Ariel
I could hear voices in my head and I woke up sweating profusely. My heart was racing as I got up, I felt I was in bed, the surface I laid in was just that....
I was really confused as my gaze instantly went to my torso area where I was just stabbed, I stared at my stomach for a while.
I was okay, which was strange. I was supposed to be way dead or somewhere in between but here I was, breathing
Or was I dead!?
No I was not, death can feel like my room, i was just having a bad dream.
I thought about the dream that I just had and the setting and I could hardly get myself to figure out what was happening.
Then I remembered the voice that I heard in my head just before I woke up.
"It could not be but have I been reborn?" The thoughts rang in my head and my heart froze almost immediately.
Wait what!
I stood up immediately in shock and stared at the room; my room.
I remember the design immediately. It was changed just after the death of my father but on my request, it was removed in three days.
It was beginning to dawn on me as I could easily predict the events that were going to take place.
My heart froze almost immediately, an awful truth that I just learned about.
I could feel the pain of the past now. The hot air of betrayal. The lies that he told me and the way that he pierced the dagger into my stomach With a single trace of mercy in his eyes.
I could feel tears forming in the corner of my eyes. If anyone had ever told me that he was going to Betray me in such a manner that he did, I would never have believed it.
But now that I had gotten a second chance at life, I was going to make sure that he pays for every single lie.
I brushed up my face as a flush of anger flushed over me. But first I had to remember the exact time that I had been reborn
"And make sure that you use this second Life of yours wisely." The voice rang in my head.
Then I heard a tap on the door. I drew down my Shirt immediately and I was beginning to wonder who that could be.
"Who is that?" The words shot out of my mouth.
"It's me, Jennifer." Whoever was at the other end of the door returned to me.
She parted the door open and immediately I stared right into her eyes, the only thing that I could see was the hate and everything that has happened in my past life.
My face squeezed into a frown as I drew over to her and I stared at her right in the face.
"What's happening?" She inquired, staring at me but the frown hanging on my face tightened even more.
"What's happening? You are a traitor and a liar." I fired at her.
"I don't understand what it is that you are talking about. I guess that you just woke up on the wrong side of the bed.
"And you will be on the wrong side of life if you don't get out of this room right this moment or you will have me do something terrible to you," I yelled at her and seeing the seriousness that was written all over my face, she pulled away from the door I closed it firmly behind her and I returned to the bed and fell face up.
"This is not how to do things, Ariel. Bite into Their skin slowly." My subconsciousness yelled out from the inside of me.
I thought about it for a while. Maybe this was the perfect idea and I would have a whole lot of time to reveal the truth about that thing that called himself my mate.
While I continued to think, the door parted Open and I looked up slowly and I noticed that it was Gulther.
There was a worried look on his face as he drew over to me. "Is anything wrong?" He Inquired staring right into my eyes.
But I could not even hear a single word of what he was saying because I was staring at the paper that was right in his hands. I remembered it perfectly from my past life and I got to know the time that I had been reborn too.
It was right after the death of my father and I had assured him that he was going to have it. Two days later, he brought the blueprint to me to sign the first part of it and I signed it later that evening after a Party.
"I might be a fool in my past life but I am certainly not going to be a fool in this life." I thought in my head.
"Ariel?" He called out to me, snapping me off from my thoughts.
"Is there something that you are not telling me about that you wish to inform me about?" He Inquired but I shook my head almost immediately because I had decided to play along in this crazy game of theirs.
"I think that I just woke up With a slight headache but I will be fine. What's that in your hands?" I Inquired.
"Remember the paper that you are supposed to sign. Just as you said." He added.
I took the paper away from him trying as much as I could to control my rising anger as I threw it into the drawer.
"But.." he wanted to say but I would not allow him to spit out a single word out of his mouth.
"I think that the headache is getting pretty worse and I will not be able to look through it now, Maybe later," I explained to him, falling back down to the bed.
He stared at me for a while. I could hear the surge of anger that he was trying to control.
This was something that I didn't notice in my former life because I was so lost in love or so I thought until I came to discover the truth about it.
He kissed me on my neck and he cuddled me for a while before leaving and my face squeezed into a frown hanging.
"Keep on deceiving yourself. When I am done with you, you are going to regret ever knowing me." I growled in my head.
I laid down on the bed trying to figure out the next event that was going to take place in my head.
