Chloe’s POV

The house was unusually quiet when Chloe returned. Normally, the laughter and chatter of her children greeted her at the door, but this time, only the faint rustle of maids working in the background broke the silence. She glanced at her phone as she stepped inside, hoping for a message from Liam, but her notifications were blank.

Chloe inhaled deeply, forcing herself to relax. Liam will handle it, she reminded herself. He had promised to confront Mendy, and if there was one thing Liam excelled at, it was handling difficult situations. She pushed aside her worry and decided to make the most of the evening.

“Mrs. Liam,” one of the maids greeted her with a polite smile, “would you like us to prepare anything for dinner?”

Chloe shook her head, an idea forming in her mind. “No, I’ll take care of it tonight. I want to do something special.”

The maid’s eyes widened slightly in surprise, but she didn’t protest. Chloe rarely took over in the kitchen, but tonight felt like the perf

Book 2 Chapter 48 Author’s POV The weight of Liam’s words cut deep into her heart, each syllable striking Chloe like a physical blow. She stared at him, her breath catching in her throat. “What do you mean by that?” she demanded, her voice trembling with a mix of anger and disbelief. He didn’t answer. Instead, he busied himself with his phone, scrolling through it as though she weren’t even there. The casual indifference in his actions ignited a fire in her chest. “Liam!” she snapped, stepping closer. “What do you mean I’m overreacting? Say it to my face.” He didn’t even look up. The phone in his hand buzzed, and before Chloe could say another word, he answered it. “Mendy,” Liam said, his voice softening, a stark contrast to the irritation he’d shown Chloe moments before. “No, it’s fine. Don’t worry about it. She’s just being dramatic again.” Chloe’s heart stopped. Her chest tightened as the words registered. He’s talking about me. She stood frozen, every muscle in her body

Did you think you married a good!” His voice was sharp cutting through the stillness in the house. “Wha…t are you talking about?” I asked unable to comprehend what I was hearing. “I can’t believe I ever let you into my life, you cheat!” His voice is sharp and the weight of them feels like a punch to my chest.I flinch, my breath hitching as I process what he’s just said. “Liam, I—”“Don’t.” He raises his hand to silence me, his gaze colder than I’ve ever seen it. “Just don’t. I made the mistake of trusting you at first, a huge mistake. You—” he gestures toward me with disdain “—you’ve brought nothing but chaos into my life,” he breathed out heavily. My mouth opens to pronounce something, but no words come out. For a second, I’m stunned. Hurt. But then the anger sets in. “You don’t get to talk to me like that,” I say, my voice trembling but steady. He narrows his eyes. “Don’t I? After everything, you thin

Hearing him calling me a weak wolf makes me more. “Is that what you want, Liam?” My voice is soft but trembling in a way that I could even hear. I search his face, desperate to find something, anything that might make sense of the mess we’ve become. He falters, just for a second. His lips parted as if he were going to say something, and for the briefest moment, I saw the man I was mated to. The man who once held me when I was breaking. But then, as quickly as it came, it’s gone. His jaw tightens, and his eyes harden like steel.“I can’t keep doing this,” he mutters, running a hand through his hair. “I’m tired of everything, I remember…” His voice trails off, and I can see the wheels turning in his head.“Remember what?” I ask, stepping closer. “What is it, Liam? What have I done that’s so unforgivable? Just tell me so I can fix it.”His eyes snap to mine, and the anger there burns like fire. “Fix it?” He lets out a b

Her face lingers in my mind, etched with defiance and hurt, and it only fuels the storm brewing inside of me. I head to the trails behind the house, hoping a run will clear my head. The cool air hits my face as I start, my feet pounding against the dirt path. My muscles ache in ways they haven’t before, and my breath catches, uneven and unfamiliar. Something feels… off. I slow to a walk, pressing a hand to my chest. It’s not just physical, there’s a shift deep within me, something I can’t quite place. My wolf stirs uneasily, a low growl vibrating at the edges of my consciousness. “What now?” I mutter aloud, running a hand through my hair. Chapter 52 Chloe’s POV The silence in the house feels suffocating, and the thought in my chest refuses to lift no matter how much I try to distract myself. The kids are upstairs playing, and I sit alone on the living room couch, staring blankly at the window side. How did we get here? I run my hands through my hair, frustration building as the memories flood back, Liam’s words, his accusations, the bitterness in his voice when he said I’d caused him to lose so much. Every time I replay it, I come up empty. What did I do to deserve this? Where did I go so wrong? Blaming myself is easier than facing the possibility that Liam might be wrong. If it’s my fault, at least I have some control. “Mama?” I heard Asher voice, interrupting my thoughts, and I look up to see him standing at the edge of the room, his wide eyes filled with concern. “Yes, sweetheart?” I say, forcing a smile that feels like it might crack my face. “Are you okay?” He asks, walking closer. His small hand reaches

