Chapter Seventy - Nine

EVE’S POV

For a moment there, I was almost lost in the euphoria of being Luke’s mysterious mate that his wolf folks were curious about. Luke was very protective of me, and it felt very good. Until Ezekiel yanked me out of this daydream.

He’d followed me and Luke into the wolf homelands, and I knew was organizing how more of his hunters would arrive and invade the homelands. He was hiding at the basement of Luke’s huge family house.

I was whisked away to see him that day after he took his chance and stole into Luke’s chamber, which was where I was to demand to see him. I knew he was mad at me. His perfectly gelled hair was standing on the ends, and he looked so pale and even thin.

Once we were in the basement and the door was shut firmly behind us after Ezekiel ensured to be double sure that no one had followed us and no one had seen us, he lashed out at me. It was sudden and unexpected, but Ezekiel hit me squarely in the face.

“You whore!” He hissed at me.
