LAURA

“Laura! You are back, I’ve missed you greatly,” Cassey hugged me.

“I’m alright, you don’t need to worry,” I assured her.

“Come in Laura, I’ll escort you to your room.”

“No, you don’t have to. I’ll manage.”

“Nonsense! You just came back, you must be tired. Come, I’ll escort you,” she insisted.

We walked through the hallway leading to my chamber. Aden was standing on his usual post, before the doors of my chamber.

“Good day, madam Laura. Good day, madam Cassey,” he greeted. “We all have missed you very much.”

“Good day to you, Aden,” Cassey replied.

“Good day, Aden,” I greeted.

“You’re welcome, my queen. What can I get you, ma’am? Juice? Water? Foo —“

“I’m good, Aden. I’ll call you when I need anything.”

“Very well, ma’am,” he gestured a bow as we left and headed for my room.

“I’m so tired, Cassey. It feels like I’ve come back after years but my room still looks the same,” I said and threw myself on the bed.