Chapter 53 Chloe’s POV I hesitated, unsure whether I should assist Liam or not. My gaze lingered on him, filled with a mix of anger and resentment. Initially, I decided to leave him to his fate, but when he groaned in pain, my resolve wavered. I turned back to him, and a wave of sadness washed over me. Reluctantly, I chose to help him. I approached him, bending down to his level, and gently assisted him to his feet. I tried lifting him up, but he seemed heavy. No matter how hard I tried, he kept falling back onto the floor. I didn't know what to do as sadness bubbled up in my mind. I sat down beside him with a trembling body. Tears streamed down my cheek, I didn't know why or what made everything change suddenly. The Liam I got mated to is not the one sitting beside me. The Liam I know would never go out and get himself drunk. The Liam I know would never raise his voice at me, no matter what the situation was. But the one sitting on the floor was totally different. I cleaned th

Chapter 54 Chloe’s POV My heart beat faster as I watched Chloe fall down on the floor, my eyes widened. At first, I thought she was joking until I used my leg to tap her ass, and she refused to lift her body up. “Chloe, stop joking and wake up. Stand up right now!” I lamented, praying for her to get up, but instead, her body remained on the floor. My heart started beating even faster. “Dad! Mom!” I heard a voice from behind, and I turned only to find Aria walking toward me, her brows furrowed. “Dad, what happened to Mom?” Her small voice yelled as she ran to Chloe, leaning beside her and tapping her forehead. “Dad, she is hot! She is feeling hot!” she screamed, and I had no option but to lean toward Chloe and touch her forehead. She felt like somebody who had just been pulled out of hot water. Sweat erupted out of my body as I raised my gaze up. “Aria, stand up. Go to your room. I will be back, let me take Mommy to the hospital,” I said, and she nodded, though she hesitated fo

Chapter 55. Liam's POV. "Where are we going to?" Asher inquired curiously making me wonder what exactly the problem was. I was waiting to see what could be done concerning these children because they seemed to have a stronger mind of their own. Courtesy of their mother. Chloe influenced the kids because that was the only reason they would ask me such deep questions like adults. "When we get to this place, I want you to be well-behaved. If not, I'm going to take you back immediately," I told both of them Aria looked up at me, inspecting my eyes. "Are you serious right now?" My eyes widened at her language. Again Chloe was to be blamed. "I don't understand what exactly you are talking about but I just want you to be mindful of whatever you are doing." "Tell me what exactly you want. You cried that you wanted to come with me, and I allowed you, and now you're asking if I'm serious? Spare those languages for your mom." Asher looked at me as though I had said something

Chapter 124. Chloe's POV. "So, you mean this is the antidote to the potion my sister used on him? How did you even know that something like this existed?" I inquired from her, inspecting the bottle from back to front. Sophia let out a soft chuckle, "of course I know because I have a background in medicine. I wouldn't really call it that because not everyone who tries their hands at many things, has an idea of what this might be, but whatever the case may be, I guess we don't have to worry our heads about anything.""Yeah, right. So what am I supposed to do with it?" I asked, trying to sniff it to see if I would understand a thing happening here, but it didn't work."You are supposed to just pour in a drop in his tea or coffee so that it works slowly. If you do this consecutively for fourteen days, this might help you to get rid of whatever has settled down in it to his subconscious." She explained to me. Sophia had been nothing short of a blessing to me because immediately I broug