But before I could get to do anything, the door parted open and my step sister Walked into the room
"Hey sister, since father died a year ago and mother ran away. We are alone together. I know that I have been doing a lot of things wrong and I want to plead that you forgive me." She said to me and I remembered the exact moment that this had happened in my past life and after this, I had given her the warmest hug ever.
"I was so stupid back then," I growled in my head.
"And what made you realize this all of a sudden?" I inquired, staring right into her eyes.
"I just realized that you are the only one that I have in the world." She returned to me with her tear-filled eyes and I smiled back at her.
"I have always wished that this day was going to come," I said With a smile hanging on my lips.
He hugged each other, and after that, she pulled away from me and stretched a letter over to me and I shot a really weird stare at her.
"And what is this for?" I Inquired.
"A party for Alpha. Since Father died a year ago, we have been confined to the pack house. So I discussed With Gulther and he loved the idea. We could go to this party just to have fun. I already made reservations." she said to me and I nodded my head.
"So thoughtful of you sis," I remembered with a hateful glare hiding right under it.
"Then that's a yes. I will go over to Gather and inform him about your decision right away." He mumbled as she swept off from the room.
I stared at the invitation for a while. There was something strange about this Party.
After I came back from the party in my past life, I was acting weird and I didn't even notice when I signed the documents.
I thought it was out of love but something else had happened to me that night.
I had to find out what the heck it was that they were plotting to do to me and I also had to do that as soon as I could.
I drew off from the bed and I walked outside. It was going to be difficult for me to search for them without sighting me.
"So what are you going to do now?" My subconsciousness yelled out from the inside of me.
I called out to one of the servants in the pack house and he walked over to me as soon as he could.
"Princess Ariel." He greeted me With a slight bow.
"Did you see where my Mate Gulther goes?" I inquired, staring right into his eyes.
"Hmm, I saw them walking off to the guest restroom." He replied to me and I walked away from them as soon as I could.
I walked over to the resting room and just as I had thought, they were there, talking in whispers.
"What if she decides not to sign it? I know my sister and she can be strong-headed." He returned to me.
"But she loves me and she is ready to do anything for me."
"You are such a bad ass aren't you." My step-sister noted as a burst of dark laughter escaped from her mouth.
"But being serious. I know that the fool loves you but we have to take measures and that just lays all our hopes on what she feels about you." She returned
I clutched my hands, grinning With so much hate and anger.
"So we have reached a decision. We are going to intoxicate him and when she returns, she will barely realize when and how she signed it." He laughed
That was exactly what I needed and I pulled away from the door as soon as I could
I returned to the room. "Let's see who is the Fool here." I thought in my head
The time finally came for the party and I was all dressed up. The guard drove us to the venue of the event and I sat right beside Gulther.
"Hope you are doing fine now my princess." He inquired.
"With you by my side. I will always be fine." I lied to him.
When we got there, we sat on the seat that they had reserved.
I sat there but I didn't drink or eat anything.
"Ariel. Wait here while I go and get some drinks for us." He returned to me and he came back a few minutes later with my best-flavored drink, strawberry.
I remembered gulping it down without a second thought. I stared at him as he pushed the drink over to me.
"Thanks." I appreciated him.
I was about to take a sip and I noticed that they exchanged Swift glances and I had to drop the wine back.
"I will have to go and ease myself. I will be back as soon as I can." I returned and I could see the disappointment written on their faces and a dark smile hovered on my lips, exactly what I wanted.
I Walked outside to ease the tension but while I stayed there, something really strange happened to me. I began to perceive an odd scent of Cinnamon mixed With ginger.
I was really confused and I didn't know exactly what was going on.
"Mate! Mate!" I heard my wolf screaming inside of me and I froze right on the spot.
In my past life, I always thought that Gulther was my mate until he revealed to me by himself that he was never my mate.
I could feel my heart racing and my feet shivering and on the floor.
Then, I saw him walking towards me also shivering. I recognized him almost immediately.
Darius, the Alpha of the Mage pack. The darkest and also the strongest pack in the whole of the werewolf packs.
But why did it have to be the cruel Alpha of all Alphas? I was not the gossip type but the news about him and his cruel activities never seized in my ears.
"Mate!" The Words shot out of his mouth.
I thought about my past life, the Betrayal of someone so sweet and I thought that I loved.
I already faced one heartbreak and I could not face another. That was going to tear me apart.
