with you that's why I'm hiding but as soon as I am able to push them away, trust me when I say that I would come out." Chapter 117.Chloe's POV. Staying for my people was definitely easier said than done because why did I feel like I was missing out on a lot of information when Brian told me to stay clear. To some people, it might mean the world to them but to me, it only made me feel a little bit anxious, and also saddled with responsibility of looking over my shoulders, hoping that everything was going on right. If I had the opportunity, I wouldn't have ever dealt with them. I decided to also take laws into my hands. I needed to find out what my sister was so particular about that made her ignore the brutal signs and go for something that didn't even make any sense whatsoever. I also hated the fact that she could get away with it. Lucy's call came in almost immediately as though she had been monitoring what I was thinking of. "I know that you must probably be thinking of that your god-forsaken sister, you don't need to worry about her instead we should worry about other things." She urged me. A
