2024-10-29 19:42:56Flora was inside her room on a Sunday evening, she had been given new school wears and she was arranging it all in the wardrobe.
She heard some sounds coming from the living room, the sounds were not of two people otherwise she would have thought Orville was having a conversation with Hannah.
It was as though three people were speaking. Since she was already done with what she was doing, she decided to feed her eyes on whom the third party was.
She walked out of the room and saw Orville standing beside another lady who should be around twenty four years old. The lady had many expensive golds on and a heavy make up on her face. She looked fair and beauiful moderately.
Hannah was at this time walking to the kitchen leaving Orville and the lady at the living room.
Flora wondered whom this lady could be to him, perharps his sister, she thought and walked closer to them.
Once Orville saw Flora, the smile on his face widened and he asked calmly ," Flora, how are you?"
"I'm fine. I heard voices in the living room, that was why I decided to come," Flora said expecting Orville to introduce the lady beside him to her.
The lady had an indifferent look on as this was the first time she would be setting her eyes on Flora.
"Flora, I'm Martha," the lady stretched her right hand towards her and Flora received it. "Orville told me about you."
"Thank you, Martha," Flora said and they disengaged. Flora wondered what Orville told Martha about her. Perhaps a cool and young girl.
"I have some things to do inside," Flora said and turned, she soon faded out of their sight.
Orville and Martha sat at the living room and then, Martha spoke, "she's young indeed."
"Yes, I hope that the both of you will get along eventually," Orville said.
"Did you say she asked for divorce after two months?" Martha questioned.
"That's right but I'm never letting her go," Orville said and Martha's heart constrict very tightly.
She bite her lower lips and looked away.
"Is anything wrong?" Orville noticed her sudden change of expression and asked.
She managed to put her emotions under control and said, "a thought about something just cross my mind, never mind." She lied.
Martha and Orville were best of friends, they regard each other as best friend but many people who noticed their closeness regards them as a boyfriend and girlfriend.
Martha had feelings for Orville since she was young. She loved him so much but she had never been able to confess her feelings to him. She thought that Orville also loves her and that whenever Orville is ready for Marriage, he would definitely confess his feelings to her.
The reason why Martha was not under pressure to confess how she felt towards Orville was because she was sure that Orville didn't love any woman.
She was close to him very well and she knows his movement but she received the greatest shock of her life yesterday when Orville informed her that he was married.
It sounded like he was only pranking her but seeing the seriousness in the look and tone of Orville, he confirmed that Orville was really telling the truth.
How could he get married all of a sudden? It was hard for her to digest such a shocking news. She then told Orville that she had like to meet with his new wife. She even lied that she was happy for him but how could she be happy when she had always thought she would be the one that Orville would marry.
"It's evening and I was thinking that we could all eat dinner together, including Hannah," Orville said.
"That's good but... I don't really have the apetite to eat sincerely, I...have been purging," Martha lied. She just wanted to leave and be alone but she needed a logical excuse.
"Oh! I'm so sorry, you should take a drug then," Orville said and Martha stood.
"Orville, we'll see some other time," she placed her hand on her belly and walked out swiftly.
Her actions looked strange to Orville and then he followed suit. Once Martha got inside her car, Orville spoke," if you are feeling like defecating, why don't you defecate here?"
"No, not feeling like defecating, I'll explain to you later," she said with a contorted face as though she was in pain and then started the car.
"Or shall I take you to the hospital?" Orville questioned. She was his best friend so it was reasonable for him to care about her.
"No, thanks dear," she said and drove away.
Orville prayed in his heart that she would be fine.
He turned back inside and walked towards the room happily. Whenever he thinks about Flora, he feels very happy about it.
"Flora! Can I come in?" He asked at the entrance of the room.
"Of course," Flora's response came through.
"Thank you sweetheart," he opened the door and came in.
He saw Flora laying on the bed and holding her phone, her two thumbs were on the screen of the phone while the remaining fingers supported the phone from behind.
"Are you playing a game?" Orville asked as he sat on the edge of the bed.
"No, just going through some lectures, I do have some PDFs of some subjects I do on my phone," Flora responded.
"Great, come here princess," he said and Flora dropped her phone on the bed then adjusted into a sitting position before moving closer to him.
Orville touched her hair and caressed it," I love your hair."
"Thank you," She blushed and said.
He trailed his hand down her long hair and said," your hair is loosed because you are home, right? I can help you pack it into a ponytail?"
Flora giggled lightly, "I can do that myself. And yes, I loosened the hair because I'm home."
"You can loosen it back after I had packed it into a ponytail. Let me, princess," Orville said and after a few seconds, Flora nodded.
Orville helped her pack her hair into a ponytail then kissed her forehead.
He said, " Flora, you are my queen while I'm the king. I'm the only man that can touch your hair from now henceforth, is that right?"
Flora squinted her eyes and thought for a while before raising her head to him, she was now looking at his handsome face," only you? What if any boy at my school touch my hair?"
Orville's face turned stern immediately, he answered angrily," I'll kill the boy."
