Chapter Fifty - Three

MAX’S POV

I wasn’t sure that the meeting between my family and Amelia had gone as smoothly as I hoped it would. I knew Analita clearly didn’t consider Amelia a sister-in-law. It was understandable. May, my chosen mate, was her best friend and she had championed us being together all these years. So, being with Amelia was a rain on her parade.

I did think my Mum liked Amelia. She was always so frosty that it took time to decipher where her true heart was. Yet my good hunch was that she liked Amelia, and who wouldn’t? Amelia was perfect, and she was my mate. They would have to turn away from their prejudices because Amelia was here to stay.

I helped Amelia to her feet and walked hand-in-hand with her towards the back of the house, prepared to give her a tour of the property and then the woods I’d told her about.
