JANE POV

"We need to approach this situation strategically if we want to outsmart that woman. There are ways to handle this without resorting to violence. Right now, the most important thing is for you to calm down and ensure the well-being of your pregnancy. I'll come up with a plan," Flo explained.

"Alright, I'll follow your guidance. I trust you, Flo."

As night fell, I struggled to find peace in sleep. The thought of my husband's impending remarriage drove me to the brink of madness. So, I decided to lock myself in my room for the night.

The following morning, Selena knocked on my door. Despite my reluctance, I dragged myself out of bed and opened the door for her.

"Luna, Alpha Alex is waiting. They'll be leaving shortly," Selena said, her gaze holding a hint of sympathy, as if she understood my turmoil.

"I'm not feeling well. You can go ahead," I responded in a listless tone. Selena must have noticed my swollen, tear-stained eyes from a night of crying.

"Luna, if attending this event is causing you pain, you shouldn't force yourself."

I managed a faint smile and nodded in agreement.

"Then I'll inform Alpha Alex that you're not feeling well. Perhaps the alpha will reconsider the wedding for your sake," Selena said with a kind smile. Despite her status as an omega, she had a close relationship with Alpha Alex, having cared for him during his childhood.

I returned the smile, though it was difficult to muster. Selena bowed respectfully before leaving, and I closed my bedroom door once again.

What else could I do now but spend the day in tears?

I recalled the sweet words Alpha Alex had whispered on the yacht just yesterday, promising me a surprise. Little did I know, the surprise was one that would tighten my chest until it felt ready to burst.

I gazed at the door, hoping he would rush to my side upon hearing about my illness. Yet all my waiting was in vain. No one came, and it seemed like everyone was preoccupied with the preparations for my husband's second wedding.

It felt as though no one cared about my situation or even spared a thought for me. In that moment, I questioned the purpose of my existence.

My gaze wandered to the window where the curtains swayed in the breeze. The view outside seemed more appealing than enduring this agony.

Slowly, I rose from the bed and made my way to the window. If I were to jump from here, wouldn't this torment finally end?

My gaze dropped, the people below appearing minuscule from my vantage point. Yet once again, they seemed oblivious to my grief, absorbed in their own activities.

"Jane, don't be foolish. Taking your own life is not the solution. Life is long, and you have many options beyond this," advised Flo wolf.

I offered no response, continuing to cry as I stared down in despair.

"Jane, think of your mother. She's alone and has no one else. How would she feel if you were gone? Don't be so narrow-minded," Flo wolf urged.

This time, I realized the wisdom in her words. I hadn't even thought about my mother, lost in my own sorrow.

Simultaneously, the door to my bedroom swung open. Swiftly, I wiped the tears from my cheeks, determined not to be caught in a moment of vulnerability.

"Babe, I heard from Selena that you're not feeling well. Should I call a doctor?" Alpha Alex entered the room, dressed in a gray tuxedo with a red boutonnière.

I looked away, unable to face the person who had shattered my heart.

"There's no need. And don't pretend to care when you're the one responsible for my current state," I retorted, my anger directed at him. I resented his display of concern when he was the very cause of my anguish.

"I can't fulfill your request, but you should know that my love for you remains unchanged, Babe."

Nonsense! I scoffed, unswayed by his empty words.

"Don't offer me your sweet words now. Save them for your new wife. Right now, I need some rest," I expressed, my desire to avoid his, palpable. For no matter how persuasive his words were, they could not thaw my heart.

Alpha Alex complied, exiting the room after reminding me to take the prescribed vitamins.

Damn it! How could he simply leave like that! This wasn't the kind of attention I sought from him. This caring was not what I wanted! I hoped he would genuinely care enough to call off this ahow!

I gritted my teeth and clenched the window curtain with such force that it tore, my sharp nails ripping through the fabric.

Once more, tears flowed freely. How many more tears of sorrow did I have to shed?

Oh, goddess... Please help me... Save me from this pain. If there's still a chance for happiness here, show me. But if not, grant me an escape from this suffering and guide me to happiness elsewhere. Don't let me continue to endure this, goddess...

Ten minutes of tears mingled with prayers later, I rose from my seat. Enough was enough. I couldn't remain weak like this. Crying wouldn't resolve anything. It was time to reveal my true self.

I was Luna – resilient and steadfast. Even as Alpha Alex prepared to remarry, I remained Luna within this pack. My identity would not waver. I would give birth to the future alpha, safeguarding what was rightfully mine from that woman. I had to be strong for the sake of my unborn child. I was certain I could do it.

With resolve, I stepped into my wardrobe, selecting the most exquisite and alluring dress I owned. It had never been worn, as I had previously lacked the confidence to wear it in public. But today, I needed to present a different side of myself. Yes, I had decided to attend my husband's second wedding. I wouldn't let them celebrate without my presence.

Once again, I was Luna – a fact everyone needed to remember, including that woman. I was still Luna.

In a mere half-hour, I was ready. Taking a deep breath, I opened the door to my room. I needed to be strong, to refrain from crying. I had to show everyone my unwavering determination.

I strode confidently to the lobby and climbed into my private car, always parked at the forefront of the valet parking area.

"Wh-where would you like me to take you, Luna?" my driver stammered, his gaze fixed on me through the rearview mirror.

"Can you guess where I'm going? I'm definitely heading to the alpha's wedding," I replied with a smile. I'm sure my driver was gaping at my appearance. Let alone him, I was amazed at how I looked today. Perhaps this is what they call the power of heartache, allowing me to exude a presence beyond expectations.

"Come on, take me there immediately. I'm already running late," I urged.

"But Luna, earlier Alpha Alex instructed me to wait here as you weren't feeling well."

"Did you see any signs of illness? No sick person could manage to look this beautiful. Thomas, let's focus on the road and not get caught up in amazement, or else you might end up getting fired by the Alpha." My driver immediately averted his gaze. He no longer dared to meet my eyes through the rearview mirror.

"Please drop me off now. I don't want to miss Alpha's wedding for too long," I requested again.

"Yes, Luna." Thomas pressed on the gas pedal, directing the car towards the venue where Alpha's wedding was taking place.
