OLIVIA'S POV

I sat by the edge of the bed, Alpha Rick was sitting next to me. His presence was getting me confused that I had to create a little distance between us. He understood, he never asked why, he only smiled.

“How is the baby?” He asked. Honestly, I never expected him to be this concerned about my child.

I nodded. “It's fine. Though it's been quiet lately. No kicks, no noise, nothing.”

“Have you spoken to the doctor about it?” He asked.

I shook my head. “Not yet.”

“Why?”

I looked at his face, there was a hint of frown but he did his best to hide it. He was concerned about the child, I get that. But I was more worried about what people would say. Maybe that's a part of me I can't get over with.

“Because… I don't want him thinking there's anything between the two of us.”

“Isn't there something going on between us?”

I didn't want to get him annoyed, so I had to find means to convince him that what he was thinking wasn't actually what I meant.
