Chapter 26

RAVEN POV

“Pitying me?” I chuckled.

“Why, Mr. Johnson?” I just had to ask so that I could know what he was thinking. “What have you been thinking all these while, Mr. Johnson?”

He smiled. “I don't know what I was thinking, Raven. I just didn't think you would have a car.

You must drive so well, too,” he smiled and there was me who gave a nod, admitting that I could drive well.

He walked to his car and waved at me. “Safe drive home, Mrs. Hamilton. I'll see you at work tomorrow.”

I hopped in my car, also, after waving at him.

The urge to lay on my bed was overwhelming, and I started my drive out of the compound after the manager was out, leading my way into the streets of the city.

I stopped some time to sip water from a bottle I came with from the fridge in the office, changing my mind about what we'd be having for dinner that night.

Instead of driving home, I made up my mind and drove in the direction of the restaurant closer to me.
