Chapter 148

Anna woke up feeling energized. Lucian was not on the bed beside her and she guessed that he had already left the estate for whatever meeting he had with the council.

The curtains were drawn to let light in and when Anna checked the digital clock sitting on the wooden bedside table beside her, it read twelve twelve.

She sat up and threw back the covers, gasping in surprise at how long she had slept. Wendy would have knocked on the door with breakfast in hand and that would have been two or three hours ago. Anna rubbed her forehead and sighed.

Self conscious about her appearance, she walked to the mirror standing before Lucian's dress stand.

Noticing that she was close to being naked in her bikini from last night, she squealed in horror and threw open his wardrobe in search of something to cover up her body. She did not want Wendy to find her looking like she had been savored last night.