I did not need anyone in my life. I was going to be an independent Alpha Queen and when it was time to have a child, I was going to find a male Alpha.
I know it had never been heard of but I didn't care. I could not go for love. Rather, I was going to face my revenge and after which I was going to build my pack.
I was rejecting him.
Alpha DariusJust when I thought that it was all over after I had thought that there was certainly no need for me to find my mate, anyone after searching for her for years and not finding her, the elders of the pack decided to break back the past pain that turned me into a cruel Alpha.I had to find a mate and bring an heir before I could continue with my reign. My face squeezed into a frown.I had given them way too much power. If not, they would not have the guts to spit those damn words out of their mouths. But at another thought, I could kill all of them, just with one pronunciation but then, it was going to tear the pack apart into fragments and it could not be Heard that the strongest pack was having problems.I was so confused for the first time after so many years and I didn't know what to do. That was the exact reason that I left the back for this party. But even when I was inside, I was just way too restless. The music, the air, all of that was just way too annoying for me a
Ariel I realized that now my half-sister and her lover wanted to kill her, now I had to save my life and ran away from there. When I was running away from the forest, there I was stuck with Alpha Darius Clive and I ask him for help. I was very frightened my legs were shivering. I was so scared."Why are you running so fast," he asked me surprisedly."They want to kill me, will you help me in saving my life," I asked him curiously."Why do they want to kill you"? he stunned."Actually, Gulther want my pack that is why he did so" I am not telling him about my rebirth, it’s a big secret."Why does Gulther want this?" he was stunned again and secretly happy that now she disliked Gulther and will be his mate happily."I don't know, but he betrayed me, he loves my sister, and he killed my senior pack members, now I am determined for revenge." I was determined."Ok, I will help you in your revenge. You will get your pack again. But you stay with me in my pack. In my pack you will be saved"
Were they connected to the dead woman?"Get her out, please?" Her body hit the window again, and I recoiled.Selkie hung his modest robe on a hook at the entrance to the water, wrapped himself in a seal skin and dived into the ocean. A few seconds later we saw him swimming through the strong tide, pushing his body against the square hatch in the floor of the bar. It was held in place by a magical membrane. Ocean nymphs and other water fairies could cross back and forth, but the water never crossed the barrier. He pushed the body towards the entrance. Leaning forward, I grabbed it and pulled. She slid a few meters across the floor before rolling onto her back.Milky eyes looked up unseeingly. Her body turned blue and swollen. Bloodless incisions exposed muscles, ligaments and organs. The cuts were torn. Who knows how long she stayed in the water. Her wounds may have been the result of being hit by rocks or by sharks. A real demon just tried to kill meA black stone pendant dangled from his wounded arm. I can’t explain, but in the absence of a pendant around my neck, my head immediately began to throb. I will need to restore it. At the first opportunity, I will repair the pendant and put it back around my neck. I was little when my mom pulled out the jewelry tools and made it for me and made me promise never to take it off.Even after a hot shower, I couldn't stop shaking. Later, pulling on my warmest sweatshirt and burrowing under the covers, I dreamed of a cup of cocoa and a hand to hold on to. Instead, I fell into a restless sleep as my mind replayed past and present traumas. And now we'll join this nightmare that's already begun. Clive gave me vampire bloodThe kraken would trap its victims, keeping them docile while it devoured them. Closing my eyes, I padded towards the exit. Tripping on the bottom step and swaying forward, I hit my knees on the steps, straightened up and ran upstairs. I almost fainted when I hit my head on the immovable guard blocking the entrance. My defenses were set on me. None of my defenses could deny me. And yet, as I understood, running my hands over the solid barrier of protection, one of them refused. I screamed and pounded on her."Open! Open!" She didn't give in. I was trapped.Tunnels!Cold sea water hit me much sooner than it should have. By the time I got back to the bar, the ice-cold water was up to my waist. With difficulty, I tucked my legs under me and stood up. The water was up to m