How long would it take for mendy to cross over from her house to this arena? Was she hoping that she got caught by Chloe? Mendy arrived with the rustling of bushes as her boots scrunched through them. “I'm sorry for the delay. I needed to sort out a few things so that I didn't get caught. I hope that no one saw you when you were leaving.” “Can we abandon that and move to the reason we are here? I have been able to get her to trust me, what is the next step?” Sophia caught Mendy off. “You shouldn't speak to me in that manner just because you are doing me a favor. In case you have forgotten, you should be thankful that I gave you this opportunity.” “As if I am doing this for you.” Sophia thought inside of her but wouldn't dare utter those words so that she didn't sound opportunistic and make Mendy suspicious. “I apologize, I am on

Confused as hell but didn't want to sound or look like I wasn't polite, I looked away watching the person who was talking staring at me as I tried to figure out what exactly she was saying. "Do I know you?" I inquired, raising my eyebrows a little higher than necessary. "I don't think that you do but I do know you. You are Luna Chloe. One of the best people that we have ever had to grace our arena. I'm sure that a lot of people would regret ever coming against you. You are one of the sweetest people that I know."I recoiled, "okay, back up for a second." She chuckled softly before even advancing towards me, making me a little worried and wondering why this person was so bold to come closer when I had practically told them to stay away. I knew that some people were bold and would not desist unless there was a great reason for that. I had more than not expectations when it came to mingling with people "It would be nice if you introduce yourself after sa

Chapter 121Chloe's POV. "I think that teacher Mendy is one of the best assets to this school. She has been nothing but great to the children, especially how they behave and address people nowadays." One of the parents said. I laughed at their ignorance of the truth. How would anyone in their right senses ever think that my sister was the best thing to happen to their kids? "Haven't you listened to the way your children speak? Do you think that that is the right way things should be done? If you think so, then I would have to question everything that you represent and I'm not even joking about that." I said with so much anger. "That is the basic truth. My daughter had not picked up when she started until Miss Mendy took her in and then made her life beautiful. I know that there might be some issues between both of you but it doesn't change the fact that she is one of the best teachers over here." Another parent spoke. "She has records of people who come to give her accolades. Su

Chapter 120. Chloe's POV. Heading back home was a delight but at the same time also a problem because all I could think of in that moment was how I would be able to handle the situation perfectly without looking helter skelter or being in a dilemma Deciding to go and check up on my kids turned out to be a disheartening move, as I suddenly began to think of everything that had gone wrong. My kids deserve the best but I had not given this to them, not because I didn't want to but because I just didn't have the capacity to do so. Firstly, I encountered one of the teachers at the gate who was looking at me as though I was here on a wicked mission, this was probably the effect of my sister's methods on making everyone see me as the bad guy. "I want to see mendy." I told her, watching her bow immediately and rush off I didn't waste time going after her, passing by mendy's class I heard her teaching the kids on how to be disrespectful even if it was not as instructive as sh

I asked, holding my breath, in case things didn't go the way I expected it to."You might have to find it at all cost because then there is a huge problem than we might want to admit. I don't think that there is anything right now, but even at that we can find a way around it. I've got some new ideas." Bryan answered instead of the lady, making me wonder why he was so particular about me finding Liam's things. I wasn't at ease with the new development and would rather just relax and watch things play out naturally, but I also wasn't going to negate the fact that he might be speaking the truth. Helping me in fact was one of the greatest things anyone could do for me and I appreciated his efforts but, I was a little bit skeptical. "I don't want us to do anything that could potentially harm Liam in the future. I just want an antidote to be found in the potion and nothing more." I reiterated, so that th

It wasn't news that they would not stop until they were able to find out who was out of the house. Liam and I had not crossed paths since the last time we spoke despite living in the same house. Immediately I made peace with myself that he was under an influence. I no longer saw his offenses. Instead I saw him as a man who needed to be careful and that his ex was going to get him. Anyone else could be mad at the recent turn out of events but not me, I knew what I needed to do and was ready to do it nonetheless."I don't want anyone knowing that I'm meeting up with you that's why I'm hiding but as soon as I am able to push them away, trust me when I say that I would come out." I decided to also take laws into my hands. I needed to find out what my sister was so particular about that made her ignore the brutal signs and go for something that didn't even make any sense whatsoever. I also hated the fact that she could get away with it. Lucy's call came in almost immediately as though she had been monitoring what I was thinking of.
