Chapter Fifty - Four

AMELIA’S POV

Max’s kisses always leave me breathless, and this one wasn’t an exception. His kisses were like wine; they were intoxicating. They appealed to something deep within me that I didn’t even know existed until he touched me. They stirred up something within me that I knew I was going to pursue headlong and headfirst soon.

He let go of me reluctantly and brought his forehead close to mine. “Someone’s coming.” He said, breathless too. I was pleased that I wasn’t the only one winded by the kiss.

We stayed put in one another’s arms with our foreheads together as we listened to our breath against the roar of the waterfall. Our racing hearts soon returned to their regular pace, and that’s when someone cleared their throat around us.

“Good Evening, Alpha Max and Lady Amelia.”

Max turned around to face this servant. He wrapped his arms around my shoulders and brought me closer to his side. “Hello, Millicent.”