He softly touched my cheek with his fingers"Ha. I figured that a succubus would rather act as a stripper or prostitute.""Every day you learn something new."“She did that too. Says she likes it better when married businessmen in town hold conferences.” He shrugged. “Don’t ask me to explain how to trick men on a gun hunt…" Clive cleared his throat.“Behind warm relationships of a carnal nature,” Dave paraphrased."Can I go talk to her?"It was a delicate balance, a desire to feel connected to Clive, not a desire to make it obvious that I leaned on him. It was difficult to explain. He treated me like I was capable of it, but just in case, he kept his shoulder at the ready."You? No. We? Maybe." Dave stopped drumming, a thoughtful look on his face."Will you come with me?" I asked, breathing a sigh of relief. “Don't be offended by your kindred, but ll feel better if you cover for me when I face the demon." As much as it scared me, my life and home were in danger. You are Princess ArielThe corner of her mouth turned up. “I don't blame you. Not for me either. So, if not rings, how can I help you?"I put my hand in my pocket, but hesitated. Should I give my pendant to some strange supernatural to have it repaired, even if Owen recommended it? Someone tried to kill me, and this woman gave off a strange reptilian smell."Trust issues, huh?" Nodding, she pulled up a chair and sat down. “I am Koko, at your service. Now, since you're a she-wolf living in our beautiful pack... if your scent is any indication of that... I'd guess you're Sam, the owner of the Killed Sheep." With a wink, she asked, "Did I manage?""You've never been to the Killed Sheep. I would remember." Her presence was soothing, which helped calm my nerves."Thanks for the compliment, and no, I wasn't. I quit drinking many years ago, and I read on my tablet. My brother knows someone who works there, so I heard about it." Leaning back, displaying superior strength and balance, she took
Did it happen again? Not wanting to bring the wolf to Koko and my pendant, I decided that I was safer at home and turned the corner. As soon as the wolf was out of sight, I started jogging. I quickly got to the Presidio, but then the path changed. Almost between one step and the next, the bright sunny day faded. Huge trees blocked the light, plunging me into unnatural darkness. Turning around in search of the Presidio through which I had just passed, I found nothing but tall ivy-covered trunks and vine-covered undergrowth blocking my path. As if I turned into Middle-earth.A screech and movement in the nearby bushes made me move again, quickening my pace. Yellow eyes burned, small sparks of light in the dark branches. I ran, trying to overtake my surroundings. Was it like the Kraken?Intimidating, not intimidated. I had to find a way out. A vine wrapped itself around my ankle, pulling on my leg and causing me to collapse onto the forest floor. Wet, fertile ground covered in branches
The both of us ventured to Coco's quaint and welcoming shop, a place filled with the comforting aroma of incense and the soft tinkling of wind chimes. It was a sanctuary of serenity amid the chaos of our enigmatic quest, a place where we could share our deepest concerns and seek solace in each other's presence. Coco greeted us with a warm smile as we entered her shop, sensing the gravity of our visit. We settled into the cozy nook by the window, surrounded by shelves adorned with mystical trinkets and ancient books. With a blend of unease, I began to recount the unsettling visions that had plagued me – the spectral girl, the waterlogged bodies, and the nightmarish river. Coco listened attentively, her eyes filled with empathy and understanding, as if she could feel the weight of my experiences.
Amidst the disorienting maelstrom of her vision, as Sam was inexorably drawn closer to the enigmatic river's depths, she glimpsed a figure emerging from the shadows. It was the same ethereal girl, the one she had encountered before in her unsettling dreams and visions. Her presence was as eerie as ever, a haunting specter in the nightmarish tableau. The girl's features remained elusive, obscured by an otherworldly aura, and her eyes held a depth of knowledge that seemed to transcend time and reality. She watched Sam with an inscrutable expression, her presence both disconcerting and strangely familiar. As Sam's journey down the dark river continued, more macabre elements of her vision began to manifest. The waterlogged bodies that had previously appeared in the waters of her bookstore bar now floated eerily around her, their lifeless forms suspend
Further into workout time at the bookstore bar, I stood behind the counter, gazing out of the window as the last traces of daylight faded into the evening. The tranquil atmosphere of my shop was shattered once again when I heard a scream. I rushed to the window, my heart pounding, and my worst fears were confirmed. There, in the dim twilight, I saw the silhouette of a lifeless body floating in the water. Dread washed over me as I realized that Randy wasn’t the one behind the rape and killings. He must have been sent if bodies keep appearing Tears welled up in my eyes as I realized that whoever was after me wouldn’t quit torturing innocent women. Anguish and rage coursed through me, but amidst the turmoil of emotions, I knew one thing for certain – I had to find the person responsible for this sinister chain of events. My mind raced as I tried to connect the dots, searching for any clues or patterns that would lead me to the elusive enemy. I retraced the moments leadin
As I waited anxiously on the couch, I knew I didn’t have to worry about forgetting anything. Clive always had everything meticulously prepared for me, down to my underwear. The thought of his thoughtfulness brought a small smile to my face, even in the midst of my fear. When I heard a knock on the door, my heart leaped into my throat. The uncertainty of whether it was Gulther or Clive sent shivers down my spine. I hesitated, frozen in fear, until my phone buzzed with a text from Clive. Relief washed over me as I read his message, confirming his presence at my door. I rushed to the door and swung it open, my heart pounding. Seeing Clive’s familiar face filled me with a mix of emotions—relief, gratitude, and a deep sense of trust. I hugged him tightly, feeling safe in his embrac
The soft morning light filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow across Clive’s face as he lay beside me. I watched him sleep for a moment, his chest rising and falling with each peaceful breath. The world outside felt distant and unimportant in this fleeting moment of tranquility. My fingers traced the contours of his face, memorizing every detail—the strong jawline, the delicate curve of his lips, and those piercing, crimson eyes that had captured my heart. I marveled at the way love had brought together two beings from opposite sides of the supernatural divide. As I leaned in and gently kissed his forehead, Clive stirred, his eyes fluttering open to meet mine. A soft smile graced his lips, and he pulled me closer, our bodies entwined in the warmth of the sheets. In that embrace, we forgot about the complexities of our respective worlds—his as a vampire and mine as a werewolf. All that mattered was us, here and now. But, as it often happens, the peace was abr
"Sam, I can't even begin to imagine what you've been going through," Clive said softly, his words filled with empathy. "But I want you to know that I'm here for you, no matter what." His unwavering support was a source of comfort, and I found myself opening up to him about my fears, my doubts, and the unsettling suggestion of black magic that Coco had introduced. Clive listened intently, his presence on the other end of the line a lifeline in a sea of uncertainty. After discussing the nightmarish vision and Coco's insights, Clive made a suggestion that surprised me. "Why don't I come over, Sam?" he proposed. "It might be easier to talk in person, and we can explore this black magic idea together." I agreed to his suggestion, feeling a mixture of relief and anticipation. Hav
In the nightmarish vision that held me captive, the boundaries of reality and unreality blurred further, leaving me ensnared in a grotesque and surreal landscape. The relentless figures, their forms twisted and nightmarish, closed in around me like vengeful spirits hungry for my torment. Every attempt to move, to escape the paralysis that bound me, proved futile. The weight on my chest was an invisible vice, crushing the breath from my lungs, and my limbs remained immobilized, as if shackled by unseen chains. Panic coursed through me, and I could feel the cold sweat on my brow as I struggled to regain control over my body. The whispers grew louder and more insistent, their words now forming a sinister narrative that echoed through the twisted void. They spoke of ancient curses and malevolent entities, painting a chilling picture of the supernatural forces that held sway over this nightmarish realm. The erratic flickering of the neon lights above cast eerie, dancing shad
Coco's story had cast a shadow over our conversation, leaving a lingering sense of unease in its wake. Her eyes held a mix of compassion and concern as she leaned closer, her voice lowered to a hushed tone. "Sam," she began gently, "I know it might sound unconventional, but considering what you've been through, have you ever thought about exploring the possibility of using black magic to find answers or to protect yourself?" Her suggestion hung in the air, a palpable shift in the conversation's tone. I hesitated, my thoughts a tumultuous whirlwind of doubt and uncertainty. The idea of delving into the arcane and the unknown was both alluring and terrifying. Coco, ever the persuasive friend, began to share stories of individuals who had turned to such practices as a last resort, finding
In the days that followed the unsettling events and revelations, my life settled into a somber rhythm, marked by a cautious return to a semblance of normalcy. Before I resumed working at my bar, there was a period of introspection and support from my friends. Each morning, as the sun cast its gentle rays upon my apartment, I would awaken to the gentle sounds of the city outside my window. The memories of my recent ordeal still haunted my dreams, leaving me with restless nights and moments of reflection in the quiet hours before dawn. My days were often spent in solitude, grappling with the myriad emotions and unanswered questions that swirled within me. The city outside buzzed with its usual activity, yet I felt detached from the bustling world beyond my doorstep. The weight of the pendant's mystery and the looming threat of unseen adversaries cast a shadow over my every thought. Throughout this period, Clive, Dave, and Dr. Underfoot remained unwavering pillars of supp
